Coach’s comment: Sammy has established himself as a disruptive force on the Cardinal O’Hara defense and one of the experienced defensive playmakers in Pennsylvania’s Class of 2027. The 6-foot-2, 230-pound Edge/OLB combines size, strength, and 4.6 speed to create problems for opposing offenses.
Dantonka delivered an outstanding 2025 season, recording 75 tackles, eight sacks, an impressive 30 tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries, and a forced fumble. His ability to consistently get into the backfield makes him a dangerous edge defender who can impact the game against both the run and the pass.
A four-year varsity starter, Dantonka has earned All-Catholic honors twice and is also a two-time All-State selection. That combination of experience and production gives him an impressive résumé heading into his senior season.
Dantonka also brings versatility as a tight end and competes in track and field, while carrying a 3.7 GPA in the classroom. With his physicality, speed off the edge, and proven ability to make plays behind the line of scrimmage, Dantonka is a defensive standout to watch for Cardinal O’Hara during the 2026 season.
