  1. AJ you were at both games on the same night at the same time how the hell did u do that bud? An yes if u did go to the berwick game u did see a pretty vanilla offense on that night.. Burwick has a 2000yard passer so they can’t be that vanilla.. But like I said before why get fancy when u don’t have to be if your running the ball right up the gut for 5. 6 yards a pop and they can’t stop it then why stop it right. And yes parkland is a good football team but u can’t say this team would kill this team cuz they only beat this team by a few points different teams cause different problems different matchups coaching injuries turnovers etc.. And the whole rankings crap well that’s just what it is Half the people that rank these teams probably don’t even see these teams play so take those rankings for what they’re worth nothing..

Totally agree with you on this. I have seen Parkland play and I was at the Becahi vs Berwick game. I walked away from that game thoroughly unimpressed with Berwick. If Dawgs93 thinks that Becahi had good fast team with great athletes, then he hasn’t seen Parkland for sure. Berwick does not have great skill position kids, and honestly their lineman are not very agile. They were able to pound the ball between the tackles against an inferior and undersized Becahi defense. AND they only won the game by 2 points. That will not work against superior teams. As I told Dawg93 in another thread, and I know he thinks I am nuts, but if they face Wood in the semi final they could lose by 28-35 points and potentially get mercy ruled. Not a knock on Berwick or Curry, they are having a great season but to compare the Berwick team that I watched the other night to Parkland is not even close.

  3. Clearfield has a 1900 yard Rusher which is the quarterback a1200 yard rusher and an 800 yard rusher hardly ever pass the ball they average 335 yards rushing a game only average bout 60 yards passing a game.. It could be a tuff game District 9 isn’t known to be real powerful but anything can happen but if we go there an play for 48 min like we can play it should be a good win..

  4. Those Old Forge linemen are the same kids from last year’s team. If Old Forge had beaten Dunmore last year I believe they would have been there at the end. Last year’s D-2 “A” final score was 7-6.

  5. @ Dawgs93

I don’t make the rankings and was merly stating an opinion on observation on the eye test on seeing 7 of the top 10 teams in the rankings play this year. Yes I was at Parkland vs Bethelehem Catholic and Yes also at Berwick vs Bethlehem Catholic ,and wasn’t impressed by Berwick. You obviously haven’t seen Parkland play this year or you would agree with me. Also, if people didn’t care about rankings then why do they keep them?

  6. @d6football

Thank you for the insight; what you said is a mouthful in reality. Not many of the eastern posters’ on this thread have seen many of the western districts’ teams play I would think.

  7. @Phillips,
Pretty sure 12 men in the huddle is the same as a delay of game, 5 yds. Defense can have 100 in the huddle as long as 11 are on the field when the ball is snapped.

  8. Berwick should be favored over Clearfield. I have watched Clearfield numerous times and their lines do not compare with Berwicks. They do have a Boston College kid at QB who is good, but he is the entire team.

  9. @Buddy

I haven’t seen Berwick personally since 2004 and have never seen Clearfield. Overall stats are mirror images almost – both 13-0;Berwick scoring 40.54 and Clearfield 40.62 per game. Same on D; the Dawgs’ allowing 10.85, and the Bisons’ 12.69; overall pretty close. I don’t know the playoff history of D9, but only two teams (both 1A) have ever reached the finals from D9, and both lost. I think this has the real potential to be a good close one.

  10. wow how strong are thouse Old Forge kids ?SCA was rotating linemen all night and Old Forge was still strong in the 4th quarter!Hats off to Old Forge and Berwick go D2

  11. AJ. Who cares about ranking they mean nothing their good for toilet paper that’s bout it o berwick is ahead of parkland who cares an parkland would kill berwick how u know did we play? No. Parkland beat becahi by this much an berwick only beat em by this much u can’t go by that crap especially when it comes to high school kids an a lot of teams get better every week.. U go by the berwick becahi game u prob weren’t even there I was an not taken nothin away from becahi they have a good fast team with some great athletes but truth is curry prob did even get past his first page in the play book didn’t have to we ran the ball 50 times 45 of them right up the middle same play same formation they knew it was commin an still coulded stop it didn’t show anything fancy an didn’t have to just good old smash mouth football.. So anything else u guys wanna talk about?

  12. @ aj

while i sort of have the belief that teams get better and its all about how a team plays on that particular day. you are right. i was at the parkland game because becahi is my alma mater and it was not nearly as close as the score says. ive never seen berwick but becahi could play parkland 100 times and probably lose all 100 times. so parkland would probably beat up on berwick.

  13. Can someone tell me who Imhotep plays on Thanksgiving and is it definitely Thanksgiving Day? Just asking since people say one thing (King) and this website says another (BL).

  14. Not sure why Berwick is ranked higher than Parkland. Just lookng at a common opponent. Parkland beat Bethlehem Catholic 49-6 and Berwick barely beat Bethlehem Catholic 29-27. Parkland the better team and would have way too much speed and destroy Berwick if they ever played.

    My east big school rankings

    1. McDevitt
    2. Manheim
    3. Prep
    4. Parkland
    5. Wood
    6. North Penn
    7. Neshaminy
    8. Lower Dauphin
    9. Cumberland Valley
    10. Berwick

  15. @ Dave Mika:
    About the NP/Neshaminy game.

Your website says it’s at Souderton.
Phila. Inquirer say’s it’s at Coatesville.

Can you shed some light on this please?
