2014 Team Preview: Shamokin (4)

Q. What are the key things we should know about your offense?

A. This year we are getting off to a late start due to not being hired until June 27th. We will be spreading things out this year because we will have speed at the running back and receiver positions.

We also have a four-year starter at quarterback in Tucker Yost.

At running back we have senior John Demsko, and junior Preston Burns returning from knee surgery will also play the slot receiver. Junior Ty Berge and Freshman Devin Piekiewicz could see a lot of time at running back.

At the receiver spot we have junior Thomas Campbell, junior Nate Shurock, and junior Russ Henz battling for a spot.

At TE we have senior Logan Mirolli. Returners on the line we have Seniors Alek Bonshock, Christian Duganitz, Mitch McGinn, K.C. Long and Junior Garrett Zalar.

Q. What are the key things we should know about your defense?

A. Defense we will be running a 4-4 base with junior Garrett Zalar anchoring at the linebacker position.

Returning starters include John Demsko, Logan Mirolli, Alex Bonshock, Christian Duganitz, and Ty Berge.

Q. What are the key things we should know about your special teams? Who are your kick and punt returners? Who are your kicker and punter?

A. Special teams will be a key factor for this year, with sophomore Alek Washuta handling the kickoff and extra point duties.

Kick and punt return duties could be split by a few different players, Preston Burns, John Demsxo, Devin Piekiewicz, or Ty Berge.
