St. Joseph’s Prep defensive standout Jayson Nitz announced on Twitter (X) that he has committed to Davidson College, becoming one of the Wildcats’ newest additions in the Class of 2027.
Nitz enters his senior season as one of the Hawks’ returning defensive leaders after helping one of Pennsylvania’s premier football programs compete at the highest level in 2025.
During the 2025 season, Nitz recorded 20 total tackles, including 12 solo stops, while making an impact behind the line of scrimmage with seven tackles for loss and two sacks. His ability to penetrate the backfield and disrupt opposing offenses made him a valuable piece of St. Joseph’s Prep’s defensive front.
Whether setting the edge against the run or applying pressure on passing downs, Nitz consistently demonstrated the toughness and motor that have become trademarks of St. Joseph’s Prep football. His physical style of play, combined with sound technique and relentless effort, caught the attention of Davidson’s coaching staff during the recruiting process.
By announcing his commitment before the start of his senior campaign, Nitz can now focus on helping lead the Hawks through another championship chase .
