  1. Attended the La Salle-Prep game today. Great atmosphere, probably as many people as the 2010 state semifinal game v. North Penn. Two great teams, most impressive things to me were La Salle’s defense, which really kept Prep’s ground attack in check, and Sean Coleman, with 4 TDs and 14 catches after being hit so hard three different times that I thought he was out of the game. Prep showed a lot of heart in their second half comeback. Great game.

  2. Hats off to Berwick. The game was 9-7 in the fourth so Dallas played a lot better but Berwick apparently too much. I’ll take Berwick over AH. A berwick ACC game would be AWESOME

  3. Berwick defeats Dallas 28-7 to advance to d2 aaa title game at crispin field, against Abington Heights a 13-6 winner over Valley View.Berwick improves to 10-1 and has won 18 out of last 19 games.

  4. Just trying to make a point not write a book really dont think about it much. as for the ranking their opinions it hard to rank high school all over the country you never know what the teams are like that they play so I with jimbo I dont put much stock in them.Do you watch thouse games on E.S.P.N these ranked High School teams seen some really good team and some really bad and their ranked

  5. @ mark d

Why you skip word when write? Why do use 4 question marks when ask question???? Why not capitalizes “I” when speak first person? Sorry, i had just get off chest!!!!

The national rankings definitely are not worthless. They’re pretty well on. Sure, sometimes teams are overrated or underrated. They refine it as they go. It’s been a while since a PA team has cracked the final top 10 in the USA Today. Think 2003 was the last time.

  6. @Jimbo i agree, it just struck we the way he said it can they hang with them like if they had no chance could they just stay in the game.so used that to make a point very very good football team at N.A

  7. @Jim if Valley View doesn’t turn the ball over i think the game will come down to Valley View return kicking game vrs Abington kicker,Abington can control not kicking to Valley View return men and that kid empress me 43 yard field goal last time i saw him. you know these programs don’t like each other it be a hard hitting game!!! see you their

  8. Ok let’s make some predictions . In District 1 although I am pulling for Pennridge, realistic choice is Pennsbury. I am no fan of their coach but they are built for the Cold. I personally believe a staff like LaSalle or North Allegheny coaching Pennsbury would achieve State title appearances every other year. They have that much size, speed and toughness year after year.
PCL — going to be a war. Tough to beat LS twice in 1 year. Bret Gordon is the smartest Offensive coach around– he will have a winning game plan. Prep O lives on short fields. Their QB is a Good runner but not a good passer.LS 17-14.
LS- Easton rematch in a few weeks…hope all the kids have good health during the playoffs

  9. Look out in D1 AAAA, Garnet Valley has been playing better last few weeks. They look like they could go on a roll.

    Del Val 28 whitehall 26

  11. @Craig
You asked if N.Allegheny could hang with Prep & La Salle. Fox sports has them ranked no 9 in the Nation!!!! I think they can hang

  12. let hear your predictions

    AAAA
    Scranton 42 E.S.S 14

    Old Forge 42 Riverside 21
    Dunmore 35 Lackawanna Trail 14

  13. I’m just gonna say this: Expect a much, much closer game between Berwick and Dallas on Friday….Gonna Say Dallas wins 21-14. Not that Berwick is palying bad football, I just think Dallas is a machine right now.

  14. For what it worth here’s some numbers, the WVC in divison 1 went 6-13 in non conference games the LFC went 12-2.WVW the only team to win all it WVC games went 0-3 in non confrence games and lost by and avg score of 36-14.this was based on non conference games only, games like Pittston and W.A or Lakeland Valley View were not counted as they were division crossover and not non conference.

  15. Abington is not playing with a freshman tailback. Was at game Saturday, starter is Ryan Judge, #28. He took over for Quinn Karam, who suffered an injury earlier in season. As for losing to Scranton, I wouldn’t put much stock in that game, Scranton is a very good AAAA team. Also, Show and quarterback have played defense all year, are two of their best players. As for VV and Berwick history, they’ve played 7 times. VV has won 3 times, 14-3 in 1984, when Berwick was ranked #1 in the nation, 24-21 in 1999, and 35-21 in 2010, the only time game was played at VV. Two of the games Berwick won were blowouts, other two were close.
