  1. Question to Neshaminy:

    How did Pennsbury beat you ? Not only did they beat you, they shut you out ( save 3 points)!
    How? Was your RB out for that game? That’s the only thing I can conclude.

  2. Doug
    You are correct Berwick fans get do riled up its hilarious. Say one thing negative and they all start crying. Holy cow.

  3. @d6..cool…we’ll have to attend a future game together

    @ everyone else, breaking news: Berwick/wood game cancelled because everyone from Philly says Dawgs don’t stand a chance.

    And Jive, I’m not biased…I never count out an undefeated Curry team…never. You’d have to be a fool to do so. I’ll bet you were one who never thought Wyomissing should have never been on the field with Imhotep last year.

  4. HAHAHA here comes bias billy to the thread. Wood’s QB will not makes a difference in this game. They will run behind their 1500lb line, up and down the field. Only chance Berwick has is if Wood’s bus breaks down. Anybody know where this game will be played?

  5. Christmas Cheer,
    You are spot on in your post. Wood rolls Berwick but loses to
    Prep or McD in final. They are one year away from Gold again. Although I will say Monaghan at QB was much better than what they have now. Wood will lose in the Chsmp Game this year because they are very weak at QB and almost no passing game. Three easy TDs were under thrown last night by 5 yards for INT. They needed to give the other Soph a shot or the Junior backup earlier in the year. But too late at this point

    Note to Berwick: Stack 9 in the box all game long.

  6. @Splain

    That was my point exactly yes they did lose twice because they are young and inconsistent. They are certainly not unbeatable but Berwick won’t be the one to do it.

    @Jim B

    You are living in the past, the power shifted away from leagues like Wyoming Valley many years ago, never to return. Once in a while someone from that league may stick its head out and surprise but the consistent power year after year now resides in the Suburban One and Phila Catholic Leagues.

  7. @DanD,

    That’s good stuff my friend!. There is nothing that galvanizes a town quite like its HS football team……..Does Berwick have a chance? absolutely! DO I think they are big underdogs? yes. But as I always say…that why they play the games….I think Wood will win because of team speed. I was at the Berwick/Beca game and saw that Berwick had much trouble with Beca’s speed. For most of the game their WR’s were wide open all over the field. And to be quite honest Beca is a very average team…..Whichever team wins unfortunately looks like they will be playing for 2nd. I watched Mcdevitt last nite and WOW! Players everywhere! and they may not even beat Erin prep lol

  8. lol @ Doug….where you get your book odds on HS football? lol……and Xmas cheer…didn’t Wood lose twice??? Why, yes they did

  9. Wood was a very good team as I expected. The public league stands no shot against a team that recruits. I will say that Wood’s starting quarterback is not very good. He made 2 good throws besides that everything was under thrown. I still don’t know how your 6’2+ and can’t throw a football more then 30 yards.

  10. Christmas Cheer
    What “league” do you represent? I would bet the Wyoming Valley Confernce’s eight State Tiltes are more then your “league”.

  11. I admit I’m from Berwick and hope we beat Wood but I’m not going to cry if we don’t. I’m sure Wood is great and is stacked for years to come, however last I checked Berwicks 7/8 team, freshman team, and jv team all went undefeated so Berwick isn’t going anywhere the next few years. Will they win a state title this or next year who knows. I do know that this season has brought the town together and it truly feels like the old days. Over the last 30 years Berwick always played the big programs. St ignatious, McDevitt when they had McCoy. Manheim when they had Jeff Smoker, ACC, Strath haven. Did they win every game maybe not but everyone was close and for whatever reason they always seem to come back the next year and win. So instead of constantly just saying Berwick has no chance lets just wait and enjoy the game. You have no idea what could happen. Weather, turnovers and injuries could come into play. Unlike some of these posts I just hope for a great game. Win or lose it will build character. Once again I will be cheering for the Dawgs but I’m not here to predict winners and losers I just hope for another classic football game that we can talk about for years to come!

  12. Berwick is a 21 point under dog to Wood, and if they manage to shock the Vikes, they will enter the title game as 28 point under dogs to Prep or McD.

  13. @ Colin

    Okay I’ll get it started…..Wood rolls over Berwick, they just don’t see that size and speed and overall talent in the weak league that Berwick plays in. What’s alarming is that Wood is playing mostly juniors and sophs so may be a year early for state title. 2014 could be 2011 all over again for Wood.

    Neshaminy 42-7 over North Penn is a bit surprising, the score perhaps but not the outcome. North Penn was fool’s gold, they benefitted a great deal from what was the weakest Suburban One Continental in recent years and they were manhandled by the only three legit teams on their schedule. Give the Knights credit they played a little better in the playoffs but this was not one of NP’s better teams.

  14. First night went as expected. Clearfield didnt belong as usual, got lucky by playing in a weak bracket. McDevitt vs Prep will be a great game to watch next week. Neshaminy score surprised me.

  15. @Colin,
    Funny!

    @eric,
    I don’t know if they will use the school yard across the street, even if they do it’s not good. Not a bad neighborhood at all, street parking is around. Park a few blocks away and walk on up.
