See Suburban, we both need spell check.

  2. Dog21 says:

    Suburban
By the way, you should have put a comma after ACADEMICALLY. Don’t you have spell check? You should really check your posts for proper grammar before sending out. LOL

  3. Dog21 says:

    Suburban
    Hey PAL
You are so predictable it is laughable. First, Don’t you dare tell me that I can’t rate Wood’s program. I can say whatever the hell I want. Got it PAL? Who the eff do you think you are?

Now that we cleared that up, let’s here your FACTS. You have none do you? Cricket.. Cricket.. Come on I know you have some very clear evidence or you would never had made a stupid statement like that right?

You AVOIDED my question. Please tell me exactly who recruited, when, where, and the circumstances surrounding it?? LOL. You can’t can you? I GUARANTEE YOU WILL RESPOND WITH SOME SMART COMMENT, BUT YOU WILL NOT HAVE ANY PROFF OR EVIDENCE TO BACK UP YOUR STATEMENT.

YOUR WORDS ” IT IS A WELL KNOWN FACT THAT WOOD HAS STARTED TO RAID SURROUNDING SUBURBAN….BLAH BLAH BLAH

BACK IT UP PAL!! LETS HERE IT!! GUARANTEED YOU WILL SUPPLYNOTHING

  4. phillyboy says:

I want to see a public school knock off Wood in the playoffs. Wood is the favorite but they could stub their toe like West Catholic did a few years against Wilmington. Dog21 is being naive. The thing that gets me about Wood is that they’ll score a 1000 points against easier competition but they come up small against the big boys. Hope one of those D7 teams shows them how to play some hardnosed ball.

  5. Suburban Fan says:

    doug21:
FIRST OF ALL I AM NOT YOUR PAL. GET THAT STRAIGHT.
SECONDLY, WHAT BOARD DO YOU REPRESENT OR ARE YOU A MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF ONE?
THIRDLY, LEARN TO USE SPELL CHECK.
YOU BETTER START INVESTIGATING YOUR OWN PROGRAM. YOU ARE BLINDED BY A BRAINWASHED MENTALITY AND SOUND LIKE AN UNINFORMED CHILD LASHING OUT WHEN CONFRONTED BY THE TRUTH.
DON’T YOU DARE RATE WOOD’S RECORD, ATHLETICALLY OR ACADEMICALLY WITH THE SCHOOLS IN THE SURROUNDING SUBURBAN DISTRICTS. YOU WILL COME OUT FAR BEHIND.

  6. Dog21 says:

    Suburban
So you are accusing Wood coaches of recruiting? Ok since you want to deal with FACTS. Tell everyone exactly who Wood recruited? Tell us exactly the situation where, as you say, ” a coach of a team(Wood) actively goes out to recruit a student-athlete and helps in the transferring of that student”.. See this is the part where you clam up because you have no evidence to suggest that has happened. Do you? You mentioned that Wood is raiding the local schools. Are you kidding me? Are you really serious?

Ok so let’s here your FACTS. Explain to this board the players that Wood has “recruited”. Hello, are you there? Cricket. cricket. You are a spineless weasel to make ridiculous statements like that that are completely false. You do it because you can hide behind a screen name. You are just upset because the better 8th and 9th graders in the suburbs realize that Wood has an outstanding program, and they are not going to your school. Correct? You might earn some credibility with this board if you actually said ” Private schools have an advantage because of Open Enrollment”. See, now that is a fact and that is the truth. But they are not RECRUITING. Do you really think the Wood coaching staff sits around a whiteboard and makes a list of targeted players in the area. If so, you need to get a life. When D Peoples transferred to Wood, his parents contacted Devlin and inquired about coming to Wood. Was Devlin supposed to say, “Gee, no I would rather not have the best RB in the area”?

YOU GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT PAL!

  7. phillyboy says:

That’s why I root for the public schools over the private. What public school do you guys think would have the best chance of knocking off PCC this year??

  8. Suburban Fan says:

    SI Fan:
Don’t compare the transferring of Abington’s QB from Cheltenham to Wood’s recruitment of talented football players.
If a student-athlete initiates a move and his parents agree and comply with that request without a coach’s compliance it is perfectly ethical.
If a coach of a team actively goes out to recruit a student-athlete and helps in the transferring of that student to his school that is recruitment.
GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT AND WRITE ABOUT WHAT YOU KNOW.

  9. Dog21 says:

THIS JUST IN! There has been sightings of the Archbishop Wood coaching staff in full camouflage outside of several local suburban public schools. It appears a raid is imminent. Apparently, they are looking to kidnap several players from these schools to have them come play for their team. Apparently, Wood has a targeted list of players that they have been going after for a long time. We will keep you posted as this unbelievable story develops.

  10. S1 Fan says:

stop complaining about the PCL Abington’s Qb transferred from Cheltenham this year as a senior for football reasons only! so was he recruited?

  11. jim says:

Not sure what other schools have, but saw Valley View and there loaded- DEFENSE is outstanding, offense three quality running backs and a peferfect wide receiver.Dont know how far they will go with this Archbishop everybody is talking about, but there not going to be an easy out!!

  12. Suburban Fan says:

It is a well known fact that Archbishop Wood has started to raid all the surrounding school districts for talented football players. How can anyone be a fan of such a practice?
THE PIAA SHOULD TIGHTEN AND ENFORCE ITS REGULATIONS AGAINST THIS UNETHICAL ACTION.

  13. phillyboy says:

To Jeff–The PIAA does not need to separate the private and public schools for the playoffs. Since the state tournament started in 1988 at AAAA the private schools have only won 5 state titles whereas the publics have won 18! It’s a fact. Check the records. Pittsburgh Central Catholic has won 3, Erie Cathedral Prep 1 and LaSalle 1. Again, it’s Public 18, Prvate 5. Just last year LaSalle got smacked around by North Allegheny (public) in the final. If anything, the privates need to recruit better.

  14. WAalum says:

To Jesse Bateman (from the Post-Gazette on 9/2/11):

    “Transfer issues

Some members of the PIAA Board of Control and other district committees around Pennsylvania have complained privately about too many transfer students in Philadelphia Catholic and Public League schools. They complain about how easy it seems to be to transfer without penalty in Philadelphia.

Archbishop Wood is a prime example of what bothers many. Running back Brandon Peoples transferred from Abington before his junior year and Desmon Peoples came from St. Joseph’s Prep last year. Defensive back Nate Smith came this year from George Washington High School.

Another top player, receiver-defensive back Benji Abercrombie , transferred this year from Hatboro-Horsham.”

  15. Jeff says:

To Jesse Bateman, in NJ, Catholic Schools play other catholic schools during the playoffs. During the regular season they play each other and the publics. They don’t recruit like a college, but they encourage kids to come play for them and or use feeder programs from their middle schools. Thats fine, but the PIAA needs to separate them with the publics during the playoffs. Love to see the big bad philly league play bergen Catholic or Don Bosco. Since you lied about how they don’t recruit, you need to go to confession!

  16. ed says:

    Jesse
The catholic league has no borders. La salle has students bused in from 19 school districts and other students outside that area supply their own transportation They dont have to recruit they cover all of southeastern Pa When the PIAA allowed the Catholics in there were to be guidelines they disappeared The playing field is tilted wether you want to agree or not and yes they should always have great teams if not shame on them

  17. Buddy says:

    @ Josh;

never mind, I see they just lost to Pennsbury. Good call .

  18. Buddy says:

    @ Jesse:

    It’s you

    @ Josh FunK:

Council Rock south dropped out of the top-10 I see. Reason?

  19. Jesse Bateman says:

Dear sir,I am lost for words. Is it me or is the philadelphia Catholic league the most talented and by far the most fearsome teams in the state.Just think if they were in the PIAA 20 years ago with some of the ,and I quote, best teams probably in the country that easly could beat some college teams quite easy.Even the average catholic league teams could most likely smack around most of the big name teams that you hear about around the state. And do not even try to start saying the catholic league recruits. You know as well as I do that it is one of the biggest myths ever started.Wake up and smell the coffee, the Phila.,Catholic league is in the house.Better get used to it.

  20. Bob says:

Valley View might be the real deal, lets wait and see after this Friday.

  21. Brian says:

curiosity? why is west catholic in at 2-3. I know they have lost to some good teams too. just hard to understand why one team is allowed to stay in the top rankings after losing to a good team and another team who loses to someone good gets removed.

  22. Josh Funk says:

    Brian,

That was my mistake regarding Lewisburg. I cut them out of the top-10 and then forgot to put them back in the HM section. The two losses they have on their slate are by no means bad losses (MCA and SCA are good teams). The same thing happened a few weeks back with Tyrone….I cut them out of the top-10 in AA following a loss but forgot to include them back in HM. Not my intention to slight anybody in the Green Dragon camp.

  23. Brian says:

really josh, taking lewisburg out of the top 10 and honorable mention? not sure i understand it. they lost to MCA the number 4 team in AA and SCA, the number 2 team in A. They lost to SCA 29-28 and missed a 23yd fg as time expired. They also had moscarello running towards the end zone for a game clinching TD that would’ve put Lewisburg up by 2 scores midway through the 4th, but a SCA defender punched the ball out and SCA recovered and went 92 yds to set up the winning TD.

  24. ron says:

i cant understand your aaa ratings. you have 4 teams from district 7 ahead of valley view which is rated 9th. valley view is the real deal this year and should be rated in the top 5.
