Top Offensive Performers (October 01-03): Kosmalski Breaks Two School Records, Sukanick Rushes for 335 Yards, Sams Accounts for Seven TDs

Records continued to fall across Pennsylvania high school football as Great Valley’s Beau Kosmalski established two school rushing touchdown records, Northwestern Lehigh’s Chase Sukanick nearly broke a single-game rushing record, and Southern Lehigh quarterback Colton Sams accounted for seven touchdowns to highlight this week’s top offensive performances.

Sukanick led the reported rushing performances with 335 yards and five touchdowns, finishing just two yards shy of tying Northwestern Lehigh’s single-game rushing record. Meanwhile, Lewisburg’s Xavier Carter led the passing category with 351 yards, and Nazareth Area’s Luke DePietro topped the receiving list with 213 yards.

Kosmalski Sets Two Great Valley School Records

Great Valley’s Beau Kosmalski continues to put together a record-breaking season.

Kosmalski established a new school single-season rushing touchdown record with 21 touchdowns, surpassing the previous mark with four regular-season games still remaining.

He also set Great Valley’s career rushing touchdown record with 36.

Kosmalski added to those impressive totals with another outstanding performance, rushing for 290 yards and four touchdowns. He finished second among the week’s reported rushing leaders and accounted for five total touchdowns.

With four regular-season games remaining, Kosmalski has an opportunity to continue extending both school records.

Sukanick Rushes for 335 Yards, Ties Touchdown Record

Northwestern Lehigh’s Chase Sukanick delivered one of the week’s biggest offensive performances.

Sukanick rushed for 335 yards, finishing just two yards short of tying Eli Zimmerman’s school record for rushing yards in a single game.

He also scored five rushing touchdowns, tying the Northwestern Lehigh single-game record shared by Joe House, Carson Wentz and Brett Snyder.

Sukanick’s combination of 335 rushing yards and five touchdowns put him atop the reported rushing yardage category and among the leaders in total touchdowns.

Gursky Ties Palmerton School Record with Six TD Passes

Palmerton Area quarterback TK Gursky put his name alongside one of the school’s most accomplished quarterbacks.

Gursky threw six touchdown passes, tying the Palmerton Area single-game school record held by Matt Machalik.

He also passed for 271 yards and accounted for six total touchdowns.

Gursky shared the week’s lead in touchdown passes with Southern Lehigh’s Colton Sams, who also threw six.

Sams Accounts for Seven Touchdowns

Southern Lehigh quarterback Colton Sams continued his impressive season with another big performance.

Sams threw for 253 yards and six touchdowns, tying Gursky for the most reported touchdown passes of the week.

He also accounted for seven total touchdowns, the highest reported total among the week’s offensive performers.

Carter Leads Passing Performances with 351 Yards

Lewisburg’s Xavier Carter led the reported passing totals with 351 yards.

Williamsport’s Zion Hughes followed closely with 340 yards and three touchdowns, while Nazareth Area’s Cooper Madson passed for 339 yards and five touchdowns.

Bloomsburg’s Shane Frey threw for 329 yards and three touchdowns, while Conwell-Egan’s Aubrey Kimbrough finished with 325 yards and four touchdown passes.

Bishop McDevitt’s Sebastian Williams passed for 293 yards and five touchdowns.

Palmerton Area’s Gursky finished with 271 yards, while Holy Redeemer’s Brady McDermott threw for 270 yards and four scores.

Jersey Shore’s Nolen Pauling passed for 265 yards and three touchdowns. Notre Dame-Green Pond’s Tommy Murphy finished with 264 yards and five touchdowns, while Bethlehem Catholic’s Axel Burkhart threw for 262 yards and four scores.

Columbia’s Nick Boyer passed for 255 yards, Lehighton’s Jack LucyKanish threw for 254 yards and five touchdowns, and Southern Lehigh’s Sams finished with 253 yards.

Exeter’s Aidan Gerhart threw for 250 yards and three touchdowns, Susquehanna Township’s Cael Feidt had 242, Garden Spot’s Isaiah Lapp finished with 239 yards and three touchdowns, and Shenandoah Valley’s Ethan Bench added 227 yards.

Six Quarterbacks Throw at Least Five Touchdowns

Sams and Gursky led the passing touchdown category with six apiece.

Nazareth Area’s Madson, Lehighton’s LucyKanish, Bishop McDevitt’s Williams and Notre Dame-Green Pond’s Murphy each threw five touchdown passes.

Conwell-Egan’s Kimbrough, Bethlehem Catholic’s Burkhart, Holy Redeemer’s McDermott, Conestoga Valley’s Camryn Bair and East Pennsboro’s Tavery Good each tossed four.

Exeter’s Gerhart, Montoursville’s Elijah Eck, Kennett’s Garrett McCracken, Owen J. Roberts’ Gavin Schaeffer, Garden Spot’s Lapp, JP McCaskey’s Marlon Valentin, Jersey Shore’s Pauling, Lancaster Catholic’s Rowan DeMarco, Bloomsburg’s Frey, Pope John Paul II’s TJ Dozier and Williamsport’s Hughes each threw three touchdowns.

Cannon, Chiron-Robinson Highlight Big Rushing Performances

Downingtown West’s Amari Cannon rushed for 278 yards and five touchdowns, finishing third among the reported rushing leaders.

Downingtown East’s Juelz Chiron-Robinson rushed for 239 yards and five touchdowns, while Kutztown’s Ryan Walters also finished with 239 yards.

Annville-Cleona’s Yama Navarro rushed for 230 yards.

Upper Dauphin’s Christopher McClain was listed among the leaders with 211 yards, while Spring Grove’s Brody Redding and Strath Haven’s Landon Barlow each rushed for 204 yards.

Hamburg’s Blaise Ernst finished with 201 yards.

Greencastle-Antrim’s Spencer Long rushed for 191 yards, Mahanoy Area’s Will Stoyer had 185, Northampton’s Chase Kessler finished with 184, and Conestoga Valley’s Jayden Conaway rushed for 182.

Jersey Shore’s Pauling added 177 rushing yards to his 265 passing yards.

Williams Valley’s Fletcher Thompson and Marian Catholic’s Tyler Price each rushed for 176 yards.

Easton Area’s Akhir Brown and Manheim Township’s PJ Myers each finished with 175 rushing yards.

Twin Valley’s Maverik Foster rushed for 173 yards, while Pocono Mountain West’s Christian Stiehler finished with 172.

ELCO’s Brinley Donmoyer and Tunkhannock’s Lucas Ciprich each had 171 yards.

The Haverford School’s Bryce Bryd, Minersville’s Derek Derenzo and Phoenixville’s Stephen Ferko each rushed for 167 yards.

Phoenixville’s Cameron Howard finished with 165 yards, Perkiomen Valley’s Enoch Adeleye had 164 and Chester’s Sa’Mhad Williams rushed for 163.

Carbondale’s Caedon Voglino finished with 161 yards, while Milton Area’s Luis Santos and Wyoming Area’s Luke Kopetchny each had 160.

Hempfield’s Ramel Lyles rushed for 159 yards, Kennett’s Matt Reidenberg finished with 158 and Lake-Lehman’s Cordyn Harris had 156.

Pleasant Valley’s Chris Ward rushed for 153 yards, Northwest Area’s Noah Arnett had 152 and Coventry Christian School’s Cole Smerecki finished with 151.

Webb Leads Rushing Touchdowns with Six

Archbishop Wood’s D’Andre Webb led the reported rushing touchdown totals with six.

Downingtown West’s Cannon, Northwestern Lehigh’s Sukanick and Downingtown East’s Chiron-Robinson each scored five rushing touchdowns.

Great Valley’s Kosmalski, Whitehall’s Jeziah Gregory and Twin Valley’s Foster each scored four.

Easton Area’s Brown, Spring Grove’s Redding, Athens’ Connor Davidson, Honesdale’s Gabe Duda, Middletown Area’s Gavin Paul, Penn Manor’s Jalen Dupree, Cocalico’s Jasiah Rios, Conestoga Valley’s Conaway, Shenandoah Valley’s Joel Nunez, New Hope-Solebury’s Jon Scrima and Bethlehem Catholic’s Justin Martinez were among the players scoring three rushing touchdowns.

Strath Haven’s Barlow, Bethlehem Freedom’s Lashawn Johnson, Wyoming Valley West’s Malique Campbell, Hempfield’s Lyles, Manheim Township’s PJ Myers and Parrish Myers, Executive Education Academy’s Shawntez Whitsitt, Greencastle-Antrim’s Long, Pennridge’s Trevor Picciotti and Parkland’s Tycen Norman also scored three rushing touchdowns.

DePietro Leads Receivers with 213 Yards

Nazareth Area’s Luke DePietro topped the reported receiving performances with 213 yards.

Williamsport’s Trey Damschroder followed with 185 yards, while Garden Spot’s Jeremiah Zimmerman finished with 177.

Bloomsburg’s Jharee Moore-Stewart recorded 175 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Conestoga Valley’s Anthony Rodriguez finished with 158 yards, while Lewisburg’s Drake Osunde had 156.

Conwell-Egan’s Jaeden Tenor caught 10 passes for 151 yards.

Kennett’s Hunter Taylor recorded 147 yards, while Lewisburg’s Jaylen Walker finished with 144 yards and three touchdown receptions.

Lehighton’s Carl Lingham had 142 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Bloomsburg’s Julius Serrano finished with 140.

Owen J. Roberts’ Matt Gregory recorded 136 yards, Columbia’s Oliver Green finished with 132, and Bethlehem Catholic’s Carter Vassa and New Hope-Solebury’s James Lasky each had 131.

Whitehall’s Henry Shultz caught passes for 125 yards, while Lancaster Catholic’s Campbell Gaskins recorded 123 yards and three touchdowns.

Susquehanna’s Mason Keyes finished with 120 yards.

Pope John Paul II’s Eric Green and South Western’s Wyatt Carbaugh each had 119 yards, while Manheim Central’s Dylan Henninger finished with 118.

Palmerton Area’s Cale Young recorded 116 yards, Williamsport’s Delantae Haberstroh Stotts had 115, and Conwell-Egan’s Jameer Harper and Athens’ Kade Rowe each finished with 112.

Warwick’s Vince Yacoviello recorded 109 yards, Shenandoah Valley’s Dave Burrous had 106, Pittston Area’s Lucas Lo Presto finished with 104 and Manheim Central’s Logan Miller had 102.

Otto Young Catches Four Touchdown Passes

Southern Lehigh’s Otto Young led the reported receiving touchdown totals with four.

Young also caught nine passes, helping quarterback Colton Sams produce his six-touchdown passing performance.

Montoursville’s Bryson Fillman, Lancaster Catholic’s Gaskins, Lehighton’s Lingham, Notre Dame-Green Pond’s Drew Boyd, Lewisburg’s Walker, Bloomsburg’s Moore-Stewart and Conestoga Valley’s Conaway each caught three touchdown passes.

Tenor and Queen Lead Receptions

Conwell-Egan’s Jaeden Tenor and Middletown Area’s James Queen shared the lead with 10 receptions apiece.

Southern Lehigh’s Young followed with nine.

New Hope-Solebury’s James Lasky, Lewisburg’s Walker, Garden Spot’s Zimmerman and Williamsport’s Damschroder each caught eight passes.

Exeter’s Brady Adams and Nick Pashley, Kennett’s Taylor, Emmaus’ Mason Lenig and Owen J. Roberts’ Gregory each finished with seven receptions.

Spring Grove Leads Team Rushing

Spring Grove led the reported team rushing performances with 470 yards.

Phoenixville wasn’t far behind with 461 yards on the ground.

Lake-Lehman also surpassed the 450-yard mark, finishing with 459 rushing yards.

All three teams demonstrated strong rushing production, with Spring Grove holding an 11-yard advantage over Phoenixville for the top reported total.

Sams Leads Total Touchdowns with Seven

Southern Lehigh’s Sams topped the reported total touchdown category with seven.

Archbishop Wood’s Webb, Palmerton Area’s Gursky and Notre Dame-Green Pond’s Murphy each accounted for six touchdowns.

Downingtown West’s Cannon, Conwell-Egan’s Kimbrough, Great Valley’s Kosmalski, Oxford Area’s Braden Hunt, Athens’ Davidson, Nazareth Area’s Madson, Lehighton’s LucyKanish, Conestoga Valley’s Conaway, Downingtown East’s Chiron-Robinson, Bishop McDevitt’s Williams and Williamsport’s Hughes each accounted for five touchdowns.

Holy Redeemer’s McDermott, Conestoga Valley’s Bair, Lewisburg’s Walker, Whitehall’s Gregory, Shenandoah Valley’s Nunez, Twin Valley’s Foster, Jersey Shore’s Pauling, Southern Lehigh’s Young and East Pennsboro’s Good each accounted for four touchdowns.

Noor Leads Offensive Linemen with Eight Pancake Blocks

Central York’s Kadin Noor led the reported pancake-block totals with eight.

Milton Area’s Aiden Holovich and Upper Dauphin’s Eoghan Savage each recorded five.

Shenandoah Valley’s Brayan Chagolla, Milton Area’s Carter Letteer and Schuyler Humphrey, Wyoming Valley West’s Hunter Hufford and Tanner Ragukas, Wyoming Area’s Logan O’Malley and Nick Day, and Central York’s Pat Baker each finished with four pancake blocks.

Central York’s AJ Baker, Shenandoah Valley’s Chris Redanauer, Williams Valley’s Colin Crisswell, Blue Mountain’s Krash Long, Milton Area’s Michael Runkle and Conrad Weiser’s Ryan Kase each recorded three.

Records and Explosive Performances Highlight the Week

Another week of Pennsylvania high school football produced outstanding individual performances and several significant milestones.

Kosmalski’s record-breaking season continued as he established Great Valley’s single-season and career rushing touchdown marks. Sukanick came within two yards of tying Northwestern Lehigh’s single-game rushing record while matching the school’s five-touchdown rushing record.

Gursky tied Palmerton Area’s single-game record with six touchdown passes, while Sams accounted for a week-leading seven touchdowns.

Carter led the reported passing totals with 351 yards, DePietro topped the receiving category with 213 yards, and Spring Grove led the team rushing totals with 470 yards.

With records being challenged and broken across the state, Pennsylvania’s offensive playmakers continue to deliver memorable performances as the regular season moves forward.
