  1. markd, something not right with AH, very uncharacteristic of them. 0 points scored at home on grass? Not even going to talk about the D

  2. That’s it, I’m going out on a limb to pick the D1 champ. Drum roll please………….Pennridge, baby. That’s my pick and I’m sticking with it.

  3. Mack

I agree the WVC isn’t all that good this year and while I thought Dallas was bad earlier in the year they have REALLY turned things around. I actually think they will beat Berwick too and I honestly think they have a shot at beating AH/VV for the title. If AH had a healthy backfield they would be my pick but with a freshman TB you have to second guess their chances.

  4. Downingtown East and Ridley aren’t the only teams from D1 that could do some damage in AAAA this year. Coatesville, for example… Their only two losses came to very good teams, one being Downingtown East by one point in the final seconds of the game. Since then, they have steamrolled everyone. A second round rematch at Downingtown East seems likely, and I think the winner of that game wins D1.

  5. @James those matchups all look correct except Downingtown West & Wissahickon should be switched. The both finished 7-3 with 890 total points, but the tie-break goes to D-West because:

1 – Head to head (Did not play each other)

2- W/L record against common opponents (only common opponent was Cheltenham, who beat Wissahickon but lost to D-West)

  6. i am a La Salle fan, but if they dont get their **** together prep is going to roll right over them. Anyone think La Salle can win?

  7. The winner of Valley View at Abington Heights will win the District 2 AAA Title. The WVC is very weak this year. I think Dallas could even upset Berwick. Dallas isn’t the same team they were 9 weeks ago. Abington is the 2 seed but the favorite in my eyes.

  8. @Jim not going to busy you chops becuse i know how good Abington is that a very solid football team ,but now you have seen what i seen with Scranton they really have it togerther this year.Well ses yoU next Saturday GO COUGARS

  9. @ PCL fan

The LaSalle/SJP winner has a definite chance to win the whole thing but I tell you, think N. Allegheny is really strong. They’re rolling. Seems like they beat everybody by 45-3 or so. Gateway is strong too. Think the WPIAL champ at AAAA should be the favorite.

  10. Will the LaSalle- St Joe Prep Game determine the State Champion?
Can either one of these teams beat most other teams in the State?
    Are the western teams under-rated?
Will D-town East or Ridley emerge as the eastern state champs?

  11. ACC is the top team in district 11 AAA this year. But nowhere near the talent of the last couple of years. But one guy they do have is Colin McDermott who has had a tremendous year. Last night against Becahi he set the LVC single game rushing record with 422 yards rushing. The line has done a great job for him this year. 2114 yards so far with 26 touchdowns. Should have no problem winning districts this year. But no further. Still with what we lost from last year 5-5 is a great accomplishment.

  12. WHEN ARE THE RANKINGS GOING TO BE POSTED AND ALSO THE PLAYOFF BRKS .. WAITING TO SEE WHERE EVERYBODY FALLS IN . THANKS

  13. Unofficial D1 (From Joe Kane)

    # 16 Downingtown West @ # 1 Downingtown East

    # 9 Coatesville @ # 8 Unionville

    # 13 Neshaminy @ # 4 Plymouth-Whitemarsh

    # 12 Haverford Township @ # 5 Central Bucks South

    # 15 Wissahickon @ # 2 Ridley

    # 10 Garnet Valley @ # 7 Spring-Ford

    # 14 Abington @ # 3 Pennridge

    # 11 West Chester Rustin @ # 6 Pennsbury

  14. 100% agreed with Rollie. Crestwood might be 7-3 but couldn’t even be competitive with any good team they played this year. Giving up 262 yards to a running back is laughable. I’m relieved Valley View will get in over these guys because they have earned it. Dallas should have no problems with Lehman. Lehman has a nice run D but very suspect in the pass game. And what does Dallas like to do? Pass the ball. they have 3 nice targets and their Qb is very good. 35-8 dallas is my prediction. Lehman has a verrrry bright future though, as does Crestwood.

  15. Crestwood…exposed…3rd team with a winning record on their schedule=3rd loss. Coughlin wins 42-20. Evans goes for 265 & 5 TD’s. If Dallas beats Lake-Lehman, Dallas goes to districts and Crestwood to the EC. Dallas has beaten Lake-Lehman 10 of the last 11 years and 41 out of 57 times over the series. Crestwood’s odds are not encouraging. Of course, no matter which of them makes districts the D2 AAA champ will likely be Berwick or Abington Heights anyway.

  16. How about West Chester Henderson (D1 AAA) taking undefeated Downingtown East (D1 AAAA, #3 in the state) to the brink before losing 6-3. Henderson will make some noise in the D1 AAA playoffs. Pottsgrove and Academy Park better watch their backs!

  17. According to Rick O’Brien:

The Catholic League Class AAAA final will be played next Saturday, 1 p.m at William Tennent High.

The Catholic League Class AAA final will be played next Saturday, 7 p.m. at Plymouth Whitemarsh High.

  18. the pit as real a HS stadium as it gets and is the best place to watch a game in D2. Been to West point, Annapolis and Air Force academy stadiums. All equally as fun to root on our future hero’s

  19. Jim you probably right and if it was fri. night in a real stadium i probably go.Lucky me will be at West Point Saturday afternoon watching the Army Black Knights take on the Air Force Falcons,if you never been their trust me it the best venue to tail gate and watch a collage football game any where !!!!!
