  1. Cville gave up 28 points in playoffs do to mercy rule were Cville defensive backups were facing other teams first team offense. Neshimmeny scored 14 points against backups. Cville defense not that bad springford had 201 total yards good portion of those were against backups.

  2. @ Jimbo
I understand it’s not Imohteps home field, just wondering why it’s not a location more in between the two schools. Doesn’t matter, game has to be played on the field.

  3. @Josh not 100% sure but wasn’t Ron Powlus a freshman Q.B. when Berwick lost to Perry in the states in 89.Any Berwick guys out their that can answer that?

  4. Tom Garlick comes from a very athletic family as his father for Father Judge from QB to special teams and I believe played for Northwestern and his uncle Tom played a little in the pros. The kid is a winner and plays more like a Jr/Sr with hardly any mental errors you would expect from a Frosh.

  5. Does anybody out there know the last time a freshman QB helped lead his team to a PIAA championship game? If Archbishop Wood wins this weekend, Fr. QB Tom Garlick will have accomplished that feat. Very curious to know if any 9th grader has ever helped lead a team to a PIAA title game before. Need QB’s name, school & year if any have ever done this before. Thanks!

  6. I think Lasalle wins! I think the pressure will get to Coatesville! They had a great season but I think they choke in this one! Lasalle 31 Coatesville 14!

  7. @Stendog, since you don’t understand how PIAA sites work, let me help.

The hosting district provides a non-home field site for the game. Districts switch hosting each year; in AA, D12 hosts this year. Germantown is not Imhotep’s home field so it qualifies; there are other criteria such as turf fields, etc. but there’s nothing to cry about with Imhotep playing at Germantown.

  8. @ Clark31C

“Crushed” by NA might be a little overstated. They did shut La Salle down offensively but 21-0 after La Salle gave up 6 turnovers? With 6 TOs the score should have been 35-0. If not for the two reverse plays the score probably would have been 7-0 NA. But “if” is for children. Have it your way, they crushed La Salle.

I do think they spent themselves emotionally in the NP game the week before. Greatest football game I have ever seen in person, pro, college or high school.

  9. @ Nobody

They can only play the teams that are put on their schedule. And as long as they beat them, who cares. Sort of like Larry Holmes not being considered a great champion because of some of the stiffs he had to face. But you know what, he was a great champion.

    La Salle 35 Coatesville 24

  10. @C.T thank you I think i am going to head out to that game.Heard they had a lot of trouble with Delone running game,if they dont play the run well look out !

  11. @rayzanna, there is one ball, not four.

Good luck to Coatesville, hopefully they’ve discovered defense in the past week.

  12. @Phillyboy, I was thinking the same thing about Prep playing Bergen. Looked at their schedules back to 2000 and they didn’t play them. In ’06 and ’07 Prep play Bosco, maybe a little confusion between the 2 on Johns part.

  13. @Nobody, You have lost all credibility after that silly post. You have no clue about Philly football. Roman wouldn’t go 500 and Frankford would crack the 600 mark? Ryan, Judge, and Roman, would all be over 500 in that league. Frankford and Washington would have a hell of a shot as well. Come back and post on Saturday after your Champion loses by 30.

  14. Everybody on here has alot of mouth about this Coatesville vs Lasalle game. If they both show up and play it should come down to the wire or even who has the ball last. Like who really cares about SJP right now they lost and arent playing right now. Just wounding if the players on Lasalle talk has much trash has everybody on here. Just show up FRIDAYNIGHT at the game and lets see what happens , but nobody’s going to have a walk in the park like these last few games on both sides . So lets support both teams , Coatesville fans support theirs and Lasalle you support yours. Also remember ‘LASALLE’ what happened when you went to states and got crushed by NORTH ALLEGNEY like hitting a brick wall, so if you do win ????????? it may be a rematch so you better show up for that one. GOOD LUCK , LETS GO COATESVILLE [ BRING IT ]

  15. How is that AA semifinal is being played in Philadlephia, just few miles away from Imohtep? Thought it was a neutral site?

  16. @Nobody Coatesville played unionville, Wiss, neshaminy, springford.

I’m not even going to touch on unionville who were the great teams they played? Sun valley? oxford? please

Next Wiss; they beat Wiss 42-21. Wissahickon LOST to Arch. Ryan 29-21, Lasalle beat Ryan 31-0. So one of the lower teams in the PCL was able to beat a D1 team that gave DT East a loss and gave Coatesville some trouble! Wow!

Neshaminy, please this isnt the same state title contending team we are used to from 5 years back, 3 losses in Suburban league that is having a very down year.

Spring-ford, I’d say this is the best team Cville has played, SF dominated all year, but played in a horrible division. But still nothing compared to the St Joe’s team Lasalle had to play(who was ranked 18th in the nation when LS played them).

  17. @Nobody

This is the typical post that you get from a fan of a program like Coatesville. This is a program that has been totally invisible on the high school football scene for 20 + years, now they stick their head out of the ground once every two decades and you want to talk smack about a perennial powerhouse, a program that has played in more big games in the past five years then Coatesville has in its entire weak history. Enjoy your brief moment in the sun and we’ll see you again in another 20 years.

  18. Hey-

@phillyboy/Jimmy/@ Paul from Philly… Good luck this weekend..

Beat Roman (they couldn’t go .500 In Suburban 1, Chesmont, or the Central League)
Beat SJP (great win.. the only legitimate team they play)
Beat Frankford (would go barely .600 in Suburban 1 , Chesmont or Central League and NOT make D1 playoffs)
Bye ( they are very good…just saying!!!! Great win!!!)
Beat Parkland (only a run game.. no passing game) Congrats………. A statement win by School standards…

LaSalle has the EASIEST run to the Eastern Final.. They basically have to win ONE game.. vs. SJP.

See you at Downingtown West on Saturday….
