  1. @Joe Dobbs
I saw both Old Forge and Dunmore this year, and I like Dunmore as a whole slightly better than Old Forge. Two really good teams though, it’ll come down to the small things to decide the winner tonight. And I have a feeling after watching both that Dunmore has that edge, so I’ll say Dunmore over Old Forge in a close one.

  2. jarrico,
Whoa now, hold on. I don’t agree to disagree. What is your opinion, is the question at hand. You said I added words to what you said, I didn’t. You said that you didn’t make statements that you clearly did. Your response has done nothing to clear up your very confusing comment. If you made the comment after an all night bender, so be it, we’ve all been there. If you meant something other than what you wrote, we’ve all been there too. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, EVEN IF IT”S NOT CLEAR WHAT YOUR OPINION IS! My favorite statement you made was “you stand corrected”. Then you read your own statement again. Did you say to yourself, huh, I guess I stand corrected? No matter how silly or backwards your comment was, you’ll go down in flames with it. You da man, good hustle.

  3. @jarrico

it would be…. “THEN don’t comment…” Love it when a Pub School guy has to correct an educated PCL fan on grammar. Guess the nuns had the day off….or the rulers were in the closet. Appreciate JiveTurkey and his knowledge. At the end of the day, this ranking thing will figure itself out in about 6-8 weeks. It always does and the best teams advance. It’s freaking Sept 19th. A lot of football left this year. Just saying!!!!!!

  4. @jiveturkey, now we’ll get silly with grammer corrections, really? As I stated, ITS MY OPINION! If you don’t like it than dont comment on it! We’ll agree to disagree. I’ll leave it at that.

  5. District 11 is bad this year in 4A. Easton is most likely the best teams (not like we had a lot of success to begin with) but D12 will have no issues with the 3A or 4A D11 rep. The 3A rep most likely won’t get passed the D2 rep. I am sure if it is Easton who comes out they will make the game vs D12 closer than it should be, because of the make up of Easton kids. But we in District 11 are far cry what we were in the 1990’s up until until 09/10. The football is getting worse as the years go by.

  6. Hey you D11 guys, you guys think Easton is for real this year? Are they the top dog up there in the Lehigh Valley? What are their strengths and weaknesses?

  7. Jarrico,You state Coatesville plays a weak Chess-Mont schedule, but then again Imhotep plays a weak Public League Schedule! So I guess its a push and CD East is not a Push Over,And the Ville played them last week Beware of Southern Columbia !!!!!!

  8. @jarrico,
Here is your comment, grammar corrected, so you can educate me on what you meant.
I don’t understand these rankings? How can Coatesville be ranked #2, when they have such a weak schedule. If you are one of the best in the state, then you should play the BEST IN THE STATE. ARCHBISHOP WOOD, ST JOSEPH ETC. At that point, I believe they will deserve it. 9-15-13.

Maybe it’s me? I’ve read and reread this about 6 times, and can’t figure out what I’m missing here. I don’t think I put any words in your mouth. I’m actually pretty confused. Please let me know what you were trying to say, this is really boggling my mind.

  9. Maybe they are right about Imhotep though.
Albeit a AA team. Not sure how they would fare against some western teams ( like N. Allegheny etc.), I think Wood would give them the toughest game out here.

  10. If Maxpreps doesn’t have Prep, LaSalle or Neshaminy in the top ten in the state then they have no idea what they are talking about. It is a national service and they are not in touch with local talent evaluation. Aliquppa – a AA team? Wilson West Lawn? Seneca Valley? Clueless.

  11. What do you think could happen this week that would really shake up the state, and get people talking. Any teams you see on upset alert

  12. @JiveTurkey, stop adding your own words to what I said, Anybody interested, go back and read the post! I did not say Coatesville should have played wood or that they are the best in the state, so you stand corrected! I stand by what I said which is only my opinion. Coatesville plays in the weak ches-mont division! Since they were the runner up in 4 A last season, you would think they would schedule some tougher games this year to show it wasn’t a fluke, but what do you see ” the usual suspects” Avon Grove, Bishop shannahan, WC east!!! As I said” weak schedule” but it’s only my opinion!!!!

  13. Little surprised not to see Prep, LaSalle or Neshaminy somewhere in that ranking.

Of course, they might know something I don’t, that’s always possible.

  14. Jarrico, Seems to me your Hating on Coatesville,Who realy cares about the Schedules it all comes down to who makes the Playoffs and if they can make it to the Title game in Hershey Right? No need to get all wrapped up on Rankings, Take em one game at a time, and hopfully the yellow brick road will lead you to the Title game,Nough said.

  15. Maxpreps Pa Top 10 Ranked Football Teams

    # School

    1 Imhotep Charter (Philadelphia)
    2 Archbishop Wood (Warminster)
    3 Coatesville
    4 Wilson (West Lawn)
    5 Bishop McDevitt (Harrisburg)
    6 Cathedral Prep (Erie)
    7 Easton
    8 Aliquippa
    9 Seneca Valley (Harmony)
    10 Upper St. Clair

  16. Yes, Wood is very good. That was the point. The comment was made that Coatesville doesn’t deserve #2 ranking, because of a weak schedule. The commenter used Wood as an example of being a team Coatesville should have played, because Wood is best in state. My question to the commenter was how is Wood best in state, with a horrible opening 3 games, and Coatesville not with a much stronger first 3 games. I think they both deserve their respective rankings at this point, and I am a fan of neither. Just was a terrible analogy to put a team down.

  17. @ Chief raider
I hope you’re right man. You really think their defense is the best in the state? That’s a strong statement.

  18. Berwick,Abington and Scranton Prep are all good bets to make the playoff.I know it early but barring major injuries they should be in.the last spot i think is wide open with a team going 6-4 may sneek in.7-3 should be a lock for the last spot

  19. Because Wood IS good, I seen them play. Even though it pains me to say that.

Wood plays Prep. Very possibly they beat Prep.
Hope I’m wrong, but I see that happening
