NTL Week 5 Recap and Predictions

Written by: on Monday, October 3rd, 2011. Follow Jordan Clark on Twitter.

This past week went as expected for me. I finished with a perfect 5-0 record with most scores being quite close. Troy was forced so pick up a game with little known Elmira and fell in a heart-breaker 22-14. Canton and North Penn did what was expected of them by handling Wyalusing and Sayre respectively. South was able to keep Wellsboro QB Shaw humbled while Towanda had a happy homecoming defeating Cowanesque Valley 56-7. Lets look at this weeks game and how I see them panning out.

North Penn vs Athens

This is the NTL vs NTL game of the week. Athens comes into this game at 5-0. North Penn comes into this contest 4-1 after bouncing back last week to their lone loss to Towanda. This game looks close on paper, but the problem is Athens hasn’t played anyone. North Penn 22 vs Athens 6

Sayre vs Troy

This week is chuck-full of good games. I defiantly feel this is the best week of games and this one will not disappoint either. It will be the Sayre ground game vs the Trojan passing attack. I lean one towards Troy because it is on their turf and they want to bounce back after last weeks tough loss. I LOVE upsets! Sayre 20 vs Troy 19

Wellsboro vs Wyalusing Valley

Here is another game that could be very close in the end. The Hornets and Rams are two teams that wouldn’t mind hitting the reset button on the ole game counsel. This will be a shootout. Wyalusing 25 vs Wellsboro 16

Muncy vs Canton

This one should decide the NTL Small School title. Canton has already beat Wyalusing and Sayre. They keep chugging and my pre-season pick takes the title in Indian territory.
Canton 28 v Muncy 7

South Williamsport vs Warrior Run

Two in a row for the Mounties? No.
Warrior Run 14 vs South 12

Towanda vs Mifflinburg

Here is your AA District IV game of the week. This should be a dandy with 4-0 Towanda traveling to 5-0 Mifflinburg. Towanda needs to score points vs the very tough Wildcat D. This will be a defensive battle but based on last season…
Towanda 14 vs Mifflinburg 10
