  1. Joe Dobbs,

They are in the “News” section under the title “2012 Statewide Football Rankings – Week 12.” Normally, they’re in the top slot on the main page until Wednesday, but we had some posts and stuff that took up the bulk of the main page this week. Check under the “News” section and leave any feedback you have – good, bad, indifferent, etc. It’s Thanksgiving on Thursday, so hopefully I don’t have to eat any crow before I enjoy a heaping pile of turkey.

  2. OL coach at it again. Just can’t help submitting smart-ass replies!

I’ve often wondered why D1 final is at a neutral site. It’s still the district 1 playoffs!
Why have seedings if they ignore them for the final!
Other districts don’t do this. I was at the D11 AA final Sat., & it was at Catty, the top seed.
    Neither does D2,11 & 4.

If you are one of the top seeds in D1, and make it to the final, then you earned the right for a home game. I think that’s something that should be addressed.

  3. O L Coach could use a little help went to the PIAA site but could find nothing on rules for playoff sites, always thought that they were netural fields for state games ?

  4. @Josh
A loaded question, and most difficult question this season. The undefeated teams are in the smaller school classes; and possibly one of them could be “best” in the east, but it is hard to pick one over AAA or AAAA schools in principle. There are no undefeated teams in the Eastern AAA or AAAA brackets to say, “nobody has beaten them.” In fact, triple-A is full of 2 and 3-loss teams and even a 5-loss team! Perhaps the best team in the east is a team that might win a western championship; say Bishop McDevitt? If I were forced to make a guess, and that is all it is; I would have to go with LaSalle right now.

  5. @RON quit being a sore loser. Berwick couldn’t stop an Abington Heights offense who could not muster a TD in its previous 2 games against Valley View and Scranton (2 other lackawanna league teams btw). And no one ever said AH was suppose to make it to the eastern finals against wood, let alone beat them. In fact, Dallas, Valley View, and Berwick were the front runners to win districts at the beggining of the year. So I don’t know why you are trying to talk about abington beating wood in the eastern finals. AH will prolly lose to ACC.

  6. @ Bert,Abington Heights played a spread offense against berwick, first time all season, i never thought AH would resort to a passing game against berwick. guess ah figured they had better chance of winning by passing the ball rather than running the ball. AH defense gave up 35 points against a wvc team, never expected that did you bert? AH has a slow defense, will not win eastern final against wood.

  7. o l coach i’d rather not get into details..sorry just venting a little today after reading a bunch of BS on the blogs.

  8. I suggest you all take 10 minutes and learn what the PIAA regs are regarding home and neutral fields; district finals and intersectional games. The schools have nothing to do wih it.

  9. @fan22, are you just bashing all coaches? Name nanmes! Now that you mention it, I didn’t know what the hell your post was whining about to begin with!

  10. Just a shout out to all who had Berwick in Eastern final the day George Curry was hired. As much as I respect what he’s done in his career, I couldn’t get past the soft schedule he played this year. How about that stodgy Scranton area offense Abington Heights played? The times they are a changin.

  11. Cumberland Valley’s Tim Rimpfel to retire. Had 307 wins at CV and Bishop McDevitt (HGB). In 24 years at CV had nine district 3 titles and three second place finishes in district 3. Had two District 3 titles with BM. Also a head coach and assitant coach for the BIG 33.

  12. Refs make calls and miss calls. In these playoffs Ive seen such sore losers. When coaches
shake your hand and say “better thank the refs” at the end of the game it says somthing about the class your program has and reflects on your community. They forget about the great game they have just seen and take all the credit away from the kids playing.

  13. markd go to team info up top and you can drill down to AAAA playoff brackets. There are a couple games on a home field.

  14. @Mark d I think because Del Val/Parkland is still considered the sub-regional playoffs is why it is at DV. Only state playoff games are neutral. I could be wrong but I believe that is why

  15. Was looking at the brackets on this site the Scranton paper had Abington & A.C.C at Scranton Memorial Stadium Sat at one, not at Valley View.Del Valley is playing at home?

  16. @Jeff well I guess you do not pay too much attention to Parkland because they are 4-3 and the they go to a 3 man front in nickel situations.
