Offensive Player of the Week:
-Yeboa Cobbold (Lansdale Cath. – Sr. – QB)
The electric Cobbold was at it again in the Crusaders, 33-7 win over Williams Valley in a PIAA 2A Quarterfinal. When passing he was an efficient 10-for-12 for 166 yards and a pair of scores. On the ground he sprinted for a 51-yard touchdown and paced his team’s ground attack to the tone of 104 yards on just 9 totes.
Offensive Honor Roll:
-Ashdan Roberts (Roman – Sr. – WR)- Had 3 catches for 70 yards and two TDs.
-Semaj Beals (Roman – Sr. – QB)- Beals only attempted seven passes, but completed six oft hem, with four going for scores. He amassed 206 yards on those six completions.
-Gavin Sidwar (LaSalle – Sr. – QB)- Sidwar was on point, as witnessed by his 15-for-19 showing. Two of his passes went for scores and he accumulated 259 yards through the air in the game.
-Owen Johnson (LaSalle – Soph. – WR)- Hauled in 8 passes for 147 yards and a TD.
-Ahzir Nelson (LaSalle – Jr. – RB)- Paced the Explorers ground attack with 108 yards and a score on 12 carries.
-Amahj Gowans (O’Hara – Sr. – RB)- Surpassed 2,000 yards on the season with a solid 20 carry, 106 yards and a TD effort.
-John Welde (O’Hara – Sr. – QB)- Accounted for three scores with two coming on rushes and one in through the air where he passed 10-for-16, for 130 yards.
Defensive Player of the Week:
-John-Patrick Oates (LaSalle – Sr. – OLB/TE)
Oates recovered two fumbles in the game with one of them being returned for 21 yards and score in the second quarter. He also added a sack and another forced fumble. Offensively, he provided a 30-yard TD reception.
Defensive Honor Roll:
-Braeden Smith (Lansdale Cath. – Sr. LB)- Had a game-high 15 tackles and one pass defend.
-Mathias Lieber (Lansdale Cath. – Jr. – LB)- Hustled for ten stops; including a sack.
-Khasir Ravenell (Roman – Jr. – LB)- Led the Cahillites with ten tackles, while also providing a sack and two forced fumbles.
-Sabir Dawson (Roman – Soph. – DB)- Chipped-in with 6 tackles, one TFL, and an interception.
-Cooper Hailig (LaSalle – Sr. – LB)- Had a team-high 8 tackles with a sack and TFL amongst them.
-Sammy Dantonka (O’Hara – Jr. – OLB)- Registered 13 tackles, with 8 solo stops and a pair of TFLs.
-Isaac Day (O’Hara – Jr. – LB)- Made eight tackles; with a half-of-sack and one other TFL.
Co-Special Teams Player of the Week:
-Eisa Nealy (Roman – Sr. – PR) & Justus Gaskin (Roman – Sr. – PR)
This Cahillites’ duo each provided an electric punt return for a touchdown to help their team race past Holidaysburg, 55-20, in a PIAA 5A Quarterfinal match-up. Nealy’s return covered 67 yards, while Gaskin’s went for 88 yards.
Multi-Purpose Player of the Week:
-Darren Jackson (Lansdale Cath. – Sr. – WR/DE)
Jackson was a force for the Crusaders in their impressive, 33-7, win over Williams Valley. Offensively, he made 5 catches for 91 yards and a touchdown. On the other side of the ball he was active with 7 total stops (5 solo), half-of-sack, and two other TFLs.
Spectacular in Defeat:
-Keyshawn Flowers (Neum.-Gor. – Sr. – LB)
Flowers played a strong game in the Saints’ tough setback to Trinity this past Friday. He led N-G with 13 total tackles; including 8 solo stops, a pass defend, and one TFL.
