  1. @ AJ:

Yea, no district boundaries. It’s gotta help.
PCC can pull from entire city of Pittsburg & suburbs. That’s a lot of kids.
I know we heard this before, but c’mon guys, you know it’s true.

  2. @ Jive those kids were on last years team (D. Williams and B. Chatman) I know this years team pretty good and don’t know of any that are transfers.

  3. everyone is not giving the Berwick Dawgs a chance why is this? Let’s bring another state title home and prove all the haters wrong GO DAWGS!!!

  4. @Jim B
Yes, it has been a 10-year drought for Sub One and D1 in the title match game. And, I believe you are correct again in your assessment of District 7 alias WPIAL. I’m a D1, Sub One fan because it contains the teams I have followed since 1951. We had a good run 1991 through 2004 in class 4A; but D1 has been practically all class 4A oriented. Strath Haven was once powerful in 3A, but we have never been strong in 1a or 2A.

  5. @AJ,
I’ve gone through it a couple times and keep coming up with 7 Catholic. I’m not familiar with the western side of the state so I’m probably wrong on this one. Who are the 8 Catholics?

  6. WHEN WILL FINALS BE POSTED FOR AAA AND AAAA ? LOOKING FOR WHERE AND TIME FOR BOTH SIDES.. I’LL KEEP CHECKING TO SEE WHATS UP. IF ANYBODY KNOWS LET ME KNOW THANKS… DEC 6/7

  7. 8 of the 16 remaining teams left in the playoffs are Catholic Schools, including 3 out of 4 in 3A. Anyone have any thoughts?

  8. @ Buddy

Dude, I totally agree with you. I don’t understand how Neshaminy got smacked by Pennsbury but crushed North Penn who beat up Pennsbury. I know that comparing games doesn’t always work but still, it is perplexing. By rights, Neshaminy should have stomped Pennsbury.

  9. PIAA RELEASES DATE AND TIME FOR WOOD VS BERWICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The game will be played somewhere in Potter County on Thursday night. The strange time and location is to allow all of the Berwick fans time to get out of their tree stands and clean up for the game. Deer hunting season starts in a few hours and PIAA didn’t want Berwick fans to miss deer hunting just to watch their team get beaten like a drum, so they are taking the game up north. There you have it.

The Sub One? Are you kidding me? When was the last time a Sub One team won a state title?

High school football in PA belongs to the WPIAL. Since 2007, when D12 joined the PIAA, the WPIAL has won 10 State Titles compared to a COMBINED 3 for D1 AND D12.

WOW, has it really been 10 years since a team from District 1 won the big one?

  11. @Jive
I know but I like that aspect of the offense. They don’t pass always but it’s there as a weapon. Nyeem Bonner is not bad as a QB though. #7 Rahmir Johnson is one of the young stable of HB’s, a 10th grader no less. He played a lot on the JV team.

  12. @Fwgritty,
Bonner stepping in at QB may actually benefit Imhotep. Running the ball is their bread and butter. Catty’s best defense was Imhotep throwing the ball. Maybe this will get Scott a couple more carries, he is insane, always a threat with the ball in his hands. Where did #7 come from? Dude has ridiculous speed around the edge.

  13. @Bias Billy,
Who wouldn’t be a fool to count out an undefeated Curry team? He is mightier than the Gods of Olympus, right? Wow! You are quite the fan, I gotta give you that much. I’ve never, ever, seen a column writer for any site talk smack on a thread. You definitely got me laughing, so thanks for that.

  14. @reddawgs77 – the throw at before the Half showed me that Wood’s qb should not be starting. It appeared to me he couldn’t throw the ball more then 30 yards. He should have had 4 int if the rtp wasn’t called. All 3 int were on him.

  15. Who called Neshaminy winning District 1 after week 3? Yep, that’s right. Very surprised at the score even though their defense has been solid all year.

Should be a very tough game next week regardless of their opponent.
