  1. Look who crawled from under his rock…, that pick is laughable. Before making that pick, did you know that Prep Charter’s main QB, if he does play, would be returning from a separated shoulder?

Come on say it clearly, “Hello, my name is RRMark, and I’m an Imhotep hater.”

  2. @ Chest mont chuck
You make some valid points about some of the flaws in the PIAA State Championship system. District 12 benefits but so do other Districts. If a team has to play 5 post season games to get to the state final, then everyone should have to play 5 games. Anyone on this site can make a more fair bracket than the PIAA.

  3. Cville has had good teams all along just tough against the D1 mega School NP, Nesh. , CBW.The last couple of years is just a up cycle for them, some of the best players to ever wear the Red and Black.Ortega does a great job of getting the most out of every player.@ jive turkey they are the best in D1 but like everyone else they are high school kids and can lose any week.Ask 2012 Dtown East.Watch out for Rustin!!!Hope everybody has a great weekend.

  4. @ rrmarks u are a hater wow a grown man with so much hate for a team and its staff. Wow i hope u sleep well at night lol.

  5. @Jive & @Steve – 247Sports has Worley’s 40 time at 4.5 so who knows. (Rivals doesn’t list a 40 time).

With 947 high school males (per piaa.org) Coatesville always had the raw talent. It seems now they have someone finding it who can develop it.

Yeah, a C’ville/Prep eastern final would be a nice matchup. But they should never play that game at Villanova. They would charge an arm and a leg for admission. Prep played Malvern Prep there a few years back and they were charging $10 for a game that should have been $5. They should play the eastern final at the Eagles stadium at the same price as a normal playoff game which is $6 to $8. The Eagles should support this; after all that greedy organization was subsidized by tax payer money when they built that stadium. It’s the least they could do.

My picking an upset winner has about as much chance as me picking the exact date of the end of the world given a spread of 50 billion years to choose from. That said, I again looked at the District One Class 4A 27-team power points standing and their opponents for this week. Ten have 3A opponents, mostly with losing records and one even has a 2A opponent. Hard to pick an upset there. I would guess that the more evenly matched records would provide the best chance of a “mild upset.” These would be W C Rustin 7-0 vs Unionville 6-1; Council Rock North 5-2 vs Pennsbury 6-1; Boyertown 5-2 vs Perk Valley 6-1; North Penn 4-3 vs Pennridge 5-2; and W C East 4-3 vs D’Town West 5-2. Real, stunning upsets seem few and far between these days.

  8. Coatesville is the most talented team in Eastern PA. Everybody knew this team would be special going back to 1995 when all of these kids were being born in Coatesville hospital. One kid actually just ran a 3.7 40 in a race, and lost that race to a sophomore back-up offensive guard. There is still a slight chance they could get beat in the D1 playoffs. As long as they don’t have to play West Chester Rustin, Garnet Valley, Neshaminy, Pennsbury, or Abington they should have no problems. The Philly Catholic league is not that great, but I’m really worried about a LaSalle team, that has a good shot at finishing 3rd in a 5 team league. If we can avoid all of the good teams in D1 and make it to the Eastern final, I think we should have that game at Penn State. I’m positive 100,000 fans would show up to support C-Ville. I am thinking about closing my comment with the first of many excuses I’ll make as to why Prep is going to beat us, if we get to the final. Please Chest Pump Chuck, keep the comments coming. They are hands down the most entertaining comments I’ve read on here in a while.

  9. Steve, as a life long resident of coatesville and formal football player. Coatesville has always had the talent didn’t always have the best program. now they do. that being said coateville high school has a ton of wins in its history. I don’t know the total but would say its up there with anyone elses.

  10. No the sun does not rise and set on the Philly Catholic league. That’s why you play the games. just like last year.Cville could get beat in any round if they do not come to play.just like any other team. They are the most talented team in the east. But that’s why you play the game. They knew in Cville when these kids where in Jr.high there was something special.Their 40 are all legit.I would love to see a Prep Cville eastern final.Play it at Villanova. There would be 15000 fans there. But La Salle short passing game and revenge would be very tough for the Ville.O I forgot Cathloic league gets a By two weeks before the eastern final any rest at that time of the year would be terrific.Cville does not have kids living out of state and playing in the city.

  11. @????
OK, I’ll bite. I think you are dead on about that being a good game. In fact, I think it would be a very good game. I don’t think C-ville is in the top 3 in D1 AAAA, if that was the comparison you were looking for, but if that game were played and Tep were to win, that would be a good win against a good AAAA team.

  12. ESPN recruiting nation has Worley listed at 4.71. I really don’t care what he runs, just looking forward to seeing him play for the Nits next year. Just to keep it real though, why would ESPN lie?
I think when the statement was made about the 3 horse race in the Catholic League, it was about the run for 2nd place. LaSalle, Judge, and Roman all have an equal shot at finishing second this year.

  13. @PCF,
There’s a cacoon lake somewhere in Coatesville. I don’t know where this team has been hiding the last few decades, but things have changed under the current regime.

  14. Judge is much improved and will make the PCL playoffs as a 3 or 4 seed depending on if they beat Roman in two weeks.
Roman continues to fly under the radar. It wouldn’t shock me to see RC beat LaSalle this weekend.
If Ryan can’t pull the huge upset on the Prep in two weeks they will be out of the PCL playoffs as they will have zero league wins. So when everyone says Ryan is a team on the rise I ask how so?
Looks like they peaked in the preseason.

  15. Father Judge has displayed a competitive edge and Ryan has some talent also. I understand Prep and La Salle are the lead horses however Judge has made some great strides.

  16. @chest pump chuck

Wow, that’s a lot of speed! Now, I am convinced and see how I missed it. They were so quick I couldn’t see all that speed.

  17. @17th & G

All Db are 4.5 or better Worley is 4.4 one Lb is a 4.5 ILb is 4.7.The 2 corners and safety are D1 and other safety is 1AA. They have 9 returning starters on D from last year team.you said 7 on 7 in pads they hit anything that moves.
