  1. @O.L coach. Again look at my predictions on 11/6.

People this is a forum where you talk about the teams you know. I’ve even asked about teams I don’t know.

So if we’re going by AAAA, AAA, etc.. Imhotep is one of the best teams in the state and beat Lasalle. Pottsgrove is AAA and won their league but Springford and Pek Valley both just advanced in the first round. Sometimes these AAA teams aren’t bad, they are just small schools. Most of the time bigger schools do have the advantage and teams like North Penn are large schools compared to Chesmont teams ,but its not like Checo teams or Delco teams have not made noise in the district and state playoffs.

  2. @PCL AAAA guy,
Almost missed your post, it was in the middle of 15 posts, one of which was mine. I’m happy to see you have taken quite an interest in my posts. You can follow me on twitter @pclaaaaguyrules.

  3. @ol coach,
Sorry if you thought I was talking to you when I say let’s discuss something. I generally talk to a few guys who’s opinions I respect and am looking for their ideas on things. You are not one of those guys. Sorry again if you misinterpreted my comment as being directed towards you.

  4. Lets see how Berwick does against AH…assuming of course they beat Crestwood. Berwick hasn’t played a tough team since WVW 6-7 weeks ago.

  5. @PCLAAAA guy, you’re right, I especially love when Jive posts “ok, lets all discuss what I find comical …”

Uh, how about, let’s not. How about we’ll all discuss what we want, not what Jive wants.

  6. @Tank and anyone else who was on here touting Chester-Delco teams.

You need to start looking at strength of schedule, league strength as well as individual team strength. An impressive record in the chester-delco area isn’t all that impressive due to the weak conference ratings. Hell, many of the AAAA teams out there play close to a majority of their games against AAA competition.

You all need to start looking past records and evaluate just how those records came about.

  7. Maybe Jive Turkey has a point about the strength of schedule. I don’t know how many undefeated teams have gotten bounced in the first round in the last several years: CB South, Ridley, Rustin, D’town East etc. I think North Penn may be a little too ambitious. Maybe somewhere in between is the key.

Anybody out there follow D7 or D3, was wondering who is expected to emerge from the WPIAL AAAA, probably PCC or Upper St. Clair? And what about Wilson West Lawn, are they for real?

  8. @ Tank,
Never said that you said Chest-mont was powerful. I said powerful. To make it easier for you to read I put it in parentheses, gave it it’s own paragraph, had a bunch of arrows pointing at, and labeled it Tanks quote. Guess next time I’ll see if they can somehow print it in neon letters to make it easier for you.

I’m not gonna bash Worley at all, too nice of a kid. However, the only playoff team they played with him, they beat by 13. They only put up 14 against D-town East. I think the kid is a great player, but I stand by what I said. He is not a 31 point difference maker, especially against playoff teams.

  9. Congrats to ESS, still not sold on them and this week vs a healthy Easton will show if they are for real. @ trad31, never sold on Prep, good, not playoffs good. @ Easton24, WVW coach making decision to go for 2 cost him. Take the tie and momentum especially since they scored twice in 4th qtr. It will be long off season for WVW coaches.

  10. Drove 2hrs to see Easton vs Wyoming Valley W game. I have to tip my hat to the 6’5 QB WVW had he was very good. Easton was without Shane Simpson and a starting linebacker however next man up Kyle Bambary ran almost 260 yards. For a 1 pt Easton win, won in the 4th qtr. WVW was down 2 touchdowns and scored twice in the 4th qtr. Down by 1 with under 1 minute to go WVW opted to go for the 2pt conversion instead of the tie and going OT. The QB stumbles w the ball…bad handoff and as a result RB gets tackled in the backfield with 20 seconds on the clock and Easton wins. Awesome game.

  11. This forum is off the rails and has been for some time. I mean can anyone get a word in other than Jive Turkey? He’s on here every other post. Jive Turkey should just have his own blog and if your interested in what he has to say you can go somewhere to follow him. PA Preps has it all over this Forum.

  12. @jiveturkey. Though I agree with you Coatesville was overrated as being top ranked in the state, Worley is 31 pt difference maker in HS. Look at his YPC avg and he is a D1 D-back. D West beat Coatesville 24-7 without him. They aren’t better than Coatesville. Those kids gave up two weeks ago when he went down. They were just going through the motions the last two weeks . This isn’t the NFL, top college D1 schools where you can just plug and play people. NP’s D1 schedule was weak and that’s facts. You can only play who is in front of you. I don’t think Coatesville would have beaten anyone in the first round. I love the way you dudes twist words to attempt to make yourselves look good. I spoke pretty factual and can admit when I’m wrong but I’ve been pretty spot on. Even saying Rustin had a tough first round draw.

  13. @joker1 my post about the size of Rustin’s school was way before the game was played so not sure how that’s an excuse. FACTS. Did you not make a statement on what NP has done the last 12 years, and ask what Rustin has done? I just answered your question and gave you the history. It had nothing to do with the game. So Rustin made the Playoffs in all three years they’ve been in AAAA? Not bad I’d say. One loss in the playoffs doesn’t make you bad the last time I checked.

  14. I went to the Rustin- Perk Valley game and Rustin was out coached. By dropping back in a zone and not sending anyone to pressure the QB he stood back and made easy plays especially on 3rd down. It was a momentum game where Rustin fumbled on the third possession, dropped a wide open TD pass on 4th down towards the end of the half to go up 7-6, offsides on 4th and inches at about the 16. There was a drive earlier in the game where Rustin was punching the ball down their throats and the coach gets to about the 20 and calls a pass play for no reason and loses about 7-10 yds on a sack. Perk Valley’s D did a great job keying on Loper and Rustin’s coach did an awful job of using the other athletes he has on the team.
I didn’t walk away too impressed with Perk Valley as a team. Though there D is pretty good, Rustin is very vanilla in their offensive approach. I think Rustin has a better team but Perk had the better game plan, and in game coaching . I do like Perk Valley’s QB, very poised and holds the ball and looks off defenders well. The key to beating them is pressure, by dropping back in a zone you’re asking for it because he will find the open man and if all else fails he can run to move the chains. Great win by Perk Valley and their kids.

  15. @jiveturkey. Show me once where I said the Chesmont was powerful. I said say what you want but they had 4 teams in the playoffs and three at home. FACTS. If you look at my actual predictions from 11/6, Rustin is the only Ches-Mont team I predicted to advance. Downingtown West was only a five seed because they beat a banged up Coatesville without Worley or their starting qb. D-West plays with heart but they are small and Spring-ford is pretty good. Plus 4 injuries to starters for DWest going into playoffs but its part of the game. No one had Coatesville winning after losing Worley. I said Pollard would run over Unionville. Perk-Valley over Rustin surprised me. So again Jive Turkey it’s okay to be happy but read all my posts if you’re going to call me out.

  16. Drew and Brett Gordon really had a poor outing tonight in my opinion. Didn’t like their gameplan at all. The wildcat was a total waste of offensive snaps. When you have a QB like LS does, you put the ball in his hands. Just my opinion.

The first time I can remember the Gordon’s gameplan looking totally out of order at this point in the season. A lot of that could be on SJP though..

Props to Gabe Infante and SJP. That’s a hell of a team. Could be a new era starting. I hope Chris Martin is ok to go a couple weeks from now.

  17. @hs fb fan

SJP did not outclass LS. They were out coached. Shurmur should have thrown a little more (run kept getting stopped) Wildcat didn’t work (unless sjp ran it) and went for 4th down conversions vs. field goal attempts. Defense couldn’t stop anyone. Still go back to what I said before. These kids were never given a shot the previous year. Lots of underclassmen got to play which should hopefully prepare them for next year. Ls will be back next year.

  18. @ Tank….

Oh… So now that Rustin showed the weren’t as good as you and Football fan made them out to be. So you go the excuse route of… the school is small, only been around 10 years, bla, bla, bla.
I love you guys who have your team, oh by the way has lost 3 times in the first round in the last 4 years beating everybody. They weren’t as good as you made them out to be, their opponents this year had a .500 record.

  19. @tsaf,
I hate to do it, but I’m gonna give you some ammo for the bye week debate. Just saw a pic on FB of Prep QB in some kind of full leg brace/air cast. Next week they play Frankford, most likely, and shouldn’t need him for that game. The following week is turkey day, won’t play. So hopefully, hopefully for Prep, he heals up in 3 weeks.

  20. @Tank,
“Say what you want about the chest-mont league, but 3 of 4 teams from that league are hosting games tonight”. <<<<<Tanks quote

Um Tank, ALL 3 LOST!!!!!! Tell me again how powerful that league is. The only thing I can think of pertaining to powerful, is the power they wasted lighting their fields tonight. Hey Tank & football fan, give me your predictions for next week. Wow, do you guys have any idea how hard it is to type while laughing hysterically?

  21. @football fan,
I was gonna put some kind of wise a** comment, but I’m sure you are upset enough about the loss, so I’ll leave it at that.

Let’s all talk about some stuff that I find absolutely comical. I said North Penn was a pretty good D1 team, and got mocked. They are undefeated in D1 so far, on to round 2. I said Rustin played a very weak schedule, mocked again. #2 seed knocked out in first round, blown out at that. I said Coatesville was good this year, but nothing close to what people thought they were. I said that before Worley got hurt. He is a big loss, but not a 31 point difference maker. Crushed in first round! The thing that I find comical is the people that mocked me actually follow D1. I’ll be going back and looking at past comments all week when I need to laugh. Looking forward to next week, good luck to all of the teams that are still playing for the title.

  22. Congrats SJP. Clearly outclassed LaSalle. LaSalle DB’s struggled. Play calling was inadequate. Taking a great QB out of the equation for an inept spread option was not good.
