  1. Mark D, AH will get crushed by Scranton and Prep will get crushed by Delaware Valley, sorry, no upset there unless major injuries…

  2. Its very possible Dallas runs the table from here. Dallas’ remaining remaining schedule is the easiest of them, Coughlin and Crestwood.

    10/12 @Hazleton – Highly likely W
    10/19 @Crestwood – Toss Up
    10/26 @Tunkhannock – Highly likely W
    11/03 Lake-Lehman – Likely W

  3. Explorer, please let your LS grad child post for you. Can you say punctuation? How about run on sentence? Take a breathe there buddy. Keep running all over with them sentences and you’ll get a hole in the bottom of your hush puppies.

  4. Hey Guys, Here is some input from a LS grad & parent who knows a few of the coaches very well. I played with some of them as well. Paul from Philly, Just sit back and enjoy a well executed game plan by high school players who bought in to a system a few years ago. It is a system that works with 3 or 4 star players yet can thrive with a bunch of 2 star players. I am not here to bash you as I know your son very well–who was a very nice HS player. I would caution you against divisive language regarding any player or coach involved in the program. These guys are all about the W’s and these coaches have no egos. You seem to be rough on the OC & QB from the last year but if you knew the coaches (including both Bret & Drew Gordon) you would come to know the high regard they have for that OC and the contributions he added to that program over the years. The ’11 Team went as far as it could with the injuries sustained. It also wasn’t QB fault that Coleman & Tom S were hurt, these things happen. If you ask Kane who was the better QB coming out of camp last year, I think he would’ve voted for Magarity too. I know for a fact (he told me) coach Gordon said that Magarity looked as good as any QB had coming out of camp. The fact that Matt threw for 26 TD’s plus rushed for over 500 yds in one season is a feat NO ONE has accomplished in the history of LS football bears that out. These are kids and don’t let an Eastern Final loss diminish the accomplishments of a super kid and a bunch of Seniors that were not given much chance to win by those outside & some nside the program. I think LS does things the right way with kids who come to the school to be students first and I don’t want that clouded with any bs on the internet.

  5. Mark
Can we just agree that a lot needs to happen for Dallas to get in the playoffs? They need to win all their remaining games, which won’t be easy, and have a few other teams ahead of them lose.

  6. @Philly Public

He is NOT a typical LaSalle parent..please

    @Paul

Sorry I didn’t give the proper person credit, but you are one of the reasons why the LS parents are looked upon like this. The Prep coaches were in the stands. I even watched them on Saturday when they were filming the Judge game and they just shook their heads every time LS scored. My son has been on all those team too except the Championship team when he was a freshman. Drew knows who I am so maybe he chooses not to know you for a good reason. And you don’t pay tuition anymore…..You’re the one who said Joe Wade was calling the plays against North Allegheny….yes I pay attention to what is written on these boards but have never felt compelled to write anything because all that matters is what happens on the field and not what people say or think on this board but after reading comment after comment that you write I couldn’t take it anymore. The LS parents I hang with couldn’t be nicer and we all want to see our kids do well, but never does anyone I know say anything derogatory about any other school, kid, coach, etc. It’s a shame you plaster all your stuff all over the place and we have to be associated with it.

  7. If Dallas wins out they will move ahead of both Coughlin & Crestwood on points. Dallas would have to win all of their remaining games and Crestwood would need to lose to Coughlin.

Due to Crestwood’s weak schedule the teams they beat will not provide enough points to beat out Dallas or Coughlin.

If Coughlin beats Crestwood they will also move ahead of Crestwood, however they will not be able to catch Dallas due to the head to head loss.

  8. Typical LaSalle. “My boy did this”, “my daughter did that”, “My son played both ways,” I also have a daughter at THE Mount” (can you sound any more pretentious) “I have two daughters at the Mount”, “I have an iPhone.” You both want be the big swingin d, and you do it on a public board? Meanwhile you’ll be standing next to each other at the game on Saturday in little Junior’s jersey sipping wine with your pinkies out, singing “Boola boola”. Maybe this is why people find LS parents arrogant?

  9. @ Go Explorers

So you were in the booth while Prep was filming the game? Or were they in the stands filming with their I phone? So you’re saying that you and Jerry know the inner workings? By the way it was me who posted the game in November would mean a whole lot more, not Jerry. So give me a little credit.

  10. @ Jerry

I pay the tuition right? So I can have an opinion right? You think Drew Gordon cares a lick about what my opinion is? My son was on 3 PCL, City, and District 12 championship teams, along with the State Championship team starting both ways and Drew Gordon wouldn’t know who I was if you hit him over the head with me.

  11. Jerry, I couldn’t agree with you more. Paul runs his mouth and leaves a bad impression. Not indicative of all the parents I’ve spent the last four years with watching this team and coaching staff. YOUR statements are completely accurate. Here’s a fact for those interested in this week’s game: Prep coaches overheard while filming LaSalle’s game against Malvern “We’ve got our hands full”. I hope it’s a great game on Saturday but as you said then one on Nov 9th will mean a whole lot more.

  12. @ Jerry
One son on the Championship team, another on another State Championship team. With that, where have I posted that I know about their inner workings. I just watch the games and then have an opinion. Just like everyone else on this board. I had a daughter at the Mount too. Want to know about the inner workings of the Crew team? Ask the coach, all I have is an opinion.

  13. Paul from Philly . Notice you on another website and felt compelled to send you a note. As a LS parent of 3 boys and a daughter at the Mount, I know several key members of LS faculty and staff. I’ve been around the football and baseball programs for 10 years. You put out a lot of information as a LS insider when in fact you know very little about the inner workings of their programs. The men who run these teams are very quiet and humble and they work together. They all share in the success of their system. From the mouths of their coaches, ’08 Disgusting ending, ’09 Fulfilled destiny , ’10 exceeded expectations in getting all the way back to finals after graduating 30 seniors ’11 was favorite team by many of staff as team was not picked to win the PCL plus so many new starters on team plus best camaraderie , ’12 Big Team, Fastest defense ever, quickest receiver combo ever, smart QB whom listens well, slight concern over running game as
weather changes. Should improve as health of O Line improves. DB s are best in state as a group.

  14. @Ron – Dallas’ schedule was front loaded with tough teams. I think they run the table if they beat Crestwood ( which would not be an upset, that’s a pick-em game). Coughlin already lost to Dallas and their remaining schedule is much tougher with Crestwood and Berwick. Out of the Berwick, Coughlin, Crestwood and Dallas, the only team I see possibly going anywhere is Berwick and that is mainly because D4/D11 is a bit light this year. I can’t see any of them touching Prep, AH or VV for that matter. Lackawanna seems to be tougher than the WVC. IMO, their A teams probably beat the AAA WVC teams.

  15. @fred, at this point in the season, if anyone has SJP ranked higher than LaSalle you can just dismiss their rankings.

  16. Rob,
A win is a win. Crestood is 5-1, and Dallas is 3-3. Dallas may in fact be the better team, but the better team doesn’t always win, or even make the playoffs. Like I said, there are just too many teams for Dallas to jump over to make districts. But they should make the EC playoffs.

  17. “Dallas has to be considered a long shot (for districts) unless a whole lot falls its way.”

quote from Steve Benneett of the Wilkes-Barre Citizens Voice

  18. @ Jim B
I am not sure about the w.v.c teams but up here Valley View and West Scranton are 5-5 at best 6-4 teams, their match up will probaly decide that.Eiher Abington or Prep will end up at 7-3 they play each other and Abington Still has Scranton and Prep Del Valley which would be huge upsets.Looks like their could be 4
teams at 7-3 for two playoff spots !!!!!

  19. I am unable to attend the Prep vs LaSalle game on Saturday night so does anyone know if it will broadcast on TV or radio?

  20. Although I’m not a LaSalle fan, I must say they are very efficient. A while back someone mentioned that they have success despite not having a plethora of division 1 players or blue chip recruits. I tend to agree with that. I’ve noticed something about them that’s telling. During the pregame warm-ups the receivers run very crisp routes and they rarely drop a ball. That mentality tends to carry over into the game.

  21. After week 6 in d2 AAA. these 4 teams will be in the playoffs Berwick #1,Scranton Prep #2, Abington Heights #3, WB Coughlin #4. Crestwood and Dallas fight it out for ec playoffs.
