  1. @Ron Abington is using Ryan Judge at RB. He is a senior. And Show and Pasqualichio have both played defense all season. Coughlin is totally one dimensional. Dallas will present a much tougher challenge with their offense. Roccogrande can run but they also have a very mobile QB in Zapoticky. He killed Lake-Lehman with his feet and scrambling on Saturday. Siminovitch is a tough matchup for any HS secondary due to his size, speed and athletic ability. Berwick may win but it won’t be anywhere near the first game. As for the VV-Abington game I think they will put up a lot more than 3 total TD’s. Too much offense in the game. I think both games could go either way and see both games within 7 points. I am a VV guy but I really respect what Abington has done up front all season. Their offensive and defensive lines have been impressive all season. One thing to remember is that VV and Dallas have playoff experience and that can be a factor too. VV needs their defensive front and LB’s to play well against the run and pressure Pasqualichio. Show will be hard to cover if the QB has time.

  2. @Ron Dallas basically played the same teams as Berwick,as for that run defence after WVW thouse teams have a combine record of 18-42!!!! You keep talking about a good Coughlin team, same one that just got by Western Wayne a divison 2 LFC team with 3 wins ???? like i said before i havent seen Dallas play and i am leaning toward Berwick to win that game, but to say the best run defence in D2 AAA that a bold bold statement.

  3. @Ron

It’s not who they have played, it’s how they have played. Dallas has also beat Coughlin and held Evans in check. They just held the kid from Lehman to negative yardage on 10-14 carries. I’m just saying I think it will be a much different game this time around. Berwick got them early and I expect Dallas will return the favor this time.

  4. Anyone have any info on Muhlenberg? Coughlin has them this week in the EC. They a paasing team? Running team? Any info?

  5. @KMAC:

I thought Coatesville was the higher seed.
    Therefore, you are correct.

As a matter of fact, I think coatesville makes the D1 final.

  6. @ Mark, Who has Dallas played the last 7 weeks that has changed your mind? Berwick played a good Coughlin team who featured the wvc top rusher in Zac Evans and held him to 27 total rushing yards. Since the Valley West game Berwick has really tighten up their run defense, nobody in d2 aaa has a better defense against the run. i see Berwick winning 35-7. As far as AH-Valley View game, AH playing with freshman tb and using Show and their qb on defense i pick Valley View to win 14-10.

  7. Prep wins a close one over Lasalle. Until a team show they can run the ball on prep nobody will beat them. Prep only gave up two rushing TD’s all season and one was the first game of season.

  8. @ Ron i would love for Valley View to play at Crispin Field becuse it would mean we beat Abington lol lol so i with you their !!!!!!It the playoff with few exceptions the team that are their are very good teams so it a turnover or a big play or two that usally decides these game

  9. @Mark

Valley View’s problem hasn’t been on offense at all this season and this is despite losing a great tailback in Phillips. The Cougars have never quite recovered from losing 8 starters on defense from 2011. And you can add McAndrew and Sebastianelli to that list now also. The defense has improved over the last few weeks with some adjustments. Valley View can beat Abington if they 1) Do not turn the ball over and 2) Find a way to contain JC Show which may be accomplished with QB pressure as opposed to great coverage. I see this as a very even game. Abington has an edge with home field and their kicker. The kicker might just be the difference. I see a very close game. The first meeting was 14-14 with Valley View driving. A turnover and a bomb 40+yd FG made it 17-14 and Valley View turned it over a few times in the second half and their defense was on the field the entire half and got tired. Abington was the better team that day but they have some injury issues now also.

  10. In District 2 AAA I believe both Berwick and Abington are ripe for an upset. Valley View and Dallas both had to overcome a form of adversity earlier in the season. Dallas was learning how to play for a new head coach, and Valley View had to learn how to play without their star player (Phillips). I think both teams are playing much better at this point and have hit their collective stride. Additionally, I have a ton of resepct for the coaching staffs at both Abington and Berwick but these are high school kids and I believe both teams will come into Saturday a bit overconfident. With Berwick blowing out Dallas earlier and Abington doing the same to Valley View, it is only natural for them to feel that way. I would not be surprised at all to see a rematch of last years District Championship game.

  11. @Mark
if Valley View has a problem it on the defence side of the ball,Valley View has a very good offence of line and a good pack of running backs.
would have like to see what they could have done with Phillps if he didnt get hurt.Passing game is poor and the defence breaks down and give up big plays!Special teams are strong.if they can stay away from turnover they can hang with most teams I think they will give Abington a better game than the frist time, but dont under estimate Abington from that Scranton score they are a very good team.

  12. @ mark d in 1977, berwick defeated valley view 17-12 for ec title at cripin field. all time series berwick leads 5-3. i wouldnt mind seeing valley view play at crispin field again. i saw valley view defeat dallas last year for d2 title. both berwick and valley view have great fan support.

  13. Dallas over Berwick 21-7. I just think Dallas has played with an edge over the past 7 weeks. They were picked by many to win the District Championship this year, or be in the final. It’s taken time to get used to the new coaches but the players have responded very well over the past 7 weeks.
Abington Heights 28-14 over Valley View. I just don’t think Valley View has enough offense. I could be wrong, but what a great time of the year for High School Football.

  14. @RON

It’s not the 80’s & 90’s anymore! No one fears Berwick anymore. Just because Curry is back doesn’t make anyone fear them. Berwick played a very weak schedule. Selingsgrove is terrible and that was a 10 point win. Pittston isn’t a good team and that took a TD in the final 1:20 to win by 2. Abington has played as the best AAA team so far this year.

  15. In D1 all the higher seeds win their respective first round EXCEPT Neshaminy beats PW.

LaSalle beats Prep in a squeaker ( unfortunately)

When will they post the teams in D11 ?

  16. @Fred

St Joe is not going to roll over La Salle no matter what. Not with Steinmetz’s defense. They could win the game but they’re not going to roll them over. Should be a good one. And yes I think La Salle can definitely win the game!!

  17. @Ron Crispin field is the tough place to play, but check you history becuse Vally View has won their twice in playoff games.pluse both Abington and Valley View travel well if Valley View can get past Abington, they show up at Crispin field with about 5000 of their own fans !!!!Play off time what could be more fun, lets hear the picks out their !!!!would love to know who the big favorites in d 11 and d4

  18. @Jim from what i understand Abington is beat up at running back and had a freshman tail back and 2 team fullback, but injury is something every team has to deal with.Scranton offence just has to many weapons, lots of people under estimate their over all team speed, they have thouse big plugs on the defence of line and their linebackers are very active good size and speed with their defence of backs they are a complete team

  19. @fred, of course LaSalle can win; it’s not a matter of not having their shit together. If you had any understanding of the injury situation they face, you’d phrase it differently.

  20. I think the people that post on this site have short memories. In week 3 Berwick defeated Dallas 50-14. Berwick had subs in the 3rd quarter.Dallas had a 50 yard rushing td and a 70 yard passing td, and that was it. Berwick ran through dallas and had recievers open all the time.Berwick will not score 50 points this game because Coach Curry will pull his starters early saving them for d2 final. If AH wins over Valley View they will find out its a lot harder winning at Crispin field than their pit. Berwick has the best fan base in d2.
