Philadelphia Catholic League Players of the Week (Week of September 21, 2025)

Offensive Player of the Week:

-Amahj Gowans (Cardinal O’Hara – RB – Sr.):

Gowans takes home top honors for the second consecutive week. In the Lions’ impressive win over Smyrna (DE), 34-14, he rumbled for 202 yards on 30 carries. Three times he found the end zone.

Offensive Honor Roll:

-Khyan Billups (SJ Prep – RB – Sr.)- 118 yards rushing on 24 carries.

-D’Andre Webb (Wood – RB – Jr.)- 15 totes for 121 yards and a trio of scores.

-Kenny Montgomery (Wood – Wr – Sr.)- Four receptions for 111 yards and two TDs.

-Mehki Stallings (Ryan – RB – Sr.)- 12 carries for 101 yards and three scores.

-Yeboa Cobbold (Lansdale – QB – Sr.): One passing TD and 131 yards on 10 carries; including a 81-yard TD.

-Josiah Everett (West – QB – Jr.)- 14-for-28 passing with 267 yards and 3 scores.

-Sya’mir Jackson (West – WR – Jr.)- Five grabs for 144 yards and a 71-yard TD.

Defensive Player of the Week:

-Austin Lyons (Arch. Ryan  – OLB – Sr.):

Lyons once again showed why is one of the defensive leaders for the Archbishop Ryan football team. The heady outside backer notched 8 tackles (5 solo), including a sack and three other TFLS. He blocked a PAT and recovered an onside kick in the contest, too.

Defensive Honor Roll:

-Alex Haskell (SJ Prep – DL – Sr.)- Registered 2.5 sacks, TFL, and a Blocked FG.

-John Boggs (SJ Prep – LB – Jr.)- Notched 9 tackles (5 solo); including two TFLs.

-William Davis (Wood – LB – Sr.)- Team-high 11 tackles; with 5 TFLs and fumble recovery.

-Braeden Smith (Lansdale – LB – Sr.)- Team-high ten tackles; including a sack and TFL.

-Max Brown (O’Hara – S – Jr.)- Nine tackles, sack, TFL, and pass defend.

Special Teams Player of the Week:

-Aaron Kelly (Wood – S – Sr.)

Kelly was active for the Vikings in their, 56-13, thrashing of Carroll. On special teams he made a pair of tackles, blocked a punt, and recovered an onside kick. All totaled, he notched seven tackles in the game.

Multi-Purpose Player of the Week:

-Jordan Cotton (Arch. Ryan – RB/DB – Sr.)

Cotton was influential in the Raiders emerging rushing attack with 135 yards on just 13 totes. Good for 10.4 yards per carry. Twice he found the end zone. Defensively, he added a pick and a pass defend in Ryan’s 48-13 dismantling of Conwell-Egan.

Spectacular in Defeat:

-Tyty Mattison (Arch. Carroll – WR/KR – Jr..)

Mattison was one of the few bright spots for the Patriots in their defeat at the hands of Archbishop Wood. He accounted for both Carroll scores with a pair of long touchdowns; an 88-yard kickoff return and then a 95-yard interception jaunt. He added two catches for 34 yards.
