  1. @Colin I did not say anything about Frankford in my post. I realize what happened in the Frankford game. Same as in the West Catholic game QB was out and the game did not mean much. I think you meant @D11Football and I cannot imagine that D11Football is actually a D11Football fan especially a Parkland fan. I have a hunch he is D12 guy getting something going. Believe me I am close to the Parkland program and nobody is thinking about Coatsville, Springford, or Hershey. They are very aware of the challenge in front of the. I do not think it will be a blow out. As I said before I think this is the best rep D12 has seen since the last time D11 beat D12 in 2008 when Liberty won the state title. That does not change the outcome however. I do think this game will be close.

  2. I think that there is no way possible for parkland to STOP the lasalle offense. I do however think they have a good chance of slowing them down and if they get a few stops on 3rd down and rely on their juggernaut offense, they will be able to beat them. should be one hell of a game

  3. No disrespect to D4 AAA or Selinsgrove. They made it this far, like Shamokin last season. They played weak competition to get there like last season. ACC plays very competitive teams in D11. Just looking at who the Seals played and Berwick for one beat them up as did Southern Columbia.
Berwick was a decent team that would have had 3 more losses if it were in the LFC this season. ACC is the better team but like you said, let the kids play and we will see this weekend. Good luck to the Seals.

  4. This LaSalle team is the weakest overall of the teams during the run, just looks at the stats and schedule. 2010 had the best Defense by far, 2009 the best Offense. 2011 was more balanced on offense but lost Coleman in the Eastern Final which was the difference. The 2012 team can throw with the best WRs going. Have not been able to run. On defense no pass defense compared to other LaSalle teams.

That aside, if Parkland cannot play pass defense not sure how anyone thinks they are going to stop LaSalle. Can’t pass like Parkland can’t and you will never be able to pound it down the field, just ask the Prep.

LaSalle by 2 scores at least.

  5. Go on disrespecting D4 AAA and Selinsgrove. Lest you all forget, the Seals beat both ACC and Wood. But as someone wrote previously, all of us couch potatoes and wanna be players aren’t playing the game. Let the boys play!

  6. @D11 If parkland’s weak point is the passing D, then i think it will be a rough day for Parkland. Because lasalle dosent really even rely on the run, they usually mix it in ever so often, but they will pass the hell out of you if you cant defend. Just ask North Penn (17-25 286 yards 3 Tds) or SJ prep(31-46 328 yds with 4 TDs) And honestly Prep DBs are very good this year, in fact sophomore John Reid is getting looks from LSU and Alabama, but Chris Kane torn him apart. I think its going to be a great game, LaSalle has handled whatever D11 has thrown their way in the past. Close game, Lasalle by 3.

  7. good point josh. still would argue that coatesville offense is the scariest right now though. Parkland’s weakest point has been their defense especially the passing D. Lasalle should be able to move the ball on them but against the run they are solid and offensively unstoppable.

  8. Jack,

Lasalle could have scored as much as they wanted to in the FKD game. Dogs were called off early. Big mistake to ever think a score is indicative of what team is better than another in HS football. Should always be more worried about the team you are playing because you may not play the team you expect to if you win anyways. Thats kinda like last years North Penn being more worried About North Allhegeny and then Central Dauphin shows up.

  9. Coatesville just scored 63 points on Neshaminy. Lasalle put up 37 on a weaker Frankford public league team. that is why I am more worried about Coatesville.

  10. @D11Football What are you smoking? The winner of Lasalle/Parkland will most likely go to Hershey to rep the east. I am a D11 and Parkland fan. That is absolutely nuts to be more worried about coatsville than Lasalle. Coatsville could very easily lose. Parkland has a shot and it will be a very close game. I think our friends to the south think this is Easton who does not care about state playoffs or nazareth who was soft. This is easily the best rep D12 has seen since Liberty in 2008. But that does not mean Parkland wins. Lasalle is better than they were in 2010 (I think ACC would have beat them by 3 TD’s that year) but not quite as good as they were last year.

  11. Alot of talk from everyone in PCL and D12 and all over Eastern PA.. However, there are no answers!! Let them play the games. The young men will decide the outcome.. None of you will.. just saying.

  12. @D11 Football
Really, you are more worried about Coatesville than La Salle. I wouldn’t be so sure. La Salle wins by 10

  13. On the D12 question. I have a lot of respect for the PCL and what it has done. My relatives played at both St Joes and OHara. I have always said it was the most competitive league in the state. The issue I raised is with Imhotep and the concept of charter schools going beyond sports. Charter schools are in no way considered Public Schools. They may get public funding however it was voted down that they are to the same rigors as Public Schools. Could it be that our idiot governor’s director of education owns the biggest Charters in the state. Coincidence they are not held accountable the same way Public Schools are. So please don’t tell me Imhotep Charter is not capitalizing on this premise just as many others are. That is my last response to that. It was never an attack on D12 it is an attack on the smoke and mirrors that is presented by most Charters (which would be failing under public school accountability).
About the games coming up. I like Parkland over La Salle (I still think St Joes is the best team in AAAA)
Dunmore over Bristol. Saw the film on them and I don’t think they have the size to match up. All Dunmore has to do is run behind their massive line.
I also think Wyomissing should take care of business.
ACC will beat Selingsgrove. D4 AAA has been weaker these past 2 years.
Wood will have trouble with Interboro. You don’t lose 7 D1 players and be a better team the next season. I still think Wood and ACC rematch will take place. Neither of these teams will beat West A. Or McD.

  14. @mark d Lasalle defense this year is maybe the best I’ve seen it since they won states back in 2009. They are huge up front with Tom Spiteri, Pat Hoffman, Andrew Carlone and Dave Losier clogging things up in the middle and LBs Zaire Franklin and Mike Eife making plays all over the field. Also CBs Dadd Poquie, Jimmy Heron, and Sean Coleman have shut down some pretty prolific offences so far this year.

  15. parkland will not lose to lasalle this year. more worried about a potential coatesville matchup in the state semi’s… that team can score at will.

  16. I’m not sure if ACC will get past Sellinsgrove, but if they do, they will beat Wood, assuming Wood doesn’t lose to Interboro.

The best game this weekend should be, by far, LaSalle/Parkland.

Wonder if that game is televized?

  17. For what it worth talking to some Berwick people they think Abington would have beat Selinsgrove by 14.A.C.C a much stronger team
Does any body play defence Lasalle 88 Parkland 85 lol

  18. Buddy,
I think an ACC vs Wood matchup would be great theatre for sure. I was at BASD 2 years ago and Northeast last year for the rematch. I must admit I have seen Wood 2x this year and ACC only onc, but Wood just looks so much bigger and more athletic than ACC. I think Wood lost 5-6 D1 players to graduation but they look like they havent missed a beat. ACC RB is a stud and could cause Wood problems, but I just cant see ACC defense being able to stop that huge offensive line. What are your thoughts?

Of course, they both have tough games this week and must win first. Selinsgrove is no slouch. I hope Interboro wins, but i think it will take a miracle.

  19. Coatesville by 10 over Springfield
    Lasalle by 3 over Parkland
    Wood over Interboro by 24
    ACC over Selinsgrove by 7
Imhotep over Pen Arg by 35
    Wyomissing over Danville by 10

  20. I realize Wood lost a lot of talent from last year, but are they down so far as to lose to a mediocre ACC team? ACC’s O-line is decent and McDermott is a beast at RB, but they are not as good as last year and light years away from the talent they had two years ago.

  21. @ Mika:

Check again, I got ACC to win.

We disagree on Wood though. I think it’s wishful thinking on my part regarding Wood.

If Wood does win this week, they will definetly lose the following week.
