  1. @harryaston
do you have any proof that LS has out of state players or are you just saying that because they kicked the crap out of your Alma mater?

  2. Not sure how parkland jumps Scranton in rankings. They lost to Dv who lost to Scranton. DV beat Whitehall who beat Easton. WHitehall dangerous team right now. TOugh one they lost. Easton has injury bug no?

  3. I like Pennsbury out of D1 there big with pepper and the Mac kid both Division 1 players
And I see Plakland in the east vs pennsbury
2 of the biggest and better programs in the state

  4. @ harryaston.

I don’t know how far back you want to go but La Salle’s place kicker for the last three years has been Winslow from Upper Dublin. Before that Mike Bennett was their kicker. He was from Upper Dublin also. 5 minutes down the road.

  5. Philly Pub, you are correct that LS, Prep and Wood can attract kids from multiple school districts. However, in LS and SJP instance there is a large commitment in terms of time, money and travel. $ 18,600 plus you have to be accepted. You will not see LS or Prep bringing in kids for just a senior year or even Jr and Sr years due to the rigorous curriculum. Now we all know that Public schools move kids around when they really want them. Right now, the best grade school athlete is a Philly kid and guess who attends his games– NPenn Coaches,Abington coaches, along with Prep, Judge,Roman. Now let’s educate you on the largest regional recruiting school in the area– Philly’s own George Washington. They literally transfer kids in to their team mid season from teams they just played in some cases. Good Ol’ Ron Cohen uses the “dangerous situation ” rule and bypasses as transfer restrictions. The reason no ne makes a big deal is they haven’t won the PIAA yet. Tony Smith left Judge which means he should go to Lincoln in his neighborhood. He ends up at Washington due to dangerous situation , yet he never stepped foot inside Lincoln HS . Do you want to dispute the shady situation? Also, when CB West was dominant they had plenty of kids from East playing for them, they offered certain classes at West so they used that to draw the kids. Rod Stone was AD there and never seemed to have a problem collecting talented kids from another school. Hope this helps. Also you didn’t realize, I responded to a chucklehead who said LS has players from Maryland, NJ, Del. It is coaching buddy, believe me. Makes all the difference!

  6. @ Jimbo

If a kid lives within a public school district that is already very successful such as Central Bucks that by the way is also free then why would you willingly want to spend thousands of dollars unnecessarily and deal with the transportation challenges? Arguably, that could be considered dopey.

  7. I know la salle and st joe’s both have kids on their rosters from outside the state of pennsylvania- that is a fact- at least jerry admits to st joe’s having new jersey kids and la salle’s place kicker several years ago was from southern california- both school’s are competing for a PA state title? thats just great- I’m a dope and a sore loser and don’t know anything, however, sure does not make sense to me……

  8. @harryaston,what a dope; it’s obvious you know nothing about PCL programs especially LaSalle. Nor do you know a thing about the financial committmen a family makes sending a son to the school. Stick to what you know; whatever that is.

  9. Jerry, the point is that as a “regional” school, LaSalle can “attract” from anywhere. Coleman is Doylestown kid. He could only go to CB East, but if South or West wanted him, not going to happen. LaSalle, Wood, SJP have open enrollment. You want them, go get them. Not true for the publics. Wood wanted Adams from South. Different set of rules. A talented young QB from CBEast transfered to Wood because it offerred a better opportunity, and they made it worthwhile. Don’t pretend it’s about coaching. Not saying there aren’t talented staffs, but the talent level pool that can be pulled from is unlimited. Stop with the pretense.

  10. Harryaston–loser comments about LS and Prep. 80% of LS kids are legacy kids. Rest of kids come from within 15 miles of the school. Don’t be a sore loser. LS has it’s first FBS player –punter Ryan Winslow in 15 years. Who the he’ll is the recruiting director? He s doing a terrible job in getting D 1 type kids…. These kids are football players with high Football IQ s cultivated by a terrific staff. Stop the nonsense. What is your team? I’m quite sure LS staff would make your team a championship contender in a year or 2. Prep kids do come from New Jersey since the school is 20 minutes from NJ. Give LS staff Pennsbury or NPenn Roster and they win multiple titles in a 5 year span. Stop the recruiting noise. Great schools ATTRACT Great Kids.

  11. @PCL Whether it be Parkland, Del Val, or Scranton (PV can’t win this sub-regional) I think all 3 are better than Nazareth this year. This will most likely be the best Sub-Regional winner that District 12 has seen since Liberty in 08, when I believe GW upset the PCL team. Liberty won the state title. But I think whoever comes out is the best look since that Liberty team. Does not mean the outcome won’t be the same, but all 3 are better than Nazareth a year ago.

  12. Boy, was I wrong. Garnet Valley really laid an egg. I expected a lot more out of them, considering how they played the last game of reg season.

  13. Barry, most respectfully, there isn’t one kid from another state on La Salle’s team so I’m not quite sure what you are talking about. The super majority of the kids are from Catholic grade schools in the area.

  14. @harryaston……don’t know a single LaSalle player from any of those locales…can we stop with this recruiting nonsense..Great coaching and dedicated players are what it takes.
It was a great game played by two great teams. Congrats to the Prep on a great season. Go Explorers!!

  15. The LaSalle passing game is a fine tuned machine. Not to take anything away from Wissahickon but was surprised D. East lost to #16 seed. They have no defense. Remember they gave up around 50 to Penncrest a few years ago.

  16. LaSalle -Prep game was exciting. Could have gone either way. LaSalle pulls away with the win. Was that for the state championship? Or at least the finals? Were these two teams that good? How does scranton, del val,Parkland or Pl val size up? Are these teams as good as Naz was last year?

  17. ACC vs Berwick would be great! It would bring back the days of the 90’s. Remember how good 3A football was in back in the 90’s ACC, Berwick, Strath Haven, and Manheim Central. Man those games were unreal.

  18. Very distinct possibility that CB South doesn’t get past Neshaminy. They are a verteran playoff team that hits another level in playoffs.

Same scenerio with Pennsbury/Pennridge. They ( Pennsbury) are the biggest team in D1 and they really bring it during playoffs.

I predict two upsets there ( albeit minor upsets).

  19. you’re right solfootballfan- beating regional high schools like st.joes or la salle very tough, especially when rosters are littered with new jersey, delaware and maryland students……

  20. if cb south wins against neshaminy i think they have potential to make it the the district 1 finals and maybe even win it. however beating a team like st. joes or la salle in the next game would be tough
