  1. Let the games begin>>>>
    Fri Predications
    Scranton 42 at Hazleton 6
    Dallas 6 at WVW 35
    Coughlin 33 at Tunkhannock 20
    Crestwood 8 at Berwick 35
Lehman 13 at Old Forge 27

  2. @ Ron. I had to pick one upset. I think WVW is getting major hype, especially Baur. While I believe it is well earned, I think this could be a trap game. They beat Dallas last year at Dallas (Dallas had much more talent last year). With everyone talking about District playoffs and the importance of beating Scranton and Del. Valley, I think there is a chance WVW might be in for a little surprise. No one is expecting much from Dallas, except perhaps the Dallas players. And most importantly, this is a rivalry game.

AH v. Pittston was a close one for me. I could have gone either way. JC Show and Hollander broker the tie breaker.

I think Crestwood will score a couple times because they do have some talented skill players – Aigeldinger and Popson (who has a cannon arm). But overall, the Berwick D will shut them down other than a long TD or two. I agree that Berwick is much improved from last year. They will be extremely hard to beat and with so much depth, the 4th quarter will belong to them.

  3. @ Groat Surprised you picked Dallas over WVW, my upset is Pittston over Abington Heights at home.dont think comets can stop passing game of Pittston. Berwick will maul Crestwood by 42-7 or more, Berwick is much better than 2012.

  4. @ wolfman
    – Yep NP had 100 kids!
    – Nope, kids like Shurmar, Iggy, etc,etc don’t walk onto NP campus from far away places to play there.
    – I don’t care about recruiting BS, they go for the education or cause the school the would have to go to has a horrible football program and the private schools can offer.
    – yep, Gordon’s a good coach.
    – you lost all credibility by inferring Beck, with 115 wins, conf., district and state championships in like 11 years can’t coach.
    – 1-5, 2-5, who cares coming from a homer like you. Just sayin!

  5. @PCL Fan, you were replying to SteveS who correctly pointed out that the D line will be the weakness for LS this year. They return one part time starter from last season and they are all undersized. SteveS was correct; whatever point you were trying to make got lost.

  6. Some D2 Predictions:

Old Forge over Lehman – 35-14
    Berwick over Crestwood – 42- 21
Scranton Prep over Wyoming Area – 21-14
    Northwest over Redeemer – 35-28
    AH over Pittston – 21-17
    Dallas over WVW – 24-21
    Coughlin over Tunkhannock – 28-14
    Lakeland over GAR – 35-14
    Scranton over Hazleton – 28-7

  7. @Rollie

Not surprised Johnson transferred to Coughlin. That is where he lives. He never lived in Dallas. Everyone knew it last year. I think there would have been just to much heat if he tried to play in Dallas again.

  8. @Jive, “the best team Prep is fielding this century. The only team that may give prep a game is Roman. Prep should win by 30,”

Wow, best team prep has had this century, will beat roman by 30. Looks like the rest of AAAA doesn’t stand a chance.

  9. Whoever did the Small school rankings forgot Old Forge.

That’s OK…they should work themselves in – and up – by season’s end.

    So should Dunmore.

You can remember I said this PRE-season!!!

  10. @O.L. Coach

Read my quote a little closer. I did not say three kids were in the top 5. You should not make so many posts past your bedtime.

  11. @Huck,
I’ll send you an email, you know I don’t like throwing kids names out there. teddycat10 correct?

  12. Jive, which kid listed is not a starter? Not saying your wrong. I’m just curious. I base my lists on what I saw last year and some things I hear. But it’s not gospel and sometimes inaccurate. Thanks.?

  13. @OLCoach,
Wind not changing at all. Still don’t think anybody in this state will touch Prep. LaSalle always reloads, I don’t see any reason why they this year would be any different. Just because they reload, doesn’t mean they are going to beat the best team Prep is fielding this century. The only team that may give prep a game is Roman. Prep should win by 30, but Roman has the athletes to make it a real shootout, and if they play an almost perfect game. Does that mean Roman has a shot this year? Hell no! However, their speed could offer problems if not prepared for, or they are taken lightly.

  14. @Pub School, what makes you think Coatesville can RELOAD, as you put it? Fact is, they’ve not won a thing, back to back, have they? So, where did I miss the reload?

Coach Orgega will do a nice job at Coatesville; will it happen overnight? No.

Will Coatesville have a good season this year? Yes.

    Is that reloading? No.

  15. PCL Fan; w2here do you get your “quotes”?

    “@SteveS

The LaSalle line is weak? Compared to what? Huck has 3 DL guys listed in his top players in the PCL. One of them in his top 5 college recruits. I am not too worried about the line. These guyshave the size and LaSalle has the coaching.”

Fact is, I don’t believe Huck has 3 of his top 5 players at DL. If he did. they’re sure not LS players. Secondly, LS’ D line is undersized and will be a weakness all season long.

    Just keep it real, thanks.

  16. @Jive Turkey, this will be a problem all season; the LS Dline has to protect Frankline for him to have a great season. Back in February you posted that nobody would touch SJP; surprised to see you singing LS’ praises.

Or is the wind just blowing a different direction today?

  17. @17th & G, Franklin is a stud; the problem will be that the D line won;t be able to protect him.

That said, Franklin will have one helluva season!

  18. @ Pub School

You forget that the public schools have the greatest advantage of all…..school size. Schools like Coatesville and North Penn are 2-3 times the size of the private schools and in a sport like football especially there is nothing as valuable. I went to the North Penn – LaSalle game last year and during pre-game warmups there had to be 120 kids in blue uniforms, it looked like the 3rd infantry. I have never seen so many players in the same uniform in my life. Out trots LaSalle with their 50 kids, eight starters went both ways. Every time a private school is successful it is always the same RECRUITING comment, but I can tell from first hand knowledge that the schools recruit themselves because of the combination of outstanding academics and athletics. The 2nd difference is far better coaching. North Penn is about to go 1- 5 against LaSalle with arguably better talent or at worst equal talent. There is absolutely no other explanation for that except for far superior coaching.

  19. LaSalle line will be fine. They reload year after year, and this year shouldn’t be any different. I think the top 35 thing is players to watch. I know 1 kid on there that’s not in the starting line-up right now, doesn’t mean he won’t shine by seasons end. The kid listed in top 5 college recruits is very good, should be a nice player at the next level.

  20. @ phillyboy-

The fact that a Pub School team like Coatesville can RELOAD in the recent years is very impressive. They don’t have the luxury of “pulling” kids from weak “PROGRAMS” like some other “PROGRAMS”. We all know who those Schools are.. I won’t go into details. One question… If you are a great/very good Football player and a very good student… Do u go to Hatboro-Horsham to play Football and get an Education and end up 3-7? OR Do u go to anaother School 6 miles away and help a “PROGRAM” and give yourself some visibility??? It is a fair question.. The fact that a Public School can compete with a REGIONAL private school is very impressive. Coatesville was very impressive last year, and Ortega will have them impressive this year. Not hating on the PCL thing, but just being a realist.

  21. NPs Oline runs 230 to 290 T to T, and several players step up for him every year. Right from the 40 teams 40 days he says his defense will be better. If the LaSalle D- line is as bad as reported on this site then NP should be able to bull their way down the field push guys into Iggy impacting his game and chew up the clock.
