  1. I don’t think it is going to be the same year I think the game that’s going to decide who goes to the state championship this year is going to be the catholic league championship between roman and la salle who ever wins that game is going to be the state championshIp

  2. Buddy – North Penn goes 0-3 out of the gate and will also lose to Pennridge and maybe Souderton. Most likely will not even be in playoffs to meet Lasalle again. And Beck on his best day, which I have never seen, will never, ever out coach Drew Gordon. BTW – I am a NP grad.

  3. Seems to be North Penn’s typical start. If the scenerio plays out, they meet again in the playoffs at which time Beck then out-coaches Gordon.

  4. Chris Kane looked like a 3 year starter at quarterback for La Salle. Tough matchup in the first game for the North Penn defensive backs. I expect they will be a much better team mid-year.

  5. I have been to all 5 North Penn – LaSalle games in the past three years. The difference is clearly coaching. Drew Gordon is by far the better coach in this series, Beck is totally clueless. There is no way that LaSalle should have dominated this series the way that they have, the talent levels are very close. The difference is coaching. Agree with snapple, LaSalle by far the superior team, should have won by 4 touchdowns at least.

  6. Great opportunity for St. Joe’s Prep to get their mojo back tonight if they can take out a strong Florida program. A win against Cocoa would portend good things to come.

  7. I’ll be ay LaSalle/North Penn tonite.

Too damn hot for football though. Don’t know how these kids do it.

Next week ( Sat. nite) is North Penn at Archbishop Wood. That could shake up the entire rankings. At least i hope it does.

  8. Waverly (NY) at Athens Week 1- What a Dandy of an opening game. Waverly made it to the NYS Semis last year and are returning a lot. Athens has what possibly could be the best recieving corps in the state as well as many other talented players. This Athens team is as good if not better than their team that won a District 4 Championship a few years back. For any northern PA football fans, this is a must see game.

  9. There are so many good games tonight. As much as I want to commit to one, I don’t want to miss the WNPV 1440 am Bucks County Intelligencer Scoreboard Highlight show. They stream that online after the feature game. Those guys rock. If WIP had any sense they would simulcast that show on 610 am.

  10. I’ll be heading to Graterford to watch Plymouth-Whitemarsh @ Perkiomen Valley. I’m hoping the Vikings can shut down the Colonials in what is, I believe, their first ever meeting on the gridiron.

  11. Colonial League, D 11, Game of the week, So. Lehigh travels to the Dawg pound, No. Lehigh, 7pm, Friday. Game of interest is Wilson @ Catty. Fri. Enjoy the games!!!!

  12. Bloom @ S. Williamsport…. or southern @ pius x. Everyones still undecided …. like last yr. we’ll end up flipping a coin..

  13. Haverford Prep @ Pennridge. Heard Haverford has a huge line, hard to tell who they recruited this year. Could set the tone for Pennridge.

  14. GARNET VALLEY @ UNIONVILLE….7:00 Friday August 29th

ONE OF THE BEST GAMES YOU WILL SEE ALL SEASON.

    DON’T MISS IT.

  15. I’m going to Garnet Valley-Unionville. This game has always been one of the marquee rivalries in the Delco area and will continue it’s tradition of nail-biting games.

  16. A local game for me will be Central Bucks South at Council Rock South to open the season. It would seem both would be in a rebuilding, or reloading, mode. CB South lost fine QB Johns, et al, and CR South lost about 10 starters on both sides of the ball it would seem, and two straight years’ of great triple-option QBs in Haldis and Donnelly. Should be interesting.

  17. LaSalle/North Penn, always big match-up. Can set tone for rest of season.

Watch Easton/Pennsbury. Everyone expects an easy Easton win, but I think they will be shocked.

St Joe’s at Florida, tough game for the prep.

Parkland/ Del Val, another tough game.

Lotsa markee games this weekend for so early in the season.

  18. I will be covering the Southern Columbia vs. Pius X game.

What do you think of these matchups?

    Whitehall vs. Spring-Ford
    LaSalle College vs. North Penn
    Scranton Prep vs. Wyoming Area
    Parkland vs. Delaware Valley
    Delone Catholic vs. Trinity
    Lewisburg vs. Townanda
    Southern Columbia vs. Pius X
    Pennsbury vs. Easton Area
    Wyomissing Area vs. Schuylkill Haven
Saint Joseph’s Prep vs. Cocoa (FL)
    Malvern Prep vs. Roman Catholic
