  1. @rayzanna why do you think LaSalle can’t cover the 4 skilled positions? They have the line to stop the run up the middle, D1 class LBs, one of the top CBs in SEPA who ran down Parklands fastest RB and Coleman at FS. What are they missing? Oh ya there D Coordinator has proven the ability to get it done.

Why don’t you give us your view.

  2. Can’t get to the LaSalle vs Coatsville game on Friday night so does anyone know if it will be televised or live streamed or even broadcasted on radio? I have noticed that most NJ high school games are televised no matter the importance and small town high school games of all classes are on tv and of course out in western pa the same.

  3. WOW Phillyboy, you sure do have a lot of confidence in LaSalle. There defense better show up. I hope the can cover more the 4 skilled position players at the same time.

  4. @raider fan, no CVille is a little bit better on offense since then. But they haven’t played a team as good as East since that game.

  5. @PCL FAN

Thanks. I was thinking about four years. And I thought one of the Jersey teams gave them a bloody lip in the past couple of years but I wasn’t sure about them scoring over 40.

You brought up Malvern in your post. Did anyone see the Malvern Coatesville game? What happened there? La Salle played Malvern this year and basically the mercy rule was in affect!?

  6. It’s all about how a team is playing right now, and LaSalle and Coatesville are both very talented teams having tremendous seasons and winning when it counts. Personally, I expect LaSalle vs. Coatesville to be a high-scoring, close game. Neshaminy and Spring-Ford both exploited major weaknesses in the Coatesville defense, but the explosive Coatesville offense took over when it mattered most. I expect LaSalle to exploit the same weaknesses and score more points than Coatesville’s previous 2 opponents.

However, I also expect the Coatesville offense to do the same thing, although I can’t see them dropping 50+ on the Explorers. Yes, LaSalle took a high-scoring Parkland offense and shut them down for 48 minutes, but the way Coatesville’s offense is clicking right now puts them in a different class than the more one-dimensional Parkland offense. LaSalle hasn’t faced an offense like this all year long. Likewise, Coatesville hasn’t faced a defense like this all year long. Should be a great game.

    Picks for the weekend:

    Coatesville
    North Allegheny

    Bishop McDevitt
    Archbishop Wood

    Aliquippa
    Imhotep

    Clairton
    Dunmore

  7. Well said by my good buddy the Facts. Accurately sums up Imhotep’s program, thank you and good night to all the whiners. The Facts says:

My buddy Jim, I see you have continue your disgraceful racist comments towards Imhotep on another thread. Well, I’m here again to counter your perception with solid facts! Listen and read closely:

    1. on the other thread you claim you had a problem with Imhotep’s Mission Statement. This forces us to research the statement and find out why. My research found that the statement mentions its mission as an AFRICAN centered educational community. Why do you have a problem with this? There are numerous ethic educational institutions throughout the country including the current #1 ranked NCAA football team. Tell us why do you have a problem with this and this will explain why you had the problem in the first place.

    2. You gave us Imhotep’s offensive line average height and weight. Awesome, guess what, they all return next year (no seniors). Also, everyone of them came to Imhotep as freshmen (no transfers). If you check Imohotep’s 2010 roster –> http://www.tedsilary.com/imhotepFB10.htm you will see they are all there as freshmen and guess what, they were smaller kids. As matter of fact, their two 6-5 Jr Offensive tackles were just 6-3 & 6-2 back then. Can you believe that? Can you believe the 6-3 kid who grew to 6-5 in 3 years didn’t start for JV last year? Wow! If you were a coach, you would understand every kid has a light in their head and when that light comes on…WATCH OUT. Also, Imhotep’s RT, Center (team captain), and their LG all started for Imhotep as freshmen… They are all straight ‘A’ honor roll students! It’s there Jr year Buddy, that light came on and they are dominating every opponent they line up against because of it! Oh, and colleges are noticing it! You did mention a story for a movie right?

    3. I gave you a copy of all the rosters for the last 4 years and you saw all of this year starters except for two has been with Imhotep since freshmen or sophomores.

    4. Would you believe if I told you that over 90% of Imhotep’s players are from the Germantown, Mt Airy, and West Oak Lane communities? Imhotep serves these and two other neighborhoods. These communities has 4 youth teams currently playing for the National pee-wee football super bowls in Florida as we speak so the future looks bright for all the surrounding schools. So you can have your boundaries, they will still dominate.

    5. You and CT Coach (my good friend) state Imhotep has no tradition? Tradition is functional and alive within the program. Their rich tradition and is rooted in the African culture. Watch their game and see what they do before and after each game and you will see tradition. Watch the Pen argyl game and you will see the tradition of sportsmanship and how they help players up off the turf after a hard tackle. That’s TRADITION, thats honor, thats coaching!

    6. Jim buddy, you never heard of Imhotep? Did you know that #27, SS for the USC Trojans, was a graduate of Imhotep high and their all time leading rusher? Did you know #3, QB for Temple Owls, was a student and QB for Imhotep until he transferred to GW, oh…btw, he’s 6-3. Did you know Imhotep has players playing D1,D2,and D3 football all over the country? They been here for a while buddy..

    7. Lastly, Imhotep did have two significant transfers this year. One had no choice and the other made his choice. I will not talk issues concerning kids on this forum but to rebuke your false statement about them having 15 new kids this year has to be challenged. Only 2 on-field producing kids transferred in last year! JUST TWO, not 15! These are the facts Jim, and you trying to ruin a raising inner city team’s success with tainted nonfactual lies is distasteful and without class.

In closing Jim, just tell us the real reason you may have a problem with inner city kids being successful in a game of football and then let us know why they you have a problem with their mission statement…. Time yours!

  8. @raider fan
Maybe you should talk to Parkland who won 11 in a row and averaged 40 pts a game and WERE on a roll…yes it really does matter how you are playing now….like LaSalle’s defense…..looking forward to a great game

  9. I would love to buy into the Coatesville hype. I hope they’re as good as some say. But got to keep it real, Coatesville is gonna get clobbered. After seeing the dismantling of Parkland, Coatesville can take their D1 title and wish LaSalle well at Hershey. If Coatesville loses by less than 30 they can consider it a moral victory.

  10. Also what makes Lasalle & Prep standout from other schools, kids can’t just transfer into these schools. When Gil Brooks left prep they had to start all over, they couldn’t just transfer kids in, coaches had to work with what they had. From my understanding North Jerseys schools don’t have these same challenges.

  11. @paul from philly, last time Prep played Bergen the beat them. Also I think Lasalle & prep would’ve beaten any of the North Jersey teams this yr.

  12. Parkland literally hit a brick wall in LaSalle’s Def Line and LB’s. They were overmatched by 20-30 lbs across the line – thoroughly dominated in all phases of line play. No matter how good the skill players are, they need time and space to execute. If Cville’s O-Line can handle LaSalles Def schemes and give their skill players time and space, then game on. Otherwise, I anticipate a similar result (perhaps closer score) to the PK game.

  13. @RICK do you really think CVILLE is playing the same now as they played when they played east? Football doesnt work that way.

  14. @KEVIN East is overrated but lit up your defense? Guess what La Salle is just as good on offense but has a monster defense. Plus LaSalle has weapons in the slot that CVille Lbs and safeties struggled with all year.

  15. Lasalle is a very talented well coached team. everyone knows that. but anyone who knows football should be aware its how you are playing now that matters not how you played in week 2 or 3 so to compare passed results doesn,t matter ask the new york gaints last yr if they cared they were a 9 – 7 team going into the playoffs they still won the the superbowl. some teams take a liitle bit to find there identity. Cville is playing as good as anybody right now. thats all that matters. should be a GREAT GAME.

Finally Coatesville gets a test. I’ve never seen an easier path for a team through the playoffs. Every team they have faced came off an upset of a higher ranked team.

Rick, have you seen the scores? C’mon man !!!! No team other than an overrated D EAST team scored more than 28 Points? C’ mon man

  17. @Dan

This is reminiscent of last year when ACC strolled through the the playoffs beating inferior competition before getting waxed by Wood. You talk about McDermott, last they they had Nosovitch and Gulyas and still lost by 8 touchdowns. You are now up against the real deal not Selinsgrove or Wyoming Valley. As long as the refs aren’t from Dist 11 the location won’t matter.

  18. If you havent been to one of the 4 Coatesville games, 204 points in 4 games, Wake up, I have never seen a high school team play to this caliber! I’m sure La Salle is good, but Im sure in they cant handle THIS COATESVILLE team. Regardsless of stats see ya all friday night.
    C-ville 38 La Salle 28
