Lucas Sutyak Commits to Sacred Heart University, Giving Southern Lehigh Another College-Bound Lineman
Southern Lehigh offensive lineman Lucas Sutyak has announced his commitment to continue his academic and football career at Sacred Heart University, becoming the latest Spartan standout to earn a Division I opportunity.
Sutyak made the announcement on social media, sharing his excitement for the next chapter of his football journey.
“Blessed to announce my commitment to Sacred Heart University! Thank you to God, my coaches, and my parents for their unwavering support. Excited for what’s ahead. Go Pioneers!” Sutyak posted on X.
The commitment comes as Sutyak prepares for what Southern Lehigh hopes will be a dominant senior campaign. Already a multi-year starter, he has developed into one of the anchors of the Spartans’ offensive front while also making an impact on the defensive line.
Southern Lehigh head coach Phil Sams has watched Sutyak’s growth over the past several seasons and believes his best football is still ahead of him.
“2026 will be Lucas’s fourth year starting on the offensive line and his third year starting on the defensive line. Lucas has always been big and strong, but he is now also a physical force on both sides of the ball! He loves the weight room and is also a student of the game! Furthermore, he is becoming a great leader by being vocal to his teammates and leading by example. We expect Lucas to have a dominating senior year!”
Sutyak’s combination of size, strength, and versatility has made him a valuable piece of Southern Lehigh’s success. His ability to play on both sides of the line of scrimmage has attracted the attention of college recruiters, and Sacred Heart ultimately secured his commitment.
