  1. The facts… I guess imhotep kids need motivation? Coaching and talent not enough? Hand up from the piaa not enough for Albie? Tens of thousands more kids to build a team from than the rest of AA teams not enough for Albie et al? Bye week? What’s it all about Albie? Lol!

OL coach… “Intra-districts”? Let me school you. That means within districts. You must mean Inter-districts…as in D11 plays D12. But in any case you would be wrong. Talking about state semifinals. But let’s look at the quarterfinals Pen Argyl vs. Imhotep last year. They played it at Northern Lehigh in Slatington. That is a 45 minute ride from Pen Argyl. A normal road game drive for them. Guess where WC and IC play when teams have to come down there? Sometimes literally right on their home field. WC met Lanc. Cath. half way in Coatesville 2 years. The other years were played in Hershey. ha ha… Yes, D12 needs all they help they can get from PIAA. Might as well give them limo rides with hot cocoa and a police escort. What a shame for the kids who deserve to know the true spirit and satisfaction of competition.

Albie hears the rest of the state telling them to take their all star show and pack it up. The rest of the state plays untainted ball.

  2. Just when I had planned to give RRMark some props for some of his recent posts on another board, I come here… and there you have the return of the RRMark that even members of his home base call ridiculous.

So you feel that the other teams in district 1/12 AA subregion are pee-wee teams. Hmm, I would venture a bet that West Catholic, Springfield-Montco, New Hope Solesbury and probably even Prep Charter would come to your district and make considerable noise. What games have you been to down here to put down these other programs? Instead of reading the bs that others write why don’t you come see the Imhotep program in person. Or here, I’ll give you a link to see what some of these kids live through: http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/local/232217361.html

If you don’t know the rules on the scheduling, do the research before talking crap. In case you didn’t know District 12 when they host playoff games has 3 super sites suitable to play state playoff games. The Benjamin L. Johnson (Northwest) super site is actually the closest for the rest of the stat, being only a couple of minutes of of Route 309 and the PA Turnpike. That is why the games wound up there.

Maybe it’s the fear you have that your team, like you, may be inadequate? I like to watch the young men play the game of football, but can’t stand the adults with minimal mental acuity try to play verbal games to justify their fear.

Tick tock, tick tock…your time is winding down.

  3. Imhotep played a LaSalle team that was without two of their best players because of injury. Herron tried to give it go but only played one series and Zaire Franklin also was out. Both of these players are 1st team all catholic and possibly will make all state teams. So before IC pounds it’s chest about LaSalle consider all the facts. The problem I have with the IC faithful is that they seem to forget high school is about academics. How can you recruit kids in good faith to a high school with such poor academics? They are truly talented but to put them in the likes of SJP, LS, Wood is truly disrespectful. My feeling is that the IC hype will come down to earth in a couple of years. If IC can be a power as long as the other schools I mentioned I will be the first to sing their praises. Until then, they are a good public league football factory.

  4. @ Fwgritty

IC does get a lot of respect for the team it has compiled together and the talent it is made up of. People on here just do not see them as a traditional AA school, because they aren’t. They are an all-star team. They will win the AA state title hands down. They should be competing in a higher class. The team from out west which they may play (from Aliquippa) is an A school that plays in class AA. Same thing as Jeanette. Look them up. Their numbers are class A but they play in AA. Imhotep can be whatever class they want, it just depends on how many kids the school decides to let in.
I would have much rather have seen them battle with Prep than teams they will obliterate. Catasauqua may not beat Lake Lehman but I can almost guarantee one thing. Bye week or not, IC will destroy Catty or Lehman. They can’t match up against IC’s team speed and power. Too much talent to take on. Aliquippa, if they are the team in AA from the west, will be beat up from the WPIAL games and western finals. With or without a week off, they don’t compare in talent to IC.
IC, can compete with any AAAA school in this state. They may or may not win but they can stay with any of them. I am telling you all, at the end of this season, we will all be hearing about how IC is “arguably” the best team in the state. Because that is all anyone can do is argue it. They faced one PCL school that is a contender and that is La Salle. What if this IC team played in the class they should have played in? What if… Because of that, the AAAA champ will be called the best team in PA this year. They have a right to that title.

  5. It crazy how IC still doesn’t get the respect from the rest of the PA HS Football followers. Week by week they play the teams in front of them regardless of where they come from (ECA & Card. Mooney) from Md and Ohio respectively. They played LaSalle and Bonner-Prendie from the PCL and handled them with ease. This team had a good foundation before Coach Albie took them over the top. Wyomissing was a good team that had been together for 3-4 years. We’re not crying over it because they were the better team. This year is different, the teams more focused for the playoffs this year.

  6. Pen argyl played imhotep at northern lehigh last year so catasauqua will have to play down by philly if they beat lake-lehman but if you remember wyomissing went to philly and beat imhotep so anything is possible

  7. @RRMark, please learn the PIAA rules on where and when intradistrict playoff games can be scheduled. You’re posting things that should embarrass you like only Philly teams get home games.

  8. When did I ever talk down the Imhotep team and talk up Catty like they were unbeatable? Never is the answer. Who knows if they even beat Lake Lehman. We play real districts where there isn’t just one all-star team and a bunch of pee wee’s in comparison. You know, the real spirit of competition. Not a school that stays one kid under the AAA level just do they’ll have a better chance at state gold. lol… Sounds like somebody feels a little inadequate in other areas and has to live vicariously through 17-18 year olds on a football field. I feel sorry for ya. Or maybe its just that Wyomissing rash that is still hanging with you all these months. Can make a man all feverish. Good luck to the IC kids on their bye week vacation.

  9. @RRmark
Imhotep will have to travel to the semis this year. They alternate every year.

Well, I looked over the past few years and the semi’s were either right in Philly, Hershey (neutral) or twice for West Catholic vs. Lancaster Catholic, in Coatesville which is hardly in Lancaster’s back yard. 45 min. ride from Lanc. and 54 min. from Philly. Seems like philly teams are the only ones getting a home game. Just an observation.

  10. i hate to say i told you so but if you check my comment(august 3rd )i did say dunmore lost too many quality players from last years squad ie;(mike kolcharno, jake korgeski john rinaldi corey jones matt o’connor mike boland austin seamon) these 7 guys were all starters on offense and defense. not easy to replace,in fact impossible. that being said dunmore had a great year, congratulations to them and congratulations to old forge and good luck to the blue devils in the state playoffs. i do think that d-2,especially single A was terrible this year. dunmore and old forge are very good teams but the competition is the worst i have ever seen it.

  11. If Catty wins, they will have to play Imhotep right in the heart of Germanttown.. Hostile PANTHER-NATION where the fans and the environment is extremely friendly but between the lines it gets very hostile.. It will be a GREAT game thanks to the post on this site and numerous others from RRMarks who is Catty’s talking piece… I believe those Tep kids read every word and are looking forward to proving him wrong.

  12. I’ll let Perk Valley and Buddy go back and forth all week leading up to the game between their respective school!

But it played out just like I said it would.

From My November 10th post to tank!

“NP is better then you think and better then Pennsbury defensively.

My perspective based on SEEING them play.

    Offense- Pennsbury
    Defense- North Penn
    Special Teams- NP Kicker
    Coaching North Penn”

They ran well early, but north Penn D made some plays to slow them a bit here and there and won the turnover game!

Pennsbury could not stop North Penn’s ground game and the QB was sharp and efficient.

Pennsbury was out coached for 48 minutes.

Don’t know a thing about Perk Valley, but after putting up 60+ You have to wonder.

    Should be a great game!!!!

    3 SOL teams left!

  13. Just got home from the game. Perk Valley defeats CB West 60-20!!!!! Great game Vikings! Congrats to the Bucks on another fine season.
