  1. Big game of the week Pennridge vs North Penn. Again home field advantage will have a major impact and Pennridge is the underdog according to Cooney & Co. at the Intel. Good to be the underdog. If Pennridge plays like they did against CB South they have a shot. Should be a great hard hitting game.

  2. Del Val HS is actually located in Matamoris, PA, which is a few miles East of Milfrod. The school was formed in the late 50’s with the merger of Milford HS and Matamoris HS. They have only had a football program for the past 20 years.

  3. Some good games this weekend. Who do you like between Prep and Valley View. Also, Wyoming Area and GAR, and Dallas VS Crestwood.

  4. @Dave
i like Scranton 42-38 in a shoot out i think their just to many skilled players on both teams for the defence to control the game and as any big game turnovers will be the key.

  5. Delaware Valley HS is in Milford PA and serves Pike County. Its right off I-84 in eastern PA just across the NY state border.

  6. Delaware Valley is an hour and a half north of Allentown area or an hour north of East Stroudsburg S. Near Port Jervis NY

  7. DV and Scranton both played 7 games and 5 common opponents. 2 uncommon games are DV playing Parkland/Abington Hts and Scranton playing Pittston/Scranton Prep.

    QB rating:
    Quiller SCR 207
    Schor DV 222

    Offense: Run Pass Total Yards
    Scr 1591 1064 2655
    DV 1381 1666 3047

    Defense:
    Scr 1002 662 1664
    DV 1503 714 2217

    Backs avg yards per carry:
    McCarthy Scr 8.5
    Santiago Dv 7.2

    Receivers avg yards:
    Quillers Scr 24
    Decker DV 21
    Markowitz DV 18

    Kicker points:
    Fernandez Scr 20
    Paulison DV 35

On paper looks like a toss up. Some things to consider. When did starting O and D leave a game in big wins? Injuries? Differences in caliber of the teams in the uncommon games? Rivalry game outcomes tending to be closer than regular season games? Does home field advantage help? Is weather a factor? I’d hate to have to bet the farm on a winner. Good luck to both.

  8. @Bob, are you Jordan Andrews father? Nobody on Malvern looked like a player against LaSalle; Malvern was pathetic on both sides of the ball.

  9. @Ron
ok didnt know that A.H got banged up in that game and you right Berwick should end up with the top seed A.H wount beat Scranton.
I didnt make the post about Scranton o line struggling with Del Valley tackels. i saw them give up 347 yards rushing to Valley View and made the comment that Scranton has a better running game. i think the game is going to be a high scoreing shoot out !!!!

  10. Personally I thought the Prep & LS game lived up to the hype. Both teams played good defense. Good defenses play to make turnovers. Offensively both teams struggled. Prep made the big plays when it counted most. I was the first to talk about this Jones kid on the Prep team. Can’t wait until they do it all over again in about a month. Get your Popcorn ready!

  11. Player to watch: Jordan Andrews – Defensive Tackle – Malvern Prep.. looks like hes around 6’1/6’2 and about 250.. very quick off the ball and strong has 11 sacks this season & has had 4 sacks in a game twice against coatsvill & upper darby with the rest of the sacks coming against GA, LaSalle & Carroll from DC.. very underrated player in my eyes should be first team all area……. keep an eye out for him

  12. Rollie if you go to dv scr game get there early, they dont have a separate visitors stands. I am sure it will be packed

  13. @Mark AH finished the Prep game with 3rd string tailback, they are banged up. have w.scranton friday and scranton week 10. Berwick will beat pittston, coughlin, and hazleton to get that #1 seed. Dont let that valley west game fool you, score was 22-15 in 3rd quarter and Berwick driving for tying td,however a fumble was costly. One place you dont want to go for a playoff game is crispin field, players and fans want d2 title back this year.

  14. Scrantons O line will struggle with Del Vals D Tackles and even double teaming them wont help.. Saw the game, not concerned, good film to make some adjustments.

  15. Lots of talent will be on display in that Scranton/DV game. Starting with Del Val’s QB, who has already committed to Miami of Ohio.

  16. Noticed there’s going to be a monster game this weekend. Scranton and Del. Valley are going toe to toe, a battle of unbeatens.

    @ Ron

I hope you’re right about Berwick. I’ll be rooting for them if they meet Wood in playoffs.

  17. Ron,

You may be right. But keep in mind, Wood’s 2 losses this year are to St Joe’s and North Penn… two highly regarded AAAA teams. Berwick’s competition is nowhere near that. I know math’s transitive laws do not equate to football but I’m pretty sure both St Joe’s & NP would handily beat WVW…who dismantled Berwick.

That said, would love to see a resurgent Berwick Bulldogs.
