Offensive Player of the Week:
-Semaj Beals (Roman – Sr. -QB)
Was surgical in the opening half in the Cahillites, 48-20, win over Springfield. He went 16-for-18, for 271 yards and five passing touchdowns in the first half. He only attempted two passes in the second half. Beals now sits just 10 yards from the 12,000-yard barrier.
Offensive Honor Roll:
-Trey Montgomery (Roman – Soph. – RB)- Rushed 17 times for 129 yards.
-Ashdan Roberts (Roman – Sr. – WR)- Made five grabs for 114 yards; including touchdowns of 48 and 41 yards.
-BJ Scott (Ryan – Jr. – QB)- Played a strong game in going, 19-for-24, with 198 yards and three passing scores.
-Gavin Sidwar (LaSalle – Sr. – QB)- Passed 16-for-21, for 256 yards and 4 TDs.
-Joey O’Brien (LaSalle – Sr. – WR)- Made seven catches for 118 yards and two scores.
-Jimmy Mahoney (LaSalle – Sr. – WR)- Notched just three receptions in the game, but turned them into a pair of scores and 109 yards.
Defensive Player of the Week:
-Jemel Williams (LaSalle – Sr. – DT)
Williams was impactful in Lasalle’s State Semifinal win over North Penn. Amongst his five tackles he notched two sacks and a was fixture in the Knights’ backfield all afternoon.
Defensive Honor Roll:
-Austin Wright (Roman – Jr. – DE)- Had a team-high 9 tackles (1 TFL).
-Justus Gaskin (Roman – Sr. – DB)- Had a 40-yard interception return for a touchdown, one pass defend, and 4 tackles.
-Cooper Heilig (LaSalle – Sr. – LB)- Led the Explorers with 7 tackles.
Special Teams Player of the Week:
-Chris Heck (LaSalle – Sr. K/P)
Heck was his reliable self by nailing all seven of his extra-point tries. He added a touchback and one punt for 33 yards in the Explorers, 49-14, convincing win over North Penn.
Multi-Purpose Player of the Week:
-Dave Spinelli (Ryan – Sr. – WR/DB)
Spinelli had a spectacular day in the Raiders, 42-0, whitewashing of George Washington in their annual Thanksgiving Day clash. On offense, he hauled-in ten receptions for 114 yards and one score. He added a rushing touchdown. In the return game he ripped-off a 79-yard kickoff return. Defensively, he made a pair of tackles and added a pass defend. He even had time to unleash a 60-yard punt.
Spectacular in Defeat:
-Jalen Patterson (O’Hara – Sr. – DB)
On a strip sack, Patterson returned a fumble 76 yards for a TD that allowed the Lions to erase a 21-point deficit. Alas, the Lions would go onto lose their state semifinal game in heart-breaking fashion. However, Patterson was strong throughout with 9 tackles, a sack, TFL, and pass defend .
