  1. How about if Coughlin beats Bewrick and Crestwood. Then we will be looking at four 7-3 teams for two spots. It’s a BIG if tho.

  2. P.S @
Bert Lake Lehman only has 5 wins and 6 is the most thay can have so that only 140 is the most that win could have

  3. @Bert
Valley View is all ready 20 points a head with the same record and yes they will get 150 points if they beat Lake Lehman but Valley view will get 140 for beating West Scranton.Coughlin has to play Berwick which will probaly be a loss and some one has to loose the Crestwood Coughlin game so at the most their only 20 point from thouse wins. Now you counting on Pittston area Tunk williamsport Hazelton who have 6 total wins.
i take my chance with Lakeland, E.S North, Prep,Honesdale and Wallempapack with 22 wins

  4. Mark,
Valley View is not in yet, even if they win their last 2 games. If Dallas wins out, it will come down to points accumulated by teams they have beaten winning upcoming games. Yes Dallas plays Lake Lehman, but they have 7 wins already, so Dallas picks up 150 points with that win. Valley View has to hope for wins in the last 2 weeks from Lakeland, East Stroudsburg North, and Honesdale, all of whom have tough games ahead. If Coughlin beats Crestwood, it’ll be a moot point, Dallas and Valley View will get the 3rd ands 4th seeds.

  5. @Jack-why do you think Nick Shafnisky will NOT get the recognition he deserves simply due to playing in the Lehigh Valley??? Actually its quite the opposite, if he were playing in D2, D4, D5, D6, D8, D9 then I can understand that statement but there are a TON of talented players who are always recognized in the Lehigh Valley. Many colleges coaches intentionally stop in the Valley due to the high number of potential college level players. Matt Millen and Dan Koplan took it to the next level and I wouldn’t be surprised if many college coaches look specifically at Whitehall just to see who they have on the field.

  6. Annouced today in the Scranton Times,Frank Pazzaglia will retire after the season.Fourth all time with 344 wins in the state of P.A.He is a coach who will be missed

  7. I don’t think Dallas can outpoint Valley View either. Dallas’ only shot is if they win out AND if Coughlin beats Crestwood. Crestwood gets 120 pts for beating Williamsport (AAAA)…with no additional power pts because Williamsport is winless. Dallas gets 100 pts for beating Tunkhannock and power pts for Tunk’s 2 wins. They would get 80 pts for beating Lehman…and power pts for each of Lehman’s 5 (or 6) wins. Yes, it will be that close. Plus all the wins of each team’s opponents count for power points. So we really won’t know until the dust settles on the regular season. The lack of quality opponents definitely is a vulnerability for Crestwood. Dallas gets lots of Bonus pts for beating Coughlin, Crestwood and presumably Lehman. (Points formula – http://www.piaad6.org/piaafb.htm)

  8. @phillyboy, I do agree with your PPL comments but all Imhotep can do is play the schedule they’ve been given. I think we agree you can’t compare a PPL schedule to a PCL schedule; it’s night and day.

  9. @phillyboy, there are certain teams who can hold their own playing “up”; West Catholic has always been one of those teams. Do they always win playing AAA and AAAA teams? No, but they are always competitive.

I believe this year’s Imhotep team is one who can be competitive on higher levels. They’ve got speed on both sides of the ball and size up front; they may also have the best running back tandem in PA. Young is very underappreciated; game breaking speed.

@Kmac, Frankford – Imhotep will be interesting; Frankford doesn’t seem to be playing as well since DiGiorgio began playing hurt; don’t be shocked if Imhotep gets the W. If it all plays out as expected, both these teams will eventually need to step up and beat a PCL team to move forward. Frankford will be challenged to accomplish that much more than Imhotep will be.

  10. Looks like if they win out Valley View can do no worse than the 4 seed.Dallas has a aa team left to play so i don’t think they can out point Valley View.If Coughlin beats Crestwood it looks like on points that Dallas may get in.But i sure that many other games will determine the final points if all end up 7-3

  11. Rob,
Yes, Dallas has now EARNED a place in the playoff conversation because they are now 5-3 and beat some decent teams. But, I will say it again, it was a little premature to include them in that conversation when they were sitting at 2-3, having wins against Williamsport and Piitston.

  12. Jim B, do you now think Dallas should be in the playoff conversation? They are going to finish 7-3 so I would assume yes? Also, where is that western wayne fan… Anyone know?

  13. @phillyboy,
Imhotep is the best cause jimbo said so. You have some real serious issues if you disagree with jimbo! I would really like to know who the four state champions will be this year, jimbo?

  14. i didnt know valley view only had 3 losses, so i will change my d2 aaa predictions
    1 Berwick
    2 Abington Heights
    3.Valley View
    4.Dallas

    Berwick defeats Dallas 21-7 Ab Hts defeats vv 28-7. Ah will play at Berwick for title (tossup}

  15. In D2 AAA Berwick and Abington will be the top two seeds. Then it will come down to Crestwood, Dallas, and Valley View. It looks like both Valley View and Dallas will go 7-3. If Crestwood loses to Coughlin, they are out. But, if Crestwood does beat Coughlin, it will come down to points among VV, Crestwood, and Dallas. All of which would be 7-3.

My guess is Coughlin beats Crestwood, and Coughlin, Crestwood, and Scranton Prep all go Eastern Confernce. While districts will be Berwick, Abington, Valley View, and Dallas.

  16. Here is my d2 aaa playoff predictions :
    1. Berwick ( will defeat coughlin and hazleton)
    2. Abing Hts ( will lose to scranton)
    3. Dallas ( will defeat Tunk and Lake Lehman)
    4. Crestwood ( will lose to coughlin)
First round Crestwood @ Berwick Dallas @ Ab Hts

  17. @Jimbo & Phillyboy
It would seem your argument will get tested this friday with Frankford (AAAA) and Imhotep (AA); wouldn’t it? Providing schedule is correct.

  19. @rollie Ciffo I agree Crestwood was totally outplayed. I think Coughlin will run up and down the field on them. As for Dallas, they will make the playoffs if Coughlin can beat them. At this point in time, the teams that are playing the best at this time of year should be in the playoffs. Maybe that will hold true for Dallas.

  20. @ Jimbo

First of all, I would like to see Imhotep become the first public league state champs. After all, I am a boy from philly. And their margins of victory are impressive. But they’ve beaten teams in the public league that I’ve barely ever heard of. Yeah, Strath Haven is a strong program but they’re only 4-4 on the year, apparently having an off year. But regardless, think you’re underestimating the difference in the level of play at AAA and AAAA. It’s like a wrestler or boxer moving up a weight class or a chess player playing in a higher rated tournament. I hope Imhotep is as good as they seem. We’ll see.

  21. Nick Shafinisky great QB who will never get the recognition he deserves because he plays in the valley. Of course the kid is not in same stratoshere as Persa, Gonzalez, or Nosovitch but the kid deserves some love.

  22. @jiveturkey, you’re the one who comes on here with your condescending attitude toward every other poster. Your act as if you know all has worn thin. Actually, as with your upset prediction, your knowledge level is there for all to see. Nobody needs me to point it out to them.
