2014 Team Preview: Notre Dame (11)

Offense: For the first time in my six years here we believe we will be able to establish the running game. We believe if the offensive line plays as big as they are, the running backs we have will always have positive yardage.

Keys to our running game will be the front with OG Sean Stackhouse and OT Cody Georges both Juniors with Varsity starts as sophomores. Manning the right side of the OL – in addition is 2-year starter Anthony Estephan at left guard and Anthonio Basill at left tackle. Sr Tanner Stout will be at center and ILB respectively.

As far as the running game we have a three headed monster – led by Sr Trey Watson , Sr Kyle Arrington and Soph Mitch Daniels. All have the ability to run between the tackles, gain the edge on the outside  and take it to the house.

Our passing game will be solid with either Sr Nick Brotzman or Jr Nick Basenese throwing the ball to a very athletic and capable core of receivers. We are also high on Soph QB Drew Harris.

 

Defense: Each year for the past three years we have been in the top five in the league in defense. We have a group of kids that run to the ball and will put a hit on you. We have changed to a multiple front team and I’m real excited about our potential.

We will be led by DT Cody Georges (Jr), DE/OLB Josh Holloway (Sr), ILB Tanner Stout (Sr), and 4-year starter SS Trey Watson (Sr).

In addition we have a very fast and athletic secondary led by Watson, Daniels, Arrington and Basenese, with both Austin Kaulius and Tim Constantino ( Sophomores) providing quality relief for the starters.

 

Special Teams – Our Kicker and PAT man will be handled by Jr. Brett Nesfeder ( Soccer player) , With Jr. Kevin Dadio ( Soccer Player) handling the punting duties, backed up by Basenese and Constantino.

Our returners on Punts and Kickoffs will be Watson, Daniels and Arrington.
