  1. @NWPhilly LaSalle had already clinched a spot in the AAAA PCL playoffs, so the game against West (which was the last regular season game) didn’t really matter. And Star Qb Chris Kane didn’t plaay because of injury

  2. That is a real doozy of schedule you got down there…North Allegany would be up 75-0 at half. Wait until the quips get a hold of the Philly Pub All-Stars. DO they even go to class at Imhotep? Did David Sills dad start this school too? You philly people are unreal!

  4. I said it last week when I saw it first hand, Imhotep is a AA school who will defeat any team I. The state. They have given up the least points in Pa and scored the most as well. Last week they dominated West Catholic from the opening kickoff on to a 40-8. West catholic gave Lasalle the fight of their life got a narrow victory. The backs on that Imhotep team are amazing along with their stud o-line. Not a player plays both sides of the ball either. I walk out of their game tonight when they reached 55 points against a tough AAA team. If the did not have a running clock they could easily score 70 a game. For those in other parts of the State, do what you can to see the show they put on and remember some names. We will see many we will see making strides on the college level.

  5. Josh – Good point. I thought SJP was going to get ’em 2x’s. I was at both and great games they were.

Kmac – great insight but want to add that SV runs pretty much the same O as LaSalle with a QB getting D1 looks and a running back who is a stud..NA shut them down twice.

Phillyboy – This year champ… not last year.

  6. @soup
I agree with you when it comes to the West, but I have to disagree about la salles run game. We all thought prep was one of the best teams in the state and i have to say LA salle pretty much dominated that game without much running success, I dont think a team on this side of Pa has a defensive line to get to La Salle’s qb or the secondary to cover their receivers, but thats why they play the games

  7. @ ? and Soup
North Allegheny does indeed look scary this year. Art Walker Jr’s club is averaging 40.5 points per game while yielding 6.8 ppg. They are 12-0 against all 4A teams that included Gateway, Pittsburgh CC, and Seneca Valley whose only 2 losses were to NA. An 8-game stretch of regular season their D yielded scores of 7 – 3 – 3 – 0 – 3 – 0 – 7 – 0. No one has over two TDs on them; the last playoff game with SV getting 17 the high score.

  8. markd, DV has a good D, at times their scheme hurts them, but the players are pretty good. Parkland is solid all the way around. Looking for a close one that lives up to the reward of sub regional champion

  9. @Jim and mark d I know how good the QB is, and I think if it becomes a shoot out the Parkland Defense will get 1 or 2 more stops than Del Val Defense. I did not think this until I read up on Parkland. They have a RB with over 1000, QB with over 1200 passing and 1000 rushing, they have another RB with over 800, and another with 500 rushing. from looking at the scores it does not seem anyone has stopped the offense and there defense has settled in since the last time they played DV. Parkland beat that Whitehall team 52-20 or something. I am hoping District 2 can end the losing to District 11 this saturday in all 3 classes!! Go Warriors!

  10. I feel that it been Del Valley offence that carried them all year,if the game come down to the offence to win it i think it in Del Val favor. To be honest dont know much about Parkland

  11. Yeah. There’s no way the D12 champ should get a bye during the playoffs. That’s completely unfair and ridiculous. If their bracket has one less round then they should start their playoffs one week later to synchronize with the other brackets.

  12. @ Soup

Ouch. That’s good stuff, man. The top 5 out west would have a shot to beat the east’s best. NA came up small last year against Central Dauphin. We’ll see what’s up, yo.

  13. Mike, I think a shootout goes to Del Val. That kid has proved he can run and or throw and make great decisions under pressure. He marched them down the field in game 1 and made the call to go for 2 against Whitehall. I agree with your second point

  14. @Mark d I absolutely think that Del Val/Parkland is going to be a great game. But if it gets to a shootout Parkland wins. If it is a score in the 20’s DV wins.

  15. IF NA gets through the West they will roll over anyone out here in the East. The West’s top 5 would have a shot at the East’s best this year…. The west is stacked top to bottom this year. Everyone here has to agree that the East is on a down year,no? I do not think LaSalle will make the finals unless they can run the ball.

Neshaminy over Coatesville . It will be a good game friday night. Hopefully they have a good crowd on both sides. NESHAMINY 28 COATESVILLE 26

Really? lets hope it is a good crowd, Coatesville will win this game and end up playing pennridge.

  17. For what it worth
Del Valley 38 Parkland 35(it going to be a great game)
A.C.C 28 Abington 14(lack of a running game hurts Abington)
PenArgyl 28 Wyoming Area 17(not enough defence for Wyoming Area)
    S Columbia 21 Dunmore 20(should be a phycial war 2 huge lines)

  18. @Josh
Yes, North Allegheny looks to be extremely powerful from the West side. In fact, while as you know, the West has never swept all four classes at the state finals, I think they have perhaps their best shot this season in quite a while.

  19. Neshaminy over Coatesville . It will be a good game friday night. Hopefully they have a good crowd on both sides. NESHAMINY 28 COATESVILLE 26.

  20. @Kmac
I have to agree i dont think anyone on this side of PA can hang with La Salle, however i am excited to see a North Allegheny vs La Salle state final

  21. @Joe,

Parkland is opening the game this week against DV in a 3-5-3 scheme. I suppose you aren’t close to the program (it’s ok). I think that’ll be a very tight and highly contested game.

I think the reason D-11/2/4 subregional winner has struggled to advance because the Catholic league gets a bye week before they meet. When D-11 played the pub league and D1 had to play themselves it gave the D-11 team such a huge advantage. The Pub League game wasn’t nearly as physical and it allowed an almost week of rest. Now D-12 gets a bye week to rest and get healthy and they just seem to have a little too much when it comes to the 4th quarter as the last 3 years proved.

  22. Picks for this weekend:

    Coatesville
    Pennridge
    Parkland
    WC Henderson
    ACC
    Pen Argyl
    Williams Valley
    Southern Columbia

And a nice relaxing bye week for Wood & LaSalle! Sorry, I had to.

    Happy Thanksgiving to all.

  23. Joe,

SCA/Dunmore looks to be an all-out war on paper. Two physical, fundamental and well-coached football teams. Dunmore has been incredibly tough since getting its top two rushers back and Southern Columbia enjoys the benefit of six backs with 300+ rushing yards. I have a feeling it’s going to come down to quarterback play and which team’s field general blinks first versus the one who plays the most efficient game. Brandon Kujawski has a 4:1 TD-to-INT ratio (8 TDs, 2 INT; and Southern’s Taylor Young had a year to grow and learn the Delaware Wing-T under a steady, reliable senior Brad Fegley. Young has a 4.3:1 TD-to-INT ratio (13 TD, 3 INT) and has 1,030 yards through the air. Also, Southern’s defense has bent at times this season, as has Dunmore’s, so it will be critical to see how either team responds on that side of the ball if the other can get any sustained drives going. I’d think there will be a good deal of 3-and-outs and not a lot of scoring. I pick Southern, but narrowly. If Dunmore would win, it really shouldn’t be looked at as an upset.
