  1. Thanks Jim i didnt know with the new format their was no wild card for d2,you are correct WVW can not get in the d/2/4/11 playoff.I will stand by my statement even playing in that roller skateing ring i still think Scranton will win by 14.

  2. markd, Scranton is playing a hot AH playing in the pit on wet grass. That favors AH. WVW is out, only 2 D2 teams in sub regional locked up by scranton/DV. Scranton and DV on same side of bracket. Easton and PArkland on same side of bracket if teams who should win win.

  3. @ Ron the only thing i saying is i only seen Berwick play once and that was wyoming valley west in my opinion they got their buts kicked.looking at the WVC this year would you agree it a down year?i going on that the teams in the LFC looks like a stronger conference this year .Iwill agree that Crispin is a very very hard place to play and that is a big advantage for Berwick. What i like to know have you seen Abington or Valley View play this year ???? Beside Berwick i seen coughlin and crestwood play and they in my opinion would not have won 5 games in the LFC this year

  4. @Mark d. just because Valley View and Abington Heights play Del Valley and Scranton in the lfc makes them so much better than Berwick. What a joke! I have seen Berwick play all season long, they are the real deal, offense and defense. Week 11 Valley View will be at Crispin Field, they will find how good Berwick is. Then week 12 Abington Heights comes to Berwick. Having the home field advantage is a very big plus,if you havent seen Crispin Field,Berwick fans can be very noisy. its going to take a super effort from AH to win d2 because the Berwick players and fans want to win the title so badly this year.

  5. @ Jim i would be very suprised if Scranton didnt beat Abington by 14 points.if you look at the D 11 rankings on this site as of now Scranton is the one seed and wyoming valley west is the eight Del valley no 3 and Parkland 6 if you look at who all are playing i dont see how their would be much change in thouse seeding unless their would be big up sets

  6. MarkD, if Scranton, Easton, Del Vel, Stroudsburg, Parkland, North, & White Hall win. I think Scranton gets North and Del Val gets Whitehall. If scranton/Del Val win, Del val goes to Scranton week 12. Parkland and Eaton will be in the other bracket. BTW Scranton is very beatable and Abington Heights just might do it. Del Val had their shot and blew it. A Def Coach needs to bump/harass quiller, then shadow him. Also a coord. blitzing of Waiters disrupts the quick strike.

  7. it going to take a very good team playing at the top of their game to beat Scranton. The way the bracket look like it going to fall in the 2/4/11 AAAA playoff Del Valley will be getting a rematch with Parkland in the opening round,Whitehall looks lot a hot team heading in to the playoffs.as for AAA Abington is the top team right now,as for Berwick i not sure that they could beat Valley View, never mind Abington

  8. Wonder if Scranton or Del Valley can take out the D11 champ this year. Maybe this is the year. And likewise for Berwick.

  9. I agree with Jim B. Abington Heights plays much tougher competition just by virtue of the fact they play in the Lackawanna League which is superior to the WVC down in Luzerne County. Scranton and Del Val are tougher than anyone Berwick plays. Berwick and AH both beat their common opponents…Pittston and Dallas.

I’m not predicting a winner, but if they are opposite ends of the brackets they should play each other in the District title game.

It amazes me that people want to hand the title to Berwick just because Curry is the coach. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a great coach. But he’s been away. Now he’s back with a team he inherited. Curry should be thanking Coach Campbell for not leaving the cupboard bare.

  10. @ bert you were right Dallas can catch Valley View it going to be close.Right now Valley View is 40 points ahead of Dallas, but Dallas will get 140 points for beating Lake Lehman,Valley View 100 for North Pocono so they be tied.Coughlin @ Crestwood and West Scranton @ Prep so both teams can only get 10 pionts out of thouse games.Dallas need wins by Hazelton,Pittston,Willimsport & Tunk Valley View by Lakeland ,Wallenpaupack,Honesdale and East Strod North. The only win i see on paper for Dallas would be Tunk @ Carbondale, for Valley View i think Lakeland is a good bet. After that it all up in the air, unless Coughlin beat Crestwood them never mind , boy you got to love High School Football

  11. @Bert

The criteria for tiebreakers is on the D-1 website, but to save you the trip, here it is….

    1 – Head to head
2- W/L record against common opponents.
3- W/L record for the season
4- Win Pct vs. Common Opponents
5- Win Pct of regular season
    6- Fewest points allowed head-to-head
7- Fewest points allowed vs. Common Opponents
8- Fewest points allowed during regular season
    9- Flip a coin

The #4 and 5 criteria mean nothing, because they would be decided in 2 or 3. In the past few years, we’ve had a few tiebreakers go to #7.

  12. Question for anyone who can answer? In determining a District playoff berth, what happens when 2 teams end up tied in points, no head-to-head, from different conferences?

  13. @
Bert & Jim hate to agree with him but the Valley View kids do get the mouth going,Another sign of the coaching they have.West has always been that way,but i still think the champ trash talkers in D2 Riverside. As for the points both teams still have to win 2 games before points matter.

  14. bert, I want to make sure I distinguish trash talking vs being dirty. It happens, some teams more, some teams less.

  15. Mark,
I do like Coughlin when they play Crestwood, but they are inconsistent, game could go either way. VV better hope Crusaders win, because even though Mark D is right about Lehman having 5 or 6 wins, if it comes down to Dallas and VV, Dallas still can outpoint them. As for Jim saying VV and West are worst trash talkers in D2, are you on the field to hear this, or is this heresay?

  16. Mark D, VV worst trash talkers in D2 followed by West. Makes for some interesting conversations this week on the field !

  17. @Mark
I have watched Valley View all year and yes West Scranton has a chance to win that game.It all depends which Valley View team shows up,the one that rushed for 200 yards and 3 td against Del Valley in the first half or the one that turned the ball over 5 times in the second half and got beat all over the field West is very phycial but not sure they can handle Valley View speed should be a good game.

  18. @Saus I was more referring to the fact that we don’t really blink at QB’s in the Lehigh Valley unless they are guys like Nosovitch, Persa, Gonzo, Smith, Lenahan, Harding etc who were state players of the year, had unreal numbers, and went to FBS schools. Shaf is not going to have off the chart numbers, most likely will not be all state, and is going to an FCS school. So he doesn’t get the attention he deserves in my opinion.

  19. @Bert Thanks. Who do you like between Coughlin & Crestwood? Also, does West Scranton have a chance against VV. VV didn’t look to great on offense. What are your thoughts?
