Coach’s Comment: Malachi was thrust into the starting quarterback role last season after an injury to our starter, and he handled the challenge with maturity well beyond his years. He embraced the opportunity and used his athleticism and playmaking ability to become the face of our offense. His poise, competitiveness, and leadership were invaluable for us and are qualities we will continue to rely on moving forward.
This season, we plan to use Malachi in a variety of ways and get the ball in his hands as much as possible. His versatility makes him a true “Swiss Army knife” for our offense and a player defenses must account for at all times.
Defensively, Malachi proved to be a reliable and dependable defensive back who was willing to play wherever we needed him in the secondary. He is a smart football player who uses his speed, athleticism, and instincts to cover opposing receivers and make plays on the ball. His versatility and football IQ make him one of our most valuable players on both sides of the ball.
