  1. Huck you were asking about LaSalle’s other top QB coming in. Your Boy Rick O’Brien posted it on twitter yesterday.

Lots going on. For Rick to catch wind of something it needs to be out there for some time.

  2. Big year for coatesville again. Looking forward to seeing them put a beating on lasalle or whatever small college that recruits they play this year. See you in Hershey!

  3. @ Sam as of now Austin Seamon has no offers to play football in collage.I am being told he going to Bloomberg and may walk on next year.
@Ron i hope your right, in my opinon no game should be played at that field it just a terrible venue for all the reasons you listed.Protest have been filed before and have fallen on deaf ears.
@ trad31 i stand corrected it was 2005 with Liberty but it may have happen twice.

  4. went to lion’s club dream game wednesday good game i have to say every time i saw dunmore play, and now in tonights dream game dunmore’s austin seamon stands out. whether on offense or defense he seems to always come up with a game changing play. i have not heard where he is going to school. anyone know? dunmore is supposed to be good again this year but they lost some really good players, mike boland, mike kolcharno, jake korgeski, john rinaldi, matt o’connor, cory jones and austin seamon.

  5. @rob1

They do have 2 qbs dale berkheimer n now sophmore reeves which has a cannon for a arm. They only graduated 5 seniors. But I hope like u said the only way to go is up!

  6. @breonn

Coming off an 0-10 season, the only way to go is up I guess. They should beat Tunkhannock but the rest of the schedule doesn’t look favorable. They lose their QB and 1000 yd rusher too. No idea what they have coming back other than those guys.

  7. Recruiting argument once and for all. First of all I don’t really care who wins in HS athletic competition. I think the word recruiting is thrown out there like this is college football, which it’s not. Anyways, the rich get richer because you can go to any catholic school you want if you live anywhere close. So that is why LaSalle, Wood, Imhotep, etc always field really good teams. Anyone can just opt out of their school and end up there. Obviously that gives someone a distinct advantage when anyone can go to school where ever they want. It’s like Florida HS football, open enrollment. It doesn’t matter where you live, you can play football at whatever school you please. When I lived in California Mater Dei used to have families sponsor students so they’d attend the school. Excellent athletes every single year. That is the only way schools like Wood & Imhotep & WC can have D-1 players every year or biyearly!

  8. Does anyone think williamsport in AAAA is gonna have any better of a season this yr then last?? They have their big boy Tawney playing oline this yr and he looked pretty good at the temple camp last weekend!!

  9. @ The Truth

Are you attempting to put Imhotep in the same academic circle as LS?

not sure Id ever talk about Imhoteps academics.

  10. I second Huck on this, LaSalle is King in PCL 4A until someone knocks them off the hill. Granted they lost a lot but they just plug and play with a program player. Ironically, SJP and LaSalle have the same issue this season with their line. Both are inexperienced but appear to be in the position to do the job. The real test will come if these teams meet in the playoffs. Shurmur vs Martin-Meachen vs Moffet and Zacheus-Herron vs Reid, Mcallister and Johnson. Line vs Line!!

    Can’t wait!

  11. Paul, no reason for me not to believe that their line will at minimum be functional. The coaching is too good. The kids that come through the program are smart and fundamental. Very coachable and that goes a long way.

  12. @ Huck and PCL Fan et al

It will all come down to the O Line for La Salle. They have all the pieces as far as passing (Shurmur), running (Meachem) and receiving (Herron et al). Of course injuries may come into play but it will come down to their line and what Coach Dom can do with them. It’s that simple.

  13. PCL Fsn, how am I talking down on LaSalle? Listen close, ok. Until someone knocks them off they are the team to beat in the PCL 4A. Do I need to repeat it?

All I said is that they lost their fair share of starters. Fact! However, I also mentioned that they have gotten to the point that they can reload, rather than rebuild. That’s a compliment, brother.

Oh yea, I picked LaSalle to win the PCL 4A in 2010. Check the site if you need confirmation.

  14. Jive, I did read it. You told him that they didn’t have a 3,000-yard rusher last year. That was true. All I did was let you know what he was referring, too. They had a 3,000-yard career rusher. Did it bother you that I filled you in on what he meant? I wasn’t trying to get under your skin, but fill you in a little.

As far as the other stuff, I really have no opinion. I’d don’t know the kid who he is talking about. I guess he could be very good. Maybe, that poster is a little over the top, too, I really don’t care. I do not think that Roxborough will be a factor, though.

  15. @Huck
Not real sure what the infatuation with me is, but maybe I’ll start a twitter page so you can follow me. I can let you know when and what I eat for breakfast/lunch/dinner/snack etc. Allow me to invite you into the conversation, that you failed to fully read. A poster made a comment that I agreed with. Another poster jumped in and made a statement that no other carries were available for other players on a team. The main back carried the ball 139 times. There were another 211 carries spread out through 11 kids. The player in question got 2 of them carries. You caught up yet? It took me less than 5 minutes to find this information. Next time you feel the blood flowing from seeing a post from me, please take the 5 minutes and read the conversation. Perhaps you could look up some stuff and bring something to the conversation too. Thanks

  16. Huck you were talking down on LaSalle after the 2009 season too. Same stuff about them losing everyone. How did 2010 work out for Lasalle? Expect the same this year.

  17. Jive, kind of hard to rush for 3,000 in a season. I believe 2,800+ is the city record. You probably should have recognized that. Anyway, what he was saying is that Ben Coulibaly was a 3,000-yard rusher for his career. That’s a real solid number for a career, too.

As far as this kid at Roxborough, I have no clue. I guess he could end up being a nice player. I don’t think Rox. will be much of a factor either way, though.

  18. That’s the thing about North Penn, they have such a huge enrollment so they’re bound to have a good starting lineup and depth. Couple that with excellent coaching and the community support, voila, a quality program. Just have a hunch they’ll fare well against LS in this opener.

  19. SteveS, who is the other QB? I agree with you that LS has talent moving up. Hence, my reload, not rebuild theory. They proven that for some time now.

I’m just saying that NP has a fine traditional and student base that few in this state can match. And because of this it’s always possible that they may produce an elite club in any given year. Time will tell, of course.

Truth, I like your style. Have we ever met?

  20. @Truth,
I wanted to stay away from this Imhotep BS, but that post you made just needs a response. I’m done with the back and forth on recruiting, EVERYBODY DOES IT! Coach Crosby does a ton for the kids, and kids go there for that. Where you kinda got in my crawl was with the good academic athletic program thing. Imhotep ranks 593rd out of 676 high schools in the state in regards to academics. They are 32% below state average in math, 19% below state average in reading, 37% below state average in science, and 16% below state average in writing. Nobody else out there denies recruiting, not sure why you do. But, to compare Imhotep academically to the other schools you mentioned is a flat out embarrassment to them schools. That is the TRUTH!

  21. @Wubble,
Where I didn’t start the conversation, nor doubt Ed Wright was a real person, let me enlighten you. No 3000 yd rushers on Boys Latin last year. #22 carried the ball 139 times for 898 yds. #16 115-502, #33 38-176, rest of team beside Wright had 56-195. Wright had 2-12 in a game BL won 40-12. There were 209 carries by other 10 players, so I think an absolute stud would have gotten more than the lesser side of 1%. Like I said earlier, this was not a conversation I started however, for some reason you felt to come at me, so there’s your facts. Don’t know if you are a Philly high school coach, but if you are? Wow!

  22. I think people are selling Lasalle way short on here. They have never won with big time recruited players. They won with hard working discipline kids. Lasalle will plug kids in who are jr or sr that have worked really hard and been coach really well for the past 2-3 years. I for one will be very surprised if Imhotep beats them. Not to sell Imhotep short I know they are very talented team and would consider it a disappointment if they don’t reach the AA state championship game. But I got lasalle winning by 1 or 2 TDs.

  23. @ The Truth

Well said. Not all the star athletes are recruited at these schools. Many go in with the desire and determination to become part of a winning program but also for the academics.

What I was speaking to a few days ago was which coaches are helping “push” their kids to the next level. Devlin absolutely helps his kids get noticed and that brings notoriety to the program that will attract talented athletes. So he is creating a legacy program. He came from Prep a few years ago and brought Peoples in – correct? I thought I heard the one who was going to Rutgers is now at a JUCO. Any truth to that?
