  1. @phillyboy, Prep beat St Peters 2008, 2009 season. Desmond People’s scored three touchdowns that game. That was Brooks last year at the prep. The following year they played and the Prep got crushed. Remember once Brooks left prep lost majority of there players.

  2. @ PCL Fan 21 + 28 = 49… I don’t where you’re getting 70 from… They were never behind Unionville at any point in the game, and were winning 38-14 before they put their JVs in. Coatesville was beating Wiss 42-7 before they put their JVs in… and the fact that they managed to adjust to Neshaminy in the third quarter after two quick scores proves they’re capable of shutting down any team. The same goes for Spring-Ford… A few adjustments and they were able to shut down Spring-Ford in the second half. There’s no doubt tomorrow that LaSalle will come out and score, but Coatesville’s coaches are some of the best in the state. They aren’t going sit and not make adjustments when LaSalle scores. Exepect them to wear LaSalle down with speed on both sides of the ball… including defense. Even if it means making adjustments for second half… they will find a way to get it done, like have been for the past 15 weeks.

  3. @PCL Fan-

Opinions are like #$%#holes… Everybody has one..

“Fact is none of these teams were anywhere as good as Parkland and they scored pretty easily.”

Good luck PCL! Your opinion really means nothing. LaSalle is an awesome school.. with great Academics, with great kids, and a great football team!! You diminish the school’s reputation by your comments..

Good Luck tomorrow night! I wish you well and will pray for you my friend.. It should be a great game.

  4. @ kmac
i preach the truth. they be like men among boys. Wolves among poodles. Cheetahs among some kind of small cats. They the real deal fo sho. come to the game on saturday and youll know what i mean.

  5. PCL fan. your facts are way off. let me help. coatesville never trailed unionville one second of that game it was 14 to zero 5 min into the game. Nesh scored 14 of there 28 in the last two possesions of the game against our backups. coatesville has outscored there playoff opponents 202 to 77 so how could any of those games been close. granted Lasalle is better then the teams coatesville played so far, but coatesville has totally dominated the other teams they played that is what good teams do. they average over 50 points a game in the playoffs. out of those 77 points allowed 28 were against backups.and jimbo well aware good teams backups play when games are blowouts Coatesvilles starters didnt play a second half in there last six regular season games. was just trying to make a point coatesvilles defense is pretty good.

  6. @Jimbo

On another note thanks for the web site that is streaming audio of the La Salle vs Coatsville game. You were right on.

  7. @ John

Who beat St. Peter’s Prep and when? Think Saint Joe’s Prep played them a few years ago but got crushed. Was there another game where a local team beat St. Peter’s Prep to which I’m unaware?

  8. @Jimbo
You need to comprehend what is written as I said nothing to make anyone expect Garlick to be a polished player. I said he plays more like a Jr/Sr because does not make as many mental mistakes that most if not all Frosh would make. If he played like a Frosh believe me he would not be the starting QB in a program like Wood. He is obviously better than the Sr QB on the roster or the other QB that is a Soph. At times he plays like a Frosh because he is a Frosh and how many Frosh start at QB for the varsity at any level?

  9. @ raider fan

Come on with trying to make the point the scoring Coatesville has given up was against their backups. That was only true against Wiss. Against Unionville they gave 21 and were behind in the 4th quarter. Against Spring Ford they gave up 21 and the game was within a touchdown in the second quarter. Against Nesh they gave up 28 and the game was within a touchdown in the middle of the third. That is 70 points that were all given up by the first team defense. Fact is none of these teams were anywhere as good as Parkland and they scored pretty easily.

  10. BTW, I am almost certain that markd is correct with Ron Powlus being a Freshman QB in 89 for Berwick and Dave Shinski being a Freshmen in 99 for Mount Carmel.

  11. If it is a field that is considered a “home” field, shared or not, should not be used during the PIAA playoffs. That is something that needs to be discussed in the off-season. Scranton and Wilkes-Barre schools share the field and when they reach PIAA playoffs they could not play at that field. I understand it doesn’t create a major issue other than fan attendance however if Scranton and WB schools have to use other fields than everyone else should also.
I also still question the whole notion that was brought up before concerning District 12 and Thanksgiving games vs. playoffs. In District 2, if you schedule a Thanksgiving game does not opt a bye in the PIAA playoffs. I will check more into that question as I have the resources to do so.

  12. @ mark d ron powlus was a freshman qb in 89. joe kelchner was starting qb against perry, a game they lost in the last 2 minutes because of a fumble on their own 20 yard line. powlus was starting qb as a soph in 90. won state title in 92 and was named usa today player of the year.

  13. My 2 cents:
I have seen LaSalle several times and have only seen tape on C’ville. LS may not have as many pure athletes as C’Ville…I think LS will win with excellent coaching, discipline, toughness and big game experience.

NA out west has been making good teams look bad… just got their top running back to 100%. They are a machine and Walker, Jr. is a hall of fame coach like his dad was…. they have beat much better than Wilson this year an it will show… NA beats LS again in the championship.

  14. @stendog
Imhotep does play @ Germantown field for home games as does a dozen other Philly Public League schools. Those 9 games there I think 6 were “home” games. As for playing football, I don’t think it’ll matter. These kids are tough!

  15. yall dont know nothing. imhotep is the best team in philly and the state in all the PIAA. These boys can run like the wind. They bigger, stronger, and faster than any other team. They could win the AAA and AAAA divisions with 10 players on the field. No one has ever seen speed like this. They have kids running with the power of Mike Alstott and the speed of Barry Sanders. They have lineman the size of King Dunlap and the strength of ten men. Their recievers are faster than Randy Moss and have hands the size of baseball gloves. Their linebackers are stronger than Ray Lewis and smarter than Einstein. Their coaches have actually wrestled lions, thats how tough they are. They eat nails for breakfast and drink gasoline. Theyre pure bread fighting machines. Their school is top notch academics. Probably better than most colleges in the area. Im going to assume that they have better SAT scores than any other school. Their basketball program is better than yours.

  16. @raider fan, LS backups have played half the season; if you were used to being successful you’d understand this is quite normal.

  17. IC had 4 home games at Germantown; additional games were playoff games which D12 scheduled not IC. Inner city schools don’t have their own fields; multiple schools schedule games at Germantown.

If you really think it matters if they play this game at Germantown or Northeast, you’re kidding yourself.

  18. @ JiveTurkey9

Right. Since ’03 Prep went 1-1 against Gilman, 1-1 against St. Ignatius, 0-1 vs. PCC, 0-2 vs. Bosco, and 1-0 vs. St. Anthony (Long Island) and I think 0-1 vs. St. Peter’s Prep and 0-1 to Hilliard (Columbus, Ohio). Cardinal O’hara lost to Colerain, and got annihilated by Bosco. And more recently LaSalle went 0-2 to Bergen Catholic. They are the main interstate tussles against high profile programs more recently.

  19. Deo, Garlick is a freshman; at times, he plays like one. Don’t make others expect a polished player which is what a jr/sr would be. The best thing about Garlick is he does exactly what is asked of him and doesn’t try to do more. He’s learning; he’s a work in progress and in a few years, watch out. This year, he’s a good freshman QB, nothing more, nothing less.
