Of the three CB schools the one you want to see is CB South, although I don’t believe this week’s opponent, CR South, will be much of a contest. Forget H-H, Palisades and LC. I think Pennridge may fall back to .500 or just over, but their matchup Friday night with Emmaus should be very interesting with the Rams former coach on the opposite sideline.
Next week you can kill two birds with one stone…go see Wood play at North Penn.

  2. I guess we will see come Sunday morning how well you all know your own teams, let alone everyone else’s team! Good thing the kids play, the coaches coach and we get to watch. May the best team win!!!

  3. I’m new to the area and trying to figure out some good high school football to watch that isn’t too far. Can anyone tell me objectively about Central Bucks, Hatboro-Horsham, North Penn, Palisades, Pennridge, and Lansdale Catholic? I already know that Archbishop Wood is always something to watch. What games are recommended to see this upcoming weekend?

  4. I see a D12 cage match in the not so distant future!

C’mon boys the season hasn’t even started, play nice.

  5. Berwick is a very solid team this year,we all have been on the Abington Heights band wagon but the local coaches poll like Scranton Prep as the class of AAA.Guys i not sure i can handel the shock Valley View is running the spread offence!went to a scrimmage and thought i was watching Oregon !

  6. @17th, Dude read full conversations before you start getting your panties in a bunch. The sarcasm was not directed towards you. Kinda assumed a Prep guy could figure that out. Guess you were there for athletics, if at all. @Truth, I sent you an email with over a hundred pictures attached. Ironic how you went from Prep starters played 3/4 of the time to, well both teams rolled players the whole time. Which is it? C’mon man, if you’re gonna make a claim at least stick with it for more than 24 hours. Look guy, I’m done with you. I’m so tired of proving you wrong time after time.

  7. Like I said in my post, it was a scrimmage where neither teams game-planned for each other. Jive, I still didn’t get a email from you.. Don’t try to downplay your rhetoric. You asked for a report on the game.. You received a report on the game.. Then you turned around and sarcastically tried to downplay the report by saying the Prep played their JV.. Thanks 17th and G for clarification.. I believe, both teams rotated in players because I see different numbers on the Imhotep ‘Varsity’ session of the scrimmage also..
But it was a scrimmage! The season starts Friday.. I still believe it will be a D12 sweep of the state chip in 2A, 3A, and 4A..

  8. @ Jive,
Don’t bite back. Trust me , you’ll need a double tetanus shot!!
BTW, since you mentioned it, I guess it was that MLK offensive scheme that was the attraction Fri. night. Certainly weren’t there incognito..
Were you the wise man with tee-shirt and black sweats seated on the far stands who lectured me on the “D” basics and fan of the Steelers? If so, enjoyed the repartee.

I hope your being facetious but I’ll bite.I can see where you are confused because your dealing with numbers and removing shoes is unacceptable in public. I have often wonder about the flip flop guys in winter with jeans look but I assume you’re one of them! (It’s a joke!)I can understand your confusion with the Prep scrimmage because they are all the same size. We’ll just say not big! They are all the same speed. Just shy of fast. Finally, they all looked confused because ALL THE PLAYERS (not coaches) are buying into the pre-season hype.

If you were serious (which I don’t buy)here is a quick breakdown.

    RB-all the same mold
    26-12th
    1-11th
    25-11th
    2-11th
    8-10th
    7-9th

    QB
16-12th (practice number he never changed)
    6-11th
    8-10th
    17-10th
    11-10th

Do you want me to go into LB,OL,DL and DB’s. You specifically mention Martin so I made sure to eliminate that “facsinating magical illusion”. I feel like the kid who spoiled Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny! Sorry! Although, if you have a spare time machine you could lend I would love to rewind the clock!

  10. Been hearing a lot about how good Tep is. Well, they play LaSalle, I think in game 2. I watch/listen to a lot of games on the Internet but I’ll be at the field for that one. Imhotep had a nice win against Strath Haven last year and a couple playoff wins from teams from the hinterlands but I still haven’t seen a true statement win to show that they’ve arrived. This could be it.

  11. @Ramfan

Tennent did a little slapping back. Rams are in trouble this year. Hollenback only won in small conference.

  12. Not sure why you can’t mention players’ names. Should newspapers and other publications not mention any names after game’s, too? Now, that doesn’t mean you share information on something that is personal or really no one’s business. But it’s ok to mention names when talking about games and such. What’s the big deal?

  13. @Steve,
What’s going on bud? I was making a funny with 17th, he’s pretty good dude on here. Others don’t like my comments because I don’t bow down to them, just tell it like I smell it. I was over at Judge on Friday also, and agree that it was a waste of time. Kind of weird, when teams don’t play other teams, why go watch them? I’m sure they were NOT there to see if there were any kids they may try to lure to their school for next year. Here I go again! What am I saying, they don’t recruit. I saw Roman again today, cause they were right over at Northeast. I don’t know if Roman is for real, or AAAA Pub is that bad. They thumped NE worse than Washington last week. Good thing is that in a few weeks most of the smack talk will stop, results can’t be disputed.

  14. @ Jive

My brother, please don’t waste time and breath debating these Prep “guys”. it’s a futile position with no reward. We know, we’ve been doing it for the last 3 generations.
Back to football, must hand it to these Imhotep coaches, they sure do get around. Last night after leaving work stopped by Ramp(FJ) field, head coach and assistants there. It was the FJ-MLK scrimmage. Looking at the schedule, not sure what the attraction was?? This morning same group at the LS-HS scrimmage. That I do understand.
I think Crosby et al. must have chuckled when they left that one thinking “this isn’t the LaSalle offense of the last few years”!! As expected, the Gordons show significantly little in pre-season. I don’t put a lot of stock in scrimmage “scores” or TD #’s, but like you I will note line play/tempo and 1st team 1 on 1 match-ups as ‘potential’ success indicators.
    @ 17th & G,
I think your analysis of Prep’s potential line/LB woe’s are lucid and with merit. However, your boy’s are finally going to “ranked” #1 this year, albeit pre-season. Can’t run away from it now and the disclaimers won’t help the cause if they don’t win the title, again…
We agree both teams can play all the heavyweights they want, that’s more for show/pride/school attraction. The only thing that really counts is the PCL Championship plaque in Nov.

  15. @17th,
I was wrong. Prep didn’t roll anybody, they played their starters the whole scrimmage. After going back and reviewing the game film, I realized the Prep starting QB played the whole time. I guess he couldn’t get comfortable in a jersey, cause he kept switching them from series to series. The running backs, receivers and linemen also had jersey problems and kept switching their numbers too. I’ve never seen a team do this before and that must be why I was so confused. Seemed like some kids got haircuts and grew, shrunk, then grew again during the scrimmage too. Magic perhaps? I don’t know, but they really pulled the wool over my eyes. Next time I’ll try to be more observant and not be fooled by these fascinating illusions.

  16. Berwick looked like a solid team and well rounded in both scrimmages looking forward to the season and the playoffs! Lets go Dawgs!!

  17. @ Jive/Truth

Prep rolled first and second team players all day against IMTP. There are number of positions undecided so they alternated the entire scrimmage. I am pretty sure the extra set of plays was to balance reps out between the two QBs competing for the position. Regardless IMTP did a nice job beating up on us! They are truly in sinc this early in the season.

  18. @Jive

I also have both rosters and film of the game.. Its my job to know everything concerning high school football.. Like I told you before, I’m not an Imhotep fan, I’m a D12 fan.. Here’s my email pafootball@yahoo.com .

    Waiting patiently..

  19. @Truth,
Ha, love the name because you are so far from it, it’s sad. Send me your email and I’ll send you video and photos of Tep/Prep. You know I won’t name any names because? C’mon all at once… They’re children. I think the issue we have is that you are so in love with that school, that you are looking through coke bottle glasses with the wrong prescription. You can look through every post I’ve made, no hate, no dislike. I’ve given them kids credit left and right, you’re just blind to it all. I know what your problem is, and it’s a sad way to live in todays world. Remember, these are children and we are all neighbors. As much as you want to hate on some people, that’s just not my game. Hope one of these days you can get a little help getting that chip off of your shoulder. Good luck.

  20. @Jive

The ultimate weakness of a man is to hate and lie… Flat out lie…
Sorry sir, I was at the Tep/Prep game and the Prep had all their starters in for the 1st three quarters. As a matter of fact, they requested a little extra time to keep them in so they can get more work..
Name one Prep starter that DID NOT play the THREE QUARTERS and the next THREE rounds are on me!!!
Just because you hate and dislike Imhotep, you shouldn’t come on here and attempt to discredit kids, thats bullying…
But, its only a scrimmage, meaning neither staffs had time or put in the quality time to game-plan for each other. But now since the season is starting, try your best to keep your hate and lies to a minimal when it comes to high school kids..
    We’re waiting for those names……!

  21. Lets set the record straight,Berwick plays in wvc in football, which is weak now and was weak in the nineties when Berwick won 5 AAA titles. However, when Berwick won state titles they had to beat either Valley View or North Pocono to advance in state playoffs. Last time they won a d2 title was in 2008 beating AH 3-0. Berwick also won a d2 title in 2004.
in 2012 Berwick lost d2 game to AH 44-35, a game which neither team could stop the other from scoring. So, the 2012 season is OVER and we will shortly begin 2013 season
Berwick had some issues on their team last year, offensive line could not block, defensive backs could not cover. Berwick has now addressed all their flaws from last year and is now poised to get back to the state playoffs.
CJ Curry is now a senior, who is bigger with a year of experience, coach curry has given him great receivers who have great speed and can catch the ball. In the backfield Dain Kowalski will be the main running back.
I saw them destroy Central Dauphin 35-7 in only one half in a scrimmage. Berwick will manhandle WVW this year and get ready for d2 playoffs. This team has addresed all their flaws from 2012 and is ready to meet Arch Wood

  22. LaSalle over Haverford 6 or 7 scores to 1. But the game was a lot closer. Haverford played well early and moved the ball. Once they brought in the sticks Haverford was forced to punt several times. Haverford’s offense was a running attack with #5 nice RB doing most of the work.

LaSalle did not show too much playing a pretty conservative offense. The Sophomore QB played well probably better than Schumer, they split time evenly. No knock on Schumer he played well but LaSalle does have two QBs. Herron was a decoy most of the day only had 1 pass thrown his way. LaSalles scores came from long passes, long runs and a couple long drives.

  23. Thanks for the reports. I’m guessing #20 got the ball on the first play? That kid can flat out run the ball. Really want to see Tep play, just not working out with my schedule. Looking forward to week 2, should be a battle. What do you guys think, game starts at 6:00, arrive by 4:00 if you plan on getting into Germantown Stadium?
