  1. @Dave Mika give me your thoughts
    Big School top 10

    1. Central Dauphin
    2. Downingtown East
    3. Lasalle
    4. Wood
    5. Easton
    6. North Penn
    7. Parkland
    8. Coatsville
    9. Souderton
    10. McDevitt

  2. @Buddy…You are correct. Our countdown will start ten days before the season starts.

Before that we will release our senior watch list and player list.

Let’s here your top 10 Big School (AAAA and AAA) and Small School (AA and A) teams?

  3. @ all:

Staff doesn’t enter their predictions until 10 days before season starts.

They enter 1 team per day starting with their #10. They like to keep you tuned in.

  4. Just got the itch back now that we have started practicing. D12 4A has some very good football this year, won’t be shocked if Prep misses the playoffs. LaSalle will be very good, Judge looks strong, Ryan has a ton of young talent, and Roman has all the tools to win the state. Should be a very entertaining year!

  5. Watch out for Cyree Ames at Great Valley High School. He is coming into his junior year and is a powerful shifty back. He was selected by Football University to play in there All-Amercian Game as a 8th grader and although he had a injury filled season his sophomore year we look for big things from him this year.

  6. @Buddy I saw so much of Skyler during his years at the Prep that I can honestly say the only way you will see him at an SEC game is if he’s selling Coke or Pepsi in the stands. Not to belittle the kid. He was an OK HS QB. But I never saw how people could foresee him playing QB at a big time program like Stanford, Penn State or Florida. Just don’t see it.

  7. @ paul:

I was talkin’ about AFTER those 3 games. When they get into their regular season schedule.

LaSalle always gives them a game, possibly O’Hara too.

But I don’t believe they would meet any PPL team until the playoffs. The PPL team that makes it that far might give them a game ( other then the teams mentioned above)

Morningwig DIDN’T do the PCL ( nor the East) proud in the Big 33 game did he? Don’t care who his father is, I suspect you won’t hear about him again, even in college.

  8. I’ve been watching the Public League for about 10 years now. The best that I saw was probably the ’04 George Washington team. Was the first year that the PPL participated in the PIAA playoffs. They were a hard-nosed, feisty team. Saw them play Easton at Charlie Martin Stadium. They came up short but probably should have won.

  9. The Prep is bringin’ it; they open against powerful Cocoa, FL and then play Gonzaga fron DC. Then North Penn etc. Maybe they can reassert themselves as the top dog in the PCL.

  10. @bert that west scranton you spoke about is my point the one with mcgolin that team was blanced it wasnt a wild shot gun 5 wide team like the one with hughes it was balance ran a lot of play action had a good running game as well as pass and i believe it the only school above aa who won a state playoff game from the scranton area

  11. guys yes d.v has players but untill d2 teams get away from no throwing on 1 st down 9 men in the box defence that no body check away from they will suffer out of d2 i know i being general but i think you know what i mean hey i a d2 guy and we are physical teams in this area but at the state playoff level you just cant run over everbody

  12. Jeremy, read this again. Not making all kinds of claims. Just stating they have a solid team with 2-3 years of Varsity experince under their belts. I saw them play twice here in Scranton last year and the thing that hurt them was the receiving game. We D2 Fans stick up for our teams, jsut the the rabid D11 fans stick up for theirs.

    1. to Bobby, Parkland has to get by Delaware Valley in the first game of the season first, any D11 team will have the hands full this year agaisnt them

    2. Del Val returns most of their team from last year and has the talent to get to the subregional final.

  13. DV has some top talent returning. Included are quarterback Brian Schorr and tight end Connor Decker, both of whom attended big 33 game as part of top 100 in Eastern Pa for next year. Also, have a couple huge tackles, running back, and receiver back from a good team last year. Schorr can throw the ball with the best of them, they won’t go 5 wide sets, but won’t have to with the run threat they’ll have. Contrary to what some of you people think, teams in the Scranton area can throw the ball. In the last few years, teams like Riverside, Scranton, and West Scranton, with Matt Mcgloin and the Hughes kid played wide open football. At the AAAA level, Scranton, DV, and even Wallenpaupak did pretty well out of district. Two out of 3 of these teams have a lot coming back this year.

  14. @mark d Del Val does have a lot coming back, the limited amount of time I have seen them over the oast few years they are physical and well coached. But it is a littl emuch to come on here and make all kinds of claims that there going to play in the sub-region final. Which they may do, but what does anybody really know about a team in june to make those claims. every year we hear about a District 2 team who is going to open up throw the ball and so forth and every year we see a different version of the same offense.

  15. @jeremy guess i have to agree with you yes del valley has a qb coming back and a very strong o line but to see if they open it up as you said you hear every year but they do have deep talent

  16. @ Bobby, Del Val-Parkland will be one heck of an opening day game. Del Val returns most of their team from last year and has the talent to get to the subregional final. To Jeremy, pre season bet. Del Val in sub regional final. If not, I’ll donate $100 to Wounded Warrior project, if they are in you donate the $100.

  17. I think Nazareth will be competitive in the League but they lost a lot of people. I really don’t think the LVC will get more than 3 teams in the sub-region. Easton and Parkland look like the pre-season favorites. But I can see the rest of the league Whitehall, Nazareth, Freedom, Liberty all being 6-4/7-3. I think the MVC will get 2 teams in, and the other 3 from district 2. I hope more get in but from what it looks like outside Easton and Parkland the other teams may all beat each other.
