LEHIGHTON – Blue Mountain scored in all phases last night, running, passing, and special teams as the Eagles (4-2) defeated Lehighton (2-4) Thursday night 41-13 in a Schuylkill/Colonial Gold Division game at Lehighton.

Tyler Miller led the way rushing and passing for a touchdown.

“Tyler threw the ball nicely tonight and ran the ball well,” said Blue Mountain Head Coach Tom Gallagher. “It really provided a spark for our offense tonight.”

The Blue Mountain defense made the first big play of the night. Gaige Guers intercepted an Owen Eckhart pass and returned it to the Lehighton 37.

The interception set up the Eagles’ first score of the night. Payton Fasnacht finished the drive off diving into the end zone for the three-yard touchdown run. Blue Mountain led 6-0.

On their next drive, Miller took over. His 42-yard run set up the Blue Eagles’ second touchdown of the quarter. He capped off the drive scoring from seven yards out. Miller got the two-point conversion to make it 14-0 Eagles.

In the first play of the second quarter, Lehighton’s Dylan Moyer went 27 yards for a score. As quickly as the Indians celebrated the touchdown, the Eagles responded.

Reese Miller took the kick-off and went 75 yards for a score. The Eagles extended their lead before halftime to 26-6 when Miller hit William Jacobson for a four-yard touchdown pass in the corner of the endzone.

In the first half, the Offensive/Defensive lines dominated the Indians giving Miller time to pass and opening up big holes for the running game. The Eagles led 26-6 at halftime.

“Our offensive line did a great job tonight blocking and they came out to play tonight,” said Gallagher. “It was a total team effort and our defensive line did an excellent job causing pressure and we had multiple interceptions tonight.”

The Eagles dominated the second half. Lukas Kauffman added to the Blue Eagles lead with a two-yard touchdown run. Hunter Blankenhorn had an interception to put them ahead 41-6 in the fourth quarter.

Moyer got the Indians their final touchdown of the night. He scored a three-yard touchdown.

Up next for Blue Mountain. The Eagles hit the road next weekend and travel to Wilson Area.

Up next for Lehighton. The Indians are home against Bangor.
