  1. @wolfman, you’re starting to sound like the D11 stooges. AW last year and AW this year are two entirely different teams. The 2011 AW team was a team that AW will most likely never see again.

That said, this AW team is at least 3 scores better than this ACC team. Plus Buddy picked ACC; this guy is the kiss of death; make it 4 scores Since Buddy likes ACC.

  2. LS defense better be lights out. Cville offense can beat you in so many ways. load up the box to stop there run you better have great one on one cover guys. if you go two deep safties they will run the football all night.they are big and very very fast and probably have the best QB. in the area.

  3. Congrats to the winners this weekend. Saw a good game between Dunmore and Bristol. Dunmore line is very powerful and their two backs are very good. Bristol’s RB was the most electrifying athlete on the field making positive yardage out of would be stops in the backfield. That kid has a great future.
We are down to the final two for the eastern reps.
    Early Predictions.
    Dunmore over Bellwood
    Wood over ACC
    La Salle over Coatesville
Imhotep and Wyomissing is hard to judge with both teams posting lopsided victories.
Imhotep looks like the favorite especially having all 1 way starters.

  4. warriorpoet, it might not be recruiting in the sense of college teams. What it is though, that kids know what non public schools are doing to build perenial playoff teams. If one can afford it and it could mean getting into a better college, why would a kid not want to play for that school(s)

  5. @ Jay Farmer and anyone who comments about recruiting,

Lets make a hypothetical situation here, say you and your 8th grade son who plays football move to the Philadelphia Area(lets just say Montgomery County). Let’s assume that you are Catholic and your kid has gone to a Catholic grade school his whole life. Now you got a choice to go ANY PHILA. ARCHDIOCESAN HIGH SCHOOL or your local Public school. Where are you sending your kid???? I’ll answer for you: Lasalle, Wood, or Prep.

Please tell me where the recruiting is being done to bring your son to Lasalle, Wood, or Prep! None of yous people who live outside of Philly realize the reputation that surrounds these schools academically and athletically. Most people in the Phila. area are Catholic and naturally they send their kids to a Catholic school!

  6. @warriorpoet
I could not agree more with your last comment.
    @Jay Faramer
wheres the proof? Or can you just not deal with the fact that the talent level is better at the catholic schools and the coaching is alot better

  7. @Jay Farmer

You are making very bold, damaging comments. You should be prepared to back them up. Since you are so sure that reciting is taking place, give the specific names of players at LaSalle and Wood that you are so sure have been recruited.

You are confusing geographic distance with recruiting. If a student travels more than a few miles to school then you automatically assume that recruiting is taking place and you are wrong. For example, the best players on LaSalle….Coleman, Hoffman, Spiteri, Naji, Herron….not a single one was recruited. The landscape has changed and these are now the powerhouse programs and you and all the other posters out there who cry “recruiting” every time a Catholic League team has success must learn to deal with it. These teams have better coaches, great winning traditions, and outstanding education opportunities. Those factors are what “recruit” kids to the schools and nothing else.

  8. Parkland only runnning could only take them so far. La Salle loaded the box baby and stopped the run, something Del Val did not understand the week before. It’s amazing what scouting can do along with common sense!

  9. Not even a contest La salle cruised to that win. Coatesville vs LS should be a fun game i think La Salle has the advantage, that defense is lights out

  10. La Salle defense had a field day today. Steinmetz had it all locked up right from the beginning. Parkland looked like a one trick pony after a while. Coleman was the MVP today like he’s been all year. Anybody who knows high school football knows that was, well you know.

  11. Just got home from the LaSalle – Parkland game wow what a mismatch. If Parkland is the best AAAA team in Dist 11 then it is way down this year. Parkland was very small upfront, LaSalle completely dominated the line of scrimmage had at least 12 sacks. I ‘m sure that Parkland had net negative yards after 3 qtrs, they consistently had 4th and 15 to 20 yards to go to make a first down on almost every drive. Still not convinced LaSalle has the talent to win a state championship this year but they were by far superior in every aspect today.

  12. last night saw dunmore vs. bristol dunmore looks very strong they need a little more passing to keep other teams from loading the box however no one has been able to stop there ground game so far, even while loading up for the run they have great players throughout there lineup even southern columbia could not stop them tailback/ linebacker austin seamon seems to make big plays whenever they find themselves struggling you got to watch film of this game to see his impact an incredible performance also bristol was very good there tailback is excellent however they were the dirtiest team i saw in my memory i attend lots of games all over eastern pa the coach needs to reign in the unsportsmanlike behavior of his team ie; taunting late hits fighting and complaining i was surprised that only 1 of his players was ejected this marred what was otherwie a great game.

  13. Just returned from the La Salle – Parkland game. Maybe Parkland had a bad day but if that is truly what they are they would get destroyed by Prep and struggle with Roman. La Salle’s defense totally dominated. In the first two series of the second half I think La Salle had 5 tackles for a loss. The Explorers were very impressive today on both sides of the ball and way more physical than Parkland.

  14. Mikey,
Concerning Lehigh Valley schools bringing a lot of fans to away games, I was at ACC/Abington Heights game, probably less than 100 fans to see a fine team play a great game. Valley View is only one hour and 15 minutes from Allentown.

  15. @wolfman

you just proved my previous comment….i didn’t say aac would win…i said you’re a stooge who has an opinion based on nothing because you have not seen acc….(i’d be surprised if you have seen wood)…and you proved me right by your latest entry…by the way…what does last yr have to do with this yr…i stand by my opinion of people like you…everything that is wrong with high school sports…

  16. What a game lastnight Coatesville over Spring-ford 59-28 . Its great to see another team in the district [1] area up top on the charts . Coatesville is very well coached and is ready for anything that comes at them . Today we will find out who we will play Lasalle or Parkland . And for everybody talking about [North Allegheny ] they play nobody even close to them to me it looks like easy wins and games all the time . Just take a look at thier playoff brk . But one game at a time and we will find out who’s who on here . Like i said before [ SPEED KILLS ] here comes COATESVILLE …..

  17. ACC will beat Wood. It should be a close game though. I don’t think ACC can stop them from scoring due to their running game, ACC will simple have to out-score them, and I think they can.
Ron ( from below) has it about right.

Whoever wins the LaSalle/Parkland ( hopefully Parkland), won’t get past Coatesville. Althoug it will also be a tight game.

From all appearances, no one gets past NA.

  18. @Johnny

Perhaps I don’t understand what I’m talking about so I need your help….
Last year ACC had a QB who was recruited to play in the SEC and a WR who gained more yards than any receiver in the history of PA football. Yet despite that they were pasted 70-14 by Wood and it could have been far worse, as hard as that is to believe. This year ACC has neither of those stud players back and you still think that they will beat Wood? Help me understand……

  19. @RON

Looking at all of your previous posts you are obviously a fan of Lehigh Valley area football. It has clearly clouded your judgement…..Wood will dominate a small ACC team, not to the rediculous level of last year but it will only take you a few minutes of watching to realize who the vastly superior team is. Like @wolfman, I was at the game last year and it was the most lopsided physical mismatch of any high school game that I had ever seen. Despite losing all of those D1 linemen, Wood remains much more physical and much larger on the line of scrimmage than ACC. Guckin is just as good as McDermott, and the freshman QB won’t matter because he will not need to throw much. After ACC gets blown out I’m sure that we won’t hear from you again.

  20. @wolfman

.acc did not have any 195lb lineman last yr…you haven’t seen acc this yr yet you make statements based on what…nothing…how do you know wood is far physically superior…let me answer that for you…you don’t…as i have said in the past…people like you ruin this site and high school sports in general…you have no idea what you are talking about and Mika lets you put it on the site…

apologies to larry, moe, and curly…

  21. Any one out their know anything about Bellwood-Antis?What do they run passing team, running team defence they run ?

  22. Im picking ACC over WOOD in eastern final
    1. home district field advantage
    2. running back Mcdermott who will be hard to stop for wood.
    3. wood using a freshman qb is asking for trouble in this emotionable game.
    4. my prediction Acc 21 Wood 14.
