  1. @ ches mont chuck

I saw some speed at the 7v7 this summer but not to the extent your claiming. Did I miss something?

  2. to red n black. Cville defense hasnt given up very many points to anyone they have played. pass defense most be doing something right. agree passing hasnt taken off yet. should be there later, but they really havent had to use it much. Will see how it plays out. like their chances though.

  3. District 1 AAAA is probably the hardest champ to predict other than District 7. WC Rustin, Coatesville, Neshaminy etc. Don’t count out Garnet V. I heard they are playing tough ball. There are also some good 1 loss teams. Even though it is week 8, still to early to tell for District 1.
PCL AAAA appears to be a 3 horse race. Will make for an interesting November.
Neither District 1 or 12 will get as much competition from the AAAA District 11/4/2 region. I would be shocked as the teams are just not as strong this season as those before. I think Parkland should win it but Easton or another can possibly knock them off.

  4. Coatesville team speed on D is killer everybody under 5.0 in 40 and 3 or 4 guys are 4.4 and 4.5 guys. And will hit you as you get off the bus.they are built for November and December.

  5. To raiderfan24/7
I’m not seeing what ur seeing?
They have a very weak pass defense.
    no pass offense!!!!!
offense line not doing a very good job against quality teams.
They run the same plays over n over, teams figure that out quick.
they will not make D1 finals!!!!!!!

  6. watching small schools in d-2 i have to say there are 2 good teams and all the others are terrible. look at the rushing stats d buckley 10 carries-222yds. b yescavage 5 carries 192yds. k miller 11 carries 192yds. earlier this year, western wayne’s tback ran for 350. buckleys average was22yds per carry yescavage averaged almost 40 yds per carry.these guys could hav run for 500 yds a game if they played 4 quarters. the bottom line is the competition is terrible

  7. Two interesting games coming up in the ches-mont on Friday that could have an impact in D1 standings overall. WC Rustin at Unionville and Coatesville at WC Henderson. Watch out for WC Henderson against coatesville. If the Red-Raiders don’t come out to play for 4 quarters they could be in for a dogfight. 7-0 Rustin vs 6-1 Unionville has grown to become a big rivalry and the game that leads to the ches-mont American title almost every year.

  8. @raiderfan:

I’m still sticking with my original prediction of Neshaminy over Coatesville in the D1 Final, but that might change depending on how Neshaminy handles their last two regular season games against Abington and Pennsbury, which will be by far their toughest challenges yet… WC Rustin is a solid team and could definitely make some noise as well but they’re not beating Coatesville… not this year at least.

  9. @D
The way I understand it (admittedly, I wasn’t there) Ryan was winning that game with 7 minutes left. It doesn’t sound like Judge handled them.

  10. D1 playoffs should be good.alot of good teams out there. Coatesville’s Defense is very good. alot better then last year. Offensively they are a ground and pound running team. look for them to get better at stretching the field. They have the talent to do it.

There’s obviously no guarantee that either SJP or LaSalle are in the PCL Ship. Clearly, Father Judge is pretty darn good too, as they Ryan pretty easily this weekend.

Whoever gets FJ in the playoffs is dealing with a tough team.

  12. I would like to personally thank Gabe Infante for playing a prevent defense and abandoning the passing game, aside from 1 drive where they needed a score, in the 2nd half. Your generosity kept a lot of folks off of the Walt Whitman last night, and for that I thank you. Moving forward, Ryan is basically out after losing to Judge today. The chances of them beating Prep are slim and none, and slim just went out for a burger. Prep will have the 1 seed. I think LaSalle will beat Roman next week. Roman’s pass defense is not very good, expect a big game for Shurmer. 2 seed goes to LaSalle. Prep should beat Judge next week. That creates quite a game in 2 weeks between Roman and Judge. That game will decide who plays Prep or LaSalle in the semis. If I’m LaSalle, I’m rooting hard for Roman in that one. A second match-up with Judge, for LaSalle, could throw a monkey wrench into the LaSalle-Prep championship game that everybody seems to be looking forward to. Don’t think a semi game will be played on grass, speed kills, and Judge has it in bunches. Probably gonna see LaSalle-Prep in the CL final, but after watching the first half last night, the half in which Prep played a true defense and didn’t try to stall and run out the clock, I still don’t think LaSalle has a snowballs chance.

  13. @ Major Tank
    Bit paranoid aren’t we?
No attempt to “tweak” ( whatever that means)
Just heard that prep was up quite a lot, was wondering if they laid back at the end.

Prep will beat them even worse in Nov. though.
    Once again………not a “tweak”.

  14. Imhotep, Eastern Christian was a good game. Eastern is absolutely loaded with major BCS talent at most positions. Imhotep put up a good fight.

  15. Everybody is assuming that LaSalle will meet Prep in the PCL final. There’s no guarantee of that. Wasn’t Judge up 16-0 on LaSalle? And Ryan and Roman are good enough to pull an upset.

  16. Buddy – Nice try to attempt to tweak the LaSalle followers. Not gonna work. It was absolutely that close LaSalle got their act together in the 2nd half after playing very poorly in the 1st half. Sets up a great showdown for the PCL title in November.

  17. Good win for SJP last night. If they meet in PCL finals it will be classic. Time management needs improvement for LaSalle and the d-backs need to hit and take down ball carriers..too much diving at the ankles. Shurmur has a tendency to throw too many int’s. If LaSalle get some basics covered they will be a tough match for Prep. Skills on both sides are tremendous.

  18. @ches mont chuck. I definitely agree with Rustin and Coatesville. Too many people are judging that Downingtown East game. D-east has a talented team and are not as bad as they are playing if that makes sense. Plus that rivalry is one of those games where you throw records out the window because anything can happen. Rustin is very tough as well and have just been playing on cruise control lately. Too bad Coatesville doesn’t play Rustin this year. Would love to see those two teams go at it.

  19. @phillyboy
That’s pretty bold saying prep will win going away in November. I believe people were saying the same thing last year after the first prep/lasalle game, and look what happened. There is no doubt prep has the better talent, however the gordons are the best at making adjustments, it will be really hard to beat them twice, should be a great game in November
