Three Top Jaguars Are Now A Golden Ram

            Seniors Jared Bonacquisti, Tim Keyser, and Nick Garcia of Garnet Valley High School are going to be teammates for at least another four years. All three Jaguars signed their letter of intent to attend West Chester University.

            Senior fullback Jared Bonacquisti ended his career at Garnet Valley High School with 14 touchdowns in his senior year along with rushing for over 1,000 yards. He helped the Jaguars go undefeated in the regular season and win two playoff games. Picking a college to play football wasn’t easy for Bonacquisti. He said “It was very stressful, talking to different coaches, listening to what they had to say and then trying to figure out where you wanted to spend the next four years of your life at.” He also added “The campus and the kids on the football team were great, and everyone was really nice and brought me in like I was already on the team.” This really helped him make his decision. While Bonacquisti is at West Chester University he said his goal is to help the team win, and help the Golden Rams win a national championship.

            Garnet Valley’s running back Tim Keyser said “I’ve learned the importance of team and working together with your team mates.” Keyser had an excellent senior year at Garnet Valley. In just 100 attempts Keyser rushed for 1,099 rushing yards along with 16 rushing touchdowns and two receiving touchdowns. Keyser was a big part of Garnet Valley’s offense and looks to do the same at West Chester. Keyser called the recruiting process stressful at times but one of the biggest reasons he went to West Chester was clear to him “I want to be part of a winning team”.

            The third piece to West Chester’s recruiting puzzle was Garnet Valley’s defensive lineman, Nick Garcia. Whenever an opposing quarterback dropped back and sat in the pocket he was always worrying if Garcia was near. Six foot three, 315 pound lineman, Garcia said at Garnet Valley he learned a lot. “I’ve learned to make myself better and doing that makes the others around me better.” He also added “The coaching staff at Garnet Valley was phenomenal” which really helped Garcia at his position. Garcia will be a huge threat on defense at West Chester. Garcia said his biggest goal as a Golden Ram is “I want to be the best nose guard to ever leave from West Chester University.”

            Last year the Golden Rams of West Chester made it to the NCAA Division 2 second round of the playoffs, falling short only by a few points to Bloomsburg. With these three top recruits Head Coach Bill Zwaan has to be very happy about the future of his Golden Rams.  Now with three big signings for West Chester University, the three top Jaguars look very prominent to continue their success for another four years at the collegiate level.
