Coach’s Comment: Zander enters the fall as a returning starting linebacker while also taking over the fullback duties. At 6’3”, he is an absolute physical specimen who can run sideline to sideline on defense. He plays a real physical brand of football on both sides of the ball. On offense, when he got his opportunities last season, he showed what he can do with the ball in his hands. He is a dangerous weapon who will either try and run you over, or just run right by you.
On defense, he plays just the same way. He is always willing to meet you in the hole, but with his exceptional length for his position, he makes the passing game difficult for opponents. On top of all that, he is an All-State long snapper for us, making him a major impact player across all three phases. College coaches really liked what they saw last year; he has already received five Division 1 offers thus far, and we’ll be shocked if he doesn’t get many more, especially after the big season coming up.
