  1. to D11 football, since you know football, what could Del Val have done differently to win that game? What does parkland do now since they have no passing game to show a differnt look?

  2. @Jason Everybody in this blog is ignoring Selinsgrove and Interboro in AAA. As for Selinsgrove, of the three teams they lost to(berwick, southern columbia and danville), only Danville is still in the playoffs. The HAC conference is like the BIG10, no respect. But they beat up on each other. Both ACC and Wood could lose this weekend.

  3. LaSalle and Parkland game Saturday at 1pm , Northeast high in Phila . Im thinking its going to be Coatesville vs LaSalle in the finals . The final game will be good for sure , but im going with Coatesville to take it all to Hershey . Lasalle is a very good team this year and i have seen them play , but i also seen Coatesville play and [ SPEED KILLS ] nobody on Lasalle can keep up if they get a open field . But i guess we will see in a couple weeks .. Good luck to all the teams . C-VILLE GRAD ’96’

  4. @Mike, kind of like on those occasions that D11 actually beats a D12 team, they remember and celebrate the date each year.

    Liberty in 2008
    ACC in 2010

It’s all you ever hear about.

  5. @Mike and @Div1

The Wood/ACC bantor has started already-love it! Although you should both be very careful this week with your opponents. Interboro has huge momentum behind them and Selinsgrove seems to have gotten their mojo back from a few years ago. But,I do think Wood will win rather easily and ACC should win as well.
Look- Two years ago the Wood faithful were chest pumping at how great Wood was and that nobody could hang with them and then ACC beat them 48-28. Last year ACC fans were crowing how Wood was overrated, and then Wood went out and completely dismantled them by putting up 70 points, and probably could have scored more before pulling their starters. To be fair to ACC,last year’s Wood team was one of the best in the area in a long time and finished the year nationally ranked.

You guys can’t live in the past anymore as this year is a whole different year. Look at North Penn who made it all the way to Hershey last year and did not even make playoffs this year. We had high hopes for the Knights this year but it just didn’t pan out.

I do think if Wood/ACC do play this year, Wood will most likely win but not by nearly the margin as last year, probably by 7-14 points.

Whoever represents the EAST is sure to have their hands full with Catherdral or McD. But I do see Wood winning it again behind the strength of their offensive line. Both Wood and ACC are excellent programs that should battle each other for years to come. So rather than put each other’s teams down, just enjoy the great football.
Lasalle and NP have started their own little rivalry and it has been fun to watch.

  6. @Jack I played for parkland and now play for moravian, trust me I know more about football than you ever will. I was in that program and I know football from studying it for hours and hours. I was at the game against del val.

  7. @Div 1 kind of like all the PCL people predicted a wood blowout in 2010, and that Brendan Nosovitch number were “inflated” how did that turn out? …….601 yards I think. Wood will win this year. It seems that anytime a PCL team is beaten they forget that year somewhow.

  8. Buddy didn’t u predict a win last year also against wood, and most of the acc fans, I forgot the score was 70 to 14, I think they are both great teams, but woods line is just as big this year…. And in h.s. football most of the games are won on the l.o.s.

  9. Another huge difference for LaSalle is the health of Spiteri. He is a year out from ACL and his sprained ankle is better. Since he’s been healthy starting with the West Catholic game, the run defense has been very good. Parkland offense similar to the Prep. Spiteri didn’t play first game on defense and second game La Salle pretty much stopped their running game. I don’t see a Parkland win without a passing attack. Also LaSalle’s O-line finally healthy which has improved the running game and pass protection. Kane throws for 4 scores and LaSalle wins by 10+

  10. @trad i have to agree with you on Selinsgrove, let look at the numbers the teams they beat were 30-40 on the season. they lost to an A team and a AA team, they only have 5 AAA teams on their schedule.
Feelings around here is they would be a 500 team in the L.F.C and we saw what A.C.C did to Abington.Really don’t think they have seen a running game like A.C.C. I agree i don’t think it will be close

  11. @Jim I would argue it is how good you are not about balance. Jim Morgans teams in the 1990’s rarely threw the ball and won 2 state titles. CB West barely ever threw the ball and was unbelievable throughout Pettines tenure. Some of those great WPIAL teams never threw the ball they just lined up beat you up. Parkland has good mix. Part of the reason they have only thrown for about 100 yards a game is that they have gotten up by so much. In the district 11 championship they threw for a 100 yards in the first half and 2 TD’s but the game was out of reach. Against Easton they threw all over the place I think it would have been over 200 yards 3 TD’s but a bunch were called back for dumb penalties.

  12. Rooting for Parkland, but with 100 yards passing average per game, will that hurt them now? I have to think being more balanced on O is what it takes once a team gets to the top 8. What type of team is LaSalle on O/D?

  13. @PCL FAN

Agree with everything you say about La Salle including your assessment of the previous teams. But I think their running game will be more in the playoffs. Meachum is healthy again with a playoff game under his belt (granted it was Frankford) and Herron out of the wild cat poses more running trouble for Parkland. Steinmetz’ defense is what it is-the best. La Salle by 2 scores.

  14. Trad no offense but you cant go by that Berwick game. That was the first game Selinsgrove decided to start their Sophmore QB and Freshman RB this young team is getting stronger and stronger every week they will give ACC a fight. This Seals team will be around for a while.

  15. @ mikey wasn’t trying to compare defences was actually makeing light of all the points being scored in these playoffs.I will be impressed if Lasalle can shut down Parkland .I expect a high scoring game

  16. Not sure why some people are picking Selinsgrove over ACC. Selinsgrove lost to Berwick and scored 7 points (I believe it was a defensive TD not sure though). Abington Heights dropped 44 on Berwick and ACC handled Abington Heights pretty easily. I see ACC in a rout.
