RECAP: Parkland Blanks Stroudsburg 35-0 as Head Coach Tim Moncman Earns 200th Career Victory

Parkland Head Coach Tim Moncman reached a major career milestone as the Trojans rolled past Stroudsburg 35-0, giving Moncman his 200th career victory and 100th win at Parkland.

The Trojans wasted little time taking control, scoring 21 points in the first quarter and adding 14 more in the second. Parkland’s defense did the rest, shutting out the Mounties over four quarters.

TJ Lawrence was at the center of the Trojans’ fast start, making an impact on offense and special teams.

Lawrence opened the scoring with 7:41 remaining in the first quarter, breaking loose for a 72-yard touchdown run. Andrea Giroudon converted the extra point for a 7-0 Parkland lead.

Less than two minutes later, the special teams unit struck. Jackson Geroulo returned a punt 39 yards for a touchdown, and Giroudon’s kick increased the advantage to 14-0.

Lawrence delivered another big play before the quarter ended. Finn Coen connected with him for a 55-yard touchdown pass with 1:58 remaining, sending the Trojans into the second quarter with a commanding 21-0 lead.

Parkland continued to add to its advantage in the second quarter.

Jaren Sanchez capped another scoring opportunity with a one-yard touchdown run at the 6:27 mark. Lawrence then completed his three-touchdown performance in spectacular fashion, returning a punt 65 yards for a score with 2:09 remaining before halftime.

Giroudon converted all five of her extra-point attempts as Parkland took a 35-0 lead into the locker room.

Neither team scored in the second half, but by then, Parkland had already done more than enough to secure Moncman’s milestone victory.

Lawrence finished with three touchdowns in three different ways — rushing, receiving and on a punt return. On his only rushing attempt, he went 72 yards for a touchdown, and his lone reception went for a 55-yard score.

Parkland showed plenty of depth in the running game. Tycen Norman carried seven times for 65 yards, Julius Lopez added 46 yards on five attempts, and Sanchez rushed six times for 27 yards and a touchdown.

Coen completed 2 of 6 passes for 78 yards, including the 55-yard touchdown to Lawrence. Blake Nassry accounted for Parkland’s other reception, gaining 23 yards.

Stroudsburg struggled to establish its running game against the Trojans. Jack Mitchell led the Mounties with 17 yards on six carries, while Jarel Jackson had three yards on seven attempts.

Mitchell found more success through the air, completing 8 of 20 passes for 121 yards with one interception. Evan Van Buskirk completed both of his attempts for 12 yards, while Maxim Tuffy completed his only pass for three yards.

Josh Ivers-Green led Stroudsburg’s receivers with 54 yards on two catches, while Keegan Munch caught two passes for 37 yards. Kygen Damato added three receptions for 25 yards.

For Parkland, the night belonged not only to a team that dominated in all three phases, but also to its longtime head coach.

The Trojans scored three offensive touchdowns, returned two punts for scores and kept Stroudsburg off the scoreboard to secure a 35-0 victory and career win No. 200 for Moncman — including his 100th as Parkland’s head coach.
