  1. @ OL coach:
How could I possibly pawn myself off as ” Mr. know-it-all”, you already cornered that market.
I’ve seen live, LaSalle, NP & Wood play this year.
See my post below to “jiveturkey” regarding Wood being better than LaSalle. It was a joke, just to get a rise outa people like you.

    @ footballfan:
Same. See my post below to jiveturkey.
Right now, LaSalle appears to be the team to beat. I don’t think anyone in the PCL can do it. They won’t get any real test ’til late into the playoffs.

  2. Buddy
I know you are a North Penn fan, but try to be honest here. North Penn beat a Wood Team that is not even close to last year. The LaSalle vs North Penn game wasn’t even any where as close as the score was. I think North Penn is going to have a lot of trouble with this kid Josh Adams from CB South when they play. North Penn is always a good team but this year I don’t think they are close to LaSalle.

  3. I’ve been saying it for a long time now; Wood is going to come back to earth a bit this year. I expect them to tumble further by the time they play St. Joe’s Prep in a few weeks. After losing 7 division 1 players how were they ranked #1?

  4. @Buddy, if you’re going to represent yourself as a know all (which you do), you really need to get out and actually see some ball not just read message boards.

If you truly believe Wood is stronger than LaSalle, you’re just a dope. Wood can’t throw a pass to save their life; stop the run and Wood is cooked.

Don’t get me wrong, Wood is still a strong team but not LaSalle caliber.

  5. @????, Imhotep had a strong team returning but be honest, Williams and Chatmon put them over the top! If Williams stays at WC, I take WC over Imhotep in the playoffs. So, even though you had a nice team coming back, in no way would it have been the power team Imhotep is.

  6. Valley View @ Lakeland very physical game team that made the last mistake lost. Valley View suffered a big blow as Phillps left the game with a knee injury .Afraid to say it didn’t look good. Still a lot of talent on that team ,let see how the coach handels it ????

  7. @jiveturkey:

    Ah, there it is………….

I only said that to get a rise outa you LaSalle/PCL fans.

    Damn if it didn’t work!

    Big game this fri., Prep/NP.
    Here’s the skinny on that.
If Prep has a passing game , they will probably win. If they don’t, they will definetly lose.

@ Beck & NP coaching staff: Please, you guys have got to get some pass defense established! That’s been your waterloo for some years now.
Wouldn’t hurt to get some pass offense goin’ too.

  8. Lance,

I havnt seen Imhotep in person. Would love to tho. From what ive heard their team speed is just silly. They have a chance to go where no Philly Pub tean has gone before.

  9. @Buddy,
Wood is clearly a better team than LaSalle? How did you come to this conclusion? The 3 best teams in the PCL are LaSalle, Prep, and Roman. All AAAA, and all better than Wood. We all saw last night what happens when you go against a real defense and try the old pop warner sweep right, sweep left. Wood has a very good defense and an OK offense. Pretty tough to say how great a team is when their FB is their best skill position player. They will walk through their AAA schedule and get blasted in the 2nd round of states. One of the AAAA’s will be in the Eastern final.
One side note: A couple years ago it was proposed that all PCL play AAAA to make it much easier on scheduling and to have a true PCL champion. There were 2 No votes out of all of the PCL schools. Guess who they were? Correct-a-mundo! Wood and West because they knew the only way they would get to Hershey would be with Buy One Get One Free park tickets from Burger King.

  10. We only had 2 transferred students for football Brandon Chatmon and David Williams so can you please stop saying our team is boosted go look at the rosters from last year and compare it to this year team and that will so how much under rated talented players we really had under the radar

  11. Down year in the WVC, probably the worst I’ve ever seen it. Berwick, Coughlin and Wyoming Area are quality teams but after that it gets considerably worse. Jury is still out for me on WVW though, but I think I know enough about the other teams to know that they’re not very good this year.

  12. #1 Wood loses 24-10 to North Penn, and @2 central dauphin loses 24-7 to McDevitt. It looks like some teams are overrated this year.

  13. Buddy,

I try not to put too much stock in these early games. I though NP would start 0-3 as well but still thought either way they would be there well into December like always. weather conditions played too much of a factor. Play was a little sloppy and holding on to the ball was very tough. Wish the game was played today so we could have saw a much better game with 2 of the best teams in PA regardless of classification. Congrats to NP. They certainly turned a game that wood looked like they would win handily……………..one other thing is Alabama on North Penns schedule? Man they certainly dont duck anyone

  14. @ Joe

Appreciate your comments on how we don’t want to be like NJ and hand out 24 state titles. How watered down it would be like that. There’s already the 4 enrollment classifications. That’s enough.

By the way, over in NJ it’s even worse than you expressed. They only have true private state champions per enrollment classification. They don’t have state champions for the public schools. They have 4 geographic sections (similar to districts in PA). Once the 4 sectional champions are crowned per enrollment classification that’s it. They don’t have semifinals and finals to determine at least true public champions. How corny can it get. I played ball in South Jersey back in the late 80’s and they still havn’t fixed it. If anything, NJ should be following PA’s example. The only thing wrong with the PA playoff system is that it’s 1 week too long.

  15. last night watched dunmore vs GAR dunmore’s back austin seamon 207yds. rushing, 1 reception for touchdown 2rushing td,s.1 interception, another interception negated by a penalty and caused 1fumble dunmore’s 2 tailbacks seamon and buckley split time at tailback seamon seems the better of the 2 it seems if he got as many carries as the other starting tailbacks he would get more recognition . buckley is a great back in his own right both play defense also dunmore looked tough no. 71 boland could be the best lineman in D2.

  16. Go figure

NP loses to LaSalle, then beats Wood

Wood is clearly a better team than LaSalle

Will the real NP please stand up

  17. Delaware valley seems to have a good team this year. it would be nice to see them come to the D2/4/11 dance and make some noise. Scranton seems to have a good team too. They played Easton tough last year. Let enjoy all the regular season games first!
