Records, turnovers and game-changing defensive touchdowns highlighted another impressive week of Pennsylvania high school football.
Coventry Christian School’s Christian Brown established a new school single-game record with 20 tackles, tying Williams Valley’s Magnus Monger for the highest reported tackle total of the week.
Neumann-Goretti’s Cassius Law led the interception category with three, while Kutztown’s Ryan Walters delivered the longest reported interception return for a touchdown, taking one back 96 yards.
Line Mountain’s Cade Feger also turned in a dominant performance with three sacks and five tackles for loss.
Brown Sets Coventry Christian School Tackles Record
Coventry Christian School’s Christian Brown made school history with an outstanding defensive performance.
Brown recorded 20 tackles, establishing a new school record for tackles in a single game.
He shared the week’s lead with Williams Valley’s Magnus Monger, who also finished with 20 tackles.
Brown’s record-setting performance was one of the week’s biggest individual defensive accomplishments.
Monger Records 20 Tackles
Williams Valley’s Magnus Monger matched Brown for the highest reported tackle total with 20.
Monger led a Williams Valley defense that also had Trevon Bair among the week’s leaders with 15 tackles.
Schuylkill Haven’s Brayden Shappell and Bloomsburg’s Zane Thomas followed with 18 tackles apiece.
Shappell also recorded four tackles for loss, making him one of the week’s most productive defenders.
Shenandoah Valley’s Dylan Getz finished with 17 tackles, while Schuylkill Valley’s Alexander Gehret recorded 16.
Bloomsburg’s Malcolm Tagba, Milton Area’s Schuyler Humphrey and Williams Valley’s Bair each finished with 15 tackles.
Bloomsburg, Milton Area Have Multiple Tackle Leaders
Bloomsburg had several players reach double figures in tackles.
Thomas led the way with 18, followed by Tagba with 15. Jahree Moore-Stewart, Mark Katulis and Shane Frey each recorded 10 tackles.
Milton Area’s Humphrey finished with 15 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss.
Teammate Brady O’Rourke added 14 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss, while Michael Runkle recorded 10 tackles.
Schuylkill Valley also had several standout defenders. Gehret led the way with 16 tackles, Hunter Durland finished with 14, and Anthony Batista and Jonas Hartman each recorded 11.
Batista also returned an interception 36 yards for a touchdown.
More Defenders Reach Double Figures
Milton Area’s O’Rourke, Schuylkill Valley’s Durland and Mount Carmel Area’s Jason Klokis each recorded 14 tackles.
Delaware Valley’s Alex Calvario and Dylan Bannon, East Pennsboro’s Cassius Comp, Columbia’s Gage Whitt, Tri-Valley’s Robert Schwartz and Camp Hill’s Zaidyn Crandall each finished with 13.
Shenandoah Valley’s David Burrous, Chambersburg’s Deakon Snavley, Great Valley’s Beau Kosmalski, Northern Lehigh’s Bill Slattery, Berks Catholic’s Faith Zudie, Tri-Valley’s Landon Horoschack and Mount Carmel Area’s Max Karycki each recorded 12 tackles.
Unionville’s Alex Gonzalez, Schuylkill Valley’s Batista and Hartman, York Catholic’s Camden Fitze, Wilson Area’s Christian Samayoa, Northern York’s Gavin Mack, Bishop Shanahan’s Jake Campbell, Minersville’s John Lutsky, Bethlehem Catholic’s Jonathon Ayache, Chambersburg’s Mason Mowen and Seth Gilliam, Dallas’ Owen Oldt, Lansdale Catholic’s Quinn Eichert, Great Valley’s Sean Eisenhardt, Shikellamy’s Willie Bender and Schuylkill Haven’s Xavier Pomales each finished with 11 tackles.
The 10-tackle group included Bethlehem Catholic’s Aiden Rivera, Holy Redeemer’s Alex Snyder, Schuylkill Haven’s Colton Reber, Minersville’s Derek Derenzo and Kushon Sims, Wilson Area’s J’son Johnson and Ryan Bonham, Middletown Area’s Jacob Pomraning, Manheim Central’s Jevin Carbonneau, Easton Area’s Justin Cossover, East Pennsboro’s Kolton Keys, Lower Dauphin’s Michael Dugan, Pocono Mountain East’s Mason Brown, Susquehanna Township’s Rick Brown Jr. and Strath Haven’s Tyler Slaughter.
Law Picks Off Three Passes
Neumann-Goretti’s Cassius Law led the reported interception totals with three.
Ten other players recorded two interceptions.
Hatboro-Horsham’s Caden Edwards, Central York’s Hunter Fogle, Williamsport’s Jaylen Williams, William Penn Charter’s Kingston Rountree and Muncy’s Nathan Rogers each intercepted two passes.
Lansdale Catholic’s Saeed Robinson, Susquehanna Township’s Steph Malette, Mifflinburg’s Taylor Zimmerman, Lewisburg’s Jaylen Walker and Mahanoy Area’s Yoibel Perez also finished with two interceptions.
Walker, Robinson and Perez added interception returns for touchdowns to their performances.
Feger Leads Defensive Pressure with Three Sacks
Line Mountain’s Cade Feger delivered one of the week’s most disruptive performances.
Feger recorded three sacks and five tackles for loss, leading the reported tackles-for-loss category.
Line Mountain teammate Garrett Cockeril also recorded three sacks and three tackles for loss.
Holy Redeemer’s Alex Snyder finished with three sacks and 10 tackles.
Upper Perkiomen’s Nate Schramm added three sacks.
Shappell, Oldt Among Tackles-for-Loss Leaders
Behind Feger’s five tackles for loss, five players recorded four.
Schuylkill Haven’s Brayden Shappell, Dallas’ Owen Oldt, Susquehanna Township’s Rick Brown Jr., West Catholic’s Tyler Smith and Jersey Shore’s Zeke Sechrist each finished with four tackles for loss.

Archbishop Wood’s Ben Sakyiama and Dante Fulgnitti, La Salle College High School’s Bobby Gaffney, Palmerton Area’s Colby Kohler, Colson Ruzicka and Parker Davis, Line Mountain’s Cockeril, Upper Dauphin’s Eoghan Savage, Lower Dauphin’s Michael Dugan and West Catholic’s Samir Herring-Wilson each finished with three tackles for loss.
Walters Goes 96 Yards for a Touchdown
Kutztown’s Ryan Walters delivered the longest reported interception return for a touchdown, taking one back 96 yards.
North Penn’s Mason DiLorenzo followed with a 60-yard interception return for a score.
Lewisburg’s Jaylen Walker returned an interception 55 yards for a touchdown, while Mahanoy Area’s Yoibel Perez scored on a 51-yard return.
Great Valley’s Beau Kosmalski and Perkiomen Valley’s Vince Pataccio each returned interceptions 47 yards for touchdowns.
Schuylkill Valley’s Anthony Batista went 36 yards to the end zone, while Solanco’s Chase Sensenig scored on a 35-yard return.
Lansdale Catholic’s Saeed Robinson added a 34-yard interception return for a touchdown.
Malvern Prep’s Jack Schuster returned an interception 29 yards for a score, while Line Mountain’s Caden Carson went 27 yards.
Scranton Prep’s Roman Lowe added a 25-yard interception return for a touchdown, and Strath Haven’s Pat Burke scored from 18 yards.
Lindsay Scores Twice on Fumble Returns
St. Joseph’s Prep’s Logan Lindsay delivered one of the week’s most unusual defensive scoring performances.
Lindsay returned two fumbles for touchdowns, scoring on returns of 36 and 13 yards.
He also recovered two fumbles, tying Line Mountain’s Caden Carson for the highest reported fumble recovery total.
Middletown Area’s Jace Redline had the longest reported fumble return for a touchdown, taking one back 78 yards.
Muhlenberg’s Jayden Faulkner followed with a 39-yard return.
Manheim Central’s Nahshon Chioke returned a fumble 29 yards for a touchdown.
Nanticoke’s Reagan Jackson and Notre Dame-Green Pond’s Ryan Qureshi each scored on 20-yard fumble returns.
La Salle College High School’s Josh Simmons added a 13-yard fumble return for a touchdown.
Blue Mountain’s Chase Guers, Dallas’ James Gibbons and Wilson’s Justice Hardy also scored on fumble recoveries.
North Schuylkill Scores Twice on Blocked Punts
North Schuylkill’s special teams unit made a major impact with two blocked-punt touchdowns.
Casey Rader blocked a punt that Kole Rollenhagen returned 24 yards for a touchdown.
Rader also scored on a 13-yard blocked-punt return.
Dallas also found the end zone following a blocked punt. Bobby Gallagher blocked the kick, and Trevor Slavinski returned it 20 yards for a touchdown.
Defensive Playmakers Highlight Another Big Week
From school records to interceptions, sacks and defensive touchdowns, Pennsylvania’s defensive standouts continued to make their presence felt.
Brown’s school-record 20 tackles and Monger’s matching total led the week’s tackle performances, while Law grabbed three interceptions.
Feger recorded three sacks and five tackles for loss, and Line Mountain teammate Cockeril added three sacks.
Walters’ 96-yard interception return was the longest reported defensive touchdown of the week, while Lindsay scored twice on fumble returns.
