Offensive Player of the Week:
-Chris Sponburgh (Arch. Carroll – Jr. – QB)
Sponburgh ended the Patriots’ season on a high note by setting the school record for passing yards and touchdowns in a game. He finished with 322 yards and eclipsed a record that had stood for 50 years. All totaled, he completed 15-of-23 throws and finished with 6 touchdowns, as Carroll pasted Hanover, 41-6.
Offensive Honor Roll:
-Tyty Mattison (Arch. Carroll – Jr. – WR)- Turned six receptions into 112 yards and two scores, while also adding 40 yards rushing.
-Semaj Beals (Roman – Sr. – QB)- Beals passed 16-for-22 for 178 yards and a pair of scores. He added 58 yards on the ground with another TD. Beals’ passing yards pushed him over the 11,000 mark for his career.
-Yeboa Cobbold (Lansdale Cath. – Sr. – QB)- Cobbold was brilliant this past weekend by finishing with 159 yards on the ground on just ten carries (41-yard TD). Through the air he was an efficient, 11-for-12, for 146 yards and two more TDs.
-Charlie Foulke (St. Joe’s Prep – Jr. – QB)- Foulke paced the Hawks’ offense with a 15-for-24, 259 yards and 5 TD showing.
-Jett Harrison (St. Joe’s Prep – Soph. – WR)- Harrison was once again lethal towards opposing defenses with a 6-catch, 158 yards, and 3 score outing.
Defensive Player of the Week:
-Austin Lyons (Arch. Ryan – Sr. – LB)
Lyons continued his clutch play with a team-high 9 tackles (7 solos); including a sack and one other TFL. He added two pass defends and a pair of key 4th quarter interceptions. The first one set-up Ryan’s game-winning score. Later, he picked off a Burrs’ pass in the end zone to end the game.
Defensive Honor Roll:
-Keyshawn Flowers (Neum.-Gor. – Sr. – LB)- Hustled for a game-high 14 tackles and a pass defend.
-Jelane Richardson (Neum.-Gor. – Jr. – DB)- Registered 12 tackles, 3 pass defends, and an interception for the Saints.
-Braeden Smith (Lansdale Cath. – Sr. – LB)- Paced the Crusaders with 10 tackles, one TFL, and a 3-yard interception return for a touchdown.
-John Boggs (St. Joe’s Prep – Jr. – LB)- Led the Hawks with 7 solo tackles; two TFLs, and a fumble recovery.
Special Teams Player of the Week:
-Mehki Stallings (Arch. Ryan – Sr. – RB)
In Ryan’s 23-22 narrow win over West Catholic, Stallings twice found the end zone on conversion runs to help the Raiders secure an undefeated season in the PCL Blue Division.
Multi-Purpose Player of the Week:
-Danny Celins (Arch. Ryan – Sr. – TE/DE/P)
Celins played a strong game in all three phases for Ryan in their close win over West Catholic. Seeing his first duty as punter he unleashed three boots for a 44.7 yard average. Offensively, he turned his only reception into a 36-yard TD. Then, on defense, he contributed 5 tackles, including a sack.
Spectacular in Defeat:
-Josiah Adams (Bonner-Pren. – Sr. – DB)
Adams was everywhere for the Friars’ defense in their, 26-14, setback to Roman. He finished with 13 total tackles; including 11 solo stops and a TFL.
