It was a milestone type of season for both the blue and white and Coach Fluck, his team finished 13-2, and brought Philadelphia County its first-ever PIAA football championship. Fluck celebrated his 100th career victory after West Catholic defeated Bishop McDevitt (Wyncote) 35-14 in October, part of a 12-game winning streak enjoyed by the Burrs following a narrow 14-7 loss to La Salle in the third week of the season. Coach Fluck owns a career record of 109-49. The 2010 edition of the Burrs featured three 900+-yard rushers, a sizeable offensive line and an unrelenting defense that allowed an average of 9.8 points per game entering the PIAA finals. West Catholic has cemented itself among the top contenders in the state’s AA classification since becoming a PIAA affiliate in 2008, winning a total of 39 games the last three seasons and finishing each of the last four seasons (2007-’10) with at least 11 victories.

  1. Non-hater says:

    Dear Tim,

Don’t be mad that you never had a chance to win a championship. Get over the fact that West Catholic is a better team than you have ever played on. Stop hating.

  2. Tim says:

Congratulations to West…must be nice to recruit your players. How many of those players would be there if they weren’t recruited?

I wonder how many games they would win then?

  3. Huck says:

    Dave,

    A couple of things….

WC was 13-2 this year. Their winning streak was 12 games. And they have won at least 12 games during the last three seasons.

Also, they 39-7 over the last three seasons and are 50-8 over the last 4. They went 11-1 and won the PCL Blue Division (3A or smaller) in 2007.
