  1. Be very aware of the Archbishop Ryan Raiders… LaSalle and St. Joe’s Prep, be very aware. This is not the same team that you have mercy ruled in past years. Don’t sleep on the Raiders this year. Frank Mcardle has put something very special together this year up on Academy Road…Judge transfer Samir Bullock was just the gravy on the mashers. Should be interesting.

  2. @ Totally unbiased

I don’t know why you’re trying to kick NP while they’re down. Lookded like a replay of the Bergen/LaSalle game.

  3. Coatesville is on another level right now. Just domination right now. Dismantled Cb South and coasted to a 46-13 beatdown.

  4. @Garver – King just lost to Mastery Charter 20-16. Not a good start to the season for them if they are going to make noise in their division. 0-2 is a big hole to climb out.

  5. @Steve, haha thanks, I’d love to be there. Got another game I have to attend at 4:00, pound ball. I will be watching the game on sports fan base network as soon as I get in the door. I’ll take a rain check on the dog. Will catch up at one of these games for sure.

  6. Jive,
Regarding tomorrow, I owe you a dog and beverage from last year. Meet us at concession stand ~1/2 hr. before game, I’m sure we’ll figure out who’s who.
Feel free to sit on our side if you desire after, don’t worry, IRA/Annuity background checks don’t start ’til week 3. You are more than welcome, we consider you family now!! 😉

  7. Imhotep comes in sky high tomorrow night to their detriment. They’ve been hearing it all week from the Pub faithful. Imhotep is expected to plant the flag for the PPL tommorow at Germantown. The Pub faithful have taken an “us vs them” mentality in this PIAA crossover match up. Don’t think for a minute Crosby hasn’t been listening either. Gordon and crew have taken a workman like business as usual approach as this week took shape. Coaching and discipline willl win this game for LaSalle. LaSalle has been in this spot over and over again. The Gordon’s will tell their players to enjoy the moment but play hard and have fun on this biggest city stage in sometime.

  8. @ OL,
I’m sure you have better info on the situation than I. I was told, what I was told, by numerous players and coaches but they’re probably all full of it. My point really was never about the kid, I was using him as an example of what goes on at most schools as far as trying to bring in players.

  9. Garver, MLK has a shot at 3A, but they already lost to Gratz in week one. I still think they’ll grab one of the 4 3A spots. For now, I guess we’d have to say that Gratz might be the early favorite. Also, I think Mastery North could make a little noise.

In 4A I believe that Frankford is solid favorites, if not heavy ones right now. GW should improve as year moves along. Them and Central could vie for a title spot against Frankford.

  10. Tonight will feature a great game between Coatesville and CB South; I have been comparing line size and feel CV will dominate on both sides of the ball. Hopefully the QB for CV can “manage” a good game and put his trust in the D and the best running back in the state.

  11. @Jive, you need to get your details about Rush straight; LaSalle never pursued or tried to bring in Rush, in fact, Rush pursued LaSalle.

He didn’t give the coaches a few choice words and leave; quite the contrary. No one player has ever been bigger than the team at LS; no one player ever will be.

Everyone wishes Clayton well aback at FJ. No tears shed, trust me.

  12. @phillyboy-

“Watch out for South Philadelphia this year. Long time AAA Public League power Bok combines with the AAAA South Philadelphia High. Could make for an interesting team”

Lost to Spring-Ford 34-0 with a freshman QB. If they ran the ball it would’ve been worse.

Now that you mentioned the pompoms, I do remember you. Were you not that ~6 y.o. girl with the Cindy Brady pigtails and cotton candy stained under shirt?
Your cheers were magnificent as I recall, we’ve got to hook you up with the Pep band. You showed more promise than the “Explorer”!! Keep up the good work, appreciate your support..

  14. I know this a PCL dominated board but I have a question about who will win the Public League AAA & AAAA. Does Martin Luther King have a chance in AAA along with Washington in AAAA?

  15. Phillyboy you could have also pointed out thar if Bret Gordon was the OC in the 2011 season they make it back to the state final.

  16. Phillyboy what you should be saying about the 2010 and 2011 LaSalle teams is how did Gordon win so many games with that QB.

  17. I know all you LaSalle guys love me and you should because I was rooting for them big time when they played Bergen. I was at PW doing my T.O. with the pompoms impression only to leave disappointed and confused. What happened to the legendary LaSalle passing game? It looked like a Bergen sack and track meet.

  18. Other than promises on financial obligations, I don’t know what was expected. Let’s just say, while trying to recruit the young man, folks made him feel very good about himself. Then when practices rolled around and the “you’re the man” treatment stopped, it did not go very well. Is this the only kid, only school this happens at? Again, no. Like I said before, they all do it, let’s not pretend it doesn’t happen at my school.

  19. LaSalle doesn’t benefit from transfers all that often. But like every school/program they’ll get one here and there. Not a big deal.

Landing Shurmur was nothing more than luck. They had squat to do with the Eagles firing Andy Reid, then hiring Chip Kelly, and in turn Kelly hiring Pat Shurmur.

Also, doubt very much that LS made any promises to the FJ transfer. To suggest that the kid acted out for not being treated like the man because LS gave him that impression is just a little sketchy to me.

  20. @Paul,
I’m certainly not a LaSalle expert, that’s why I ask about their team. However, LaSalle tried to bring in Judge’s all everything receiver this year. #1 for Judge put in the paperwork for the transfer and was practicing with the LaSalle team. He wanted to be treated like a superstar and was bickering with the LaSalle staff, so he told them a few choice things, and went back to Judge. Why did he expect special treatment? Because they gave it to him during the recruitment process. Is LaSalle the only team that does this? Hell no! But they do it, just like most of them.

  21. Size only goes so far. Quickness and discipline usually win. Imhotep rolled into the Wyomissing game thinking they were too good to lose… got thumped by a football team, not a bunch of players. I love to root for the “small” schools, but LaSalle takes this one.

  22. @ phillyboy

I have to agree with OL Coach. You really don’t know anything about the La Salle program. Name the last time there was a transfer to the football team. Shurmur transferred for a couple of reasons. One, his father got a new job in a new location. Imagine that. And second, he’s a two sport guy, swimming being the second sport. La Salle is the two time defending PIAA Swimming champs. BINGO!!! Cherry picking? I don’t think so.
